Liked Castle Oblivion 3? Check out the Remake of the original Castle Oblivion! http://rpgmaker.net/games/7548/

New to the series? For all of you who are new to Castle Oblivion Series, I highly recommend you to check the "History of Castle Oblivion" section!

Story:
A scientist known as Evan has his own hobby of exploring places around the world. Rumor has been told that a treasure is hidden somewhere on a very rare island that is said to be hidden deep within a fog so thick that not even the eye of a deaf captain could see it. As the young scientist prepares to sail out in the sea in hope to find the hidden island, a greater evil awaits them that neither Evan or his companion are aware of. Will this treasure hunt turn out as it was expected, or will a drastic wave change the course of this adventure?

World:
The story takes place on the ancient island of Strombidge. This island isn't the normal paradise you'd travel to on your vacations, this is the island that's so well hidden that no one's ever found it. The story also takes action in a place beyond reality. Is it a dreamworld, or is it a paradise? Is it even real? You'll have to find out about that yourself!

Gameplay and Mood:
The gameplay takes place in 2 different worlds! On the mystic island, Strombidge and inside the floors of The Castle. The game is meant to be fun to play, exciting, emotional, scary and challenging. CO3 will deliver an epic mix of both reality AND imagination. So if you're the fan of games based on true reality or the fan of the games that are surprisingly imaginable, stay on, this game might do the trick for both of you.

Features:
- A mysterious castle filled with over 9 different worlds to explore!
- Exciting and climactic story with twists!
- Fun gameplay with a good mix of exploration, battles, puzzles, scenes and more!
- Well mapped areas with beautiful, creepy, mysterious and unique atmospheres.
- Minimap system that displays in your upper left corner which you can turn on/off at almost any point!
- Secrets! Hidden arrows, items, skills, bosses, rooms, side quests and all kinds of goodies! Gives the game a good replay value.
- A challenging difficulty. The game requires thinking, rather than repetitive
button mashing.
- Two endings! A good and a bad one.

Estimated game length: 30-40 hours.

4000+ Downloads Thank You & New Game Announcement

Howdy! I'd like to dedicate this post to all of you who have decided to give CO3 a go. It's been really wonderful to hear from so many of you that you've enjoyed the game so much, even though it's my very first game. Seeing CO3 alive and active today is a great and motivating treat that keeps me going and exited to develop more and more games. Thanks for everything, guys.

Another thing that I would like to mention concerns the latest game I'm working on. It's called "Cold at Heart" and even though it may not look like CO3 and the CO1 Remake for that matter, it's still pretty similar. Like the Castle Oblivion games, Cold at Heart is at its very core a dungeon crawler.

The game is inspired by games like Super Metroid and Resident Evil and features fully custom graphics and a soundtrack (composed by myself). You can check out the game by clicking on the following logo:

Please note that the game is still in production. The demo available is currently in its Alpha stage, so any potential bugs, or errors are most likely going to be fixed for the full release.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to stay tuned for my upcoming projects!

Ugh. I just can't get it done again. I think I'm going to take a break and try again tomorrow.

I seriously think another 30-60 seoonds or a few thousand HP less would make this fight much more doable.

And I need help too. I think I might be stuck or you hid something too well. Spoilers because it is super, super late game.

Any idea if there's supposed to be something there, like a switch? I found a hidden switch on the northern part of this map, and I got the sound effect telling me I pulled it, but I don't see anything different.

I think I might add another minute, making it 8 minutes. I'm glad I decreased the difficulty when I made my final run. If you think this version is hard, you haven't seen the beta O.o

@the13thsecret

There IS another switch and it's in the exact has you're standing in front in the screenshot. There's a secret entrance at the back of the house, behind the street lamp. If you look close enough, you'll notice the hidden arrow :P Good luck and good job on getting all the way to Oblivion Realm! :D
I have again realized that you are a genius at hiding things. I think I tried to feel every part of the map like a blind man except for that part.

Thanks!
Let me know when you've added that other minute. Until then I will spare myself the agony. Probably. And speaking of hiding things, I am still miffed that I couldn't find that 30th medal piece. Good thing I didn't need it to advance.
Hehe, I am a bit of a sneaky game designer ;) I'm glad it worked out for you!

I'll try to upload an updated version today if I can make it. It takes some time to upload the - hmm, since the game is encrypted, it would be possible to just upload a new data folder. It should spare both our time. I'll look into it right away!
Also, I just PMed you(Evilmumrah). :)
Thanks for the PM. Got it and, whew, that was some fight, even with the extra time.
I take it that it worked out this time? :)
Yep. And I guess Larry proves again that you can't keep a bad guy down.
Got that right! Larry is something of a bitch that won't leave you alone :P
Finished up:
Castle Oblivion-Foundation, and the original Castle Oblivion. Currently stuck at the moment with CO2 because at the very beginning some track called "This is halloweeen" is apparently missing. Little setback, but can be fixed.
I see you're starting from the very beginning, that's nice! I think Kelarly has uploaded a new link to download CO2, maybe that one has that audio file. If not, I could send it to you tomorrow or something. :)
EDIT:
The more I think about it I think he was trying to pattern off Kingdom Heart's battle stats. I just have this weird feeling that is what he was trying to do with CO2, and while CO1 was all out power-fest.

EDIT 2:
Actually I might give CO2 another shot, I think I'm just fatigued since CO1. I will have to come back to this later. Btw alot of audio tracks are missing apparently. I think his download in dropbox got corrupted or he forgot to put in the audio files. I mean I can patch it myself, I just thought I let someone know about it.

I will go ahead and give a mini-review right here since I'm taking a break from the series:

Castle Oblivion Foundation:
Gameplay:
This was probably the most balanced game that I've played from this series so far, and I had no real issues with it. I like how he went for action-rpg since it seems to make more sense for this series than turn based action.

Story:
The Story gave me idea what I was about to experience in the original game, and helped me understand what is going on, and who these characters are.

Music:
This game really shined in the music, and I could tell right off hand he was a big fan of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories.

Castle Oblivion:

Gameplay:
My god everything was a powerfest, and large HP that can bore a person to tears. Not only that, the attacks were unbelievably over-powered, and Vincent's Memory was like the only godsend that made things easier to handle. I only kept going like I did because the story interested me. I ended up becoming fatigued since then, and I'm going to take a break till I'm ready to played CO2 again.

Story:
This game shined the most in story, and keeps the player curious what could happen next. It was a simple story, and straight to the point. It also helps if you played Foundation as well.

Music:
The theme continues since Foundation,so I don't have much to comment on it.

I agree with most of what you wrote. I tried to keep the good stuff and improve on the not-so-good stuff when I made CO3. I really enjoyed the dark and somewhat "barren" feeling the CO games delivered. Atmosphere for each and every location is something I focused on a lot when I made the game.
You'll definitely experience new elements in CO3, which I hope you'll enjoy.

Kelarly's been more active the last few days, so I encourage you to try to contact him on his Youtube account about CO2. I do understand that you are tired after playing through the original CO. The battles in that game is certainly not forgiving!
Wow, it's been 4-5 years since I played the original CO games that I decided to download and play them again; I forgot how much fun it was to spam Scathe (and the game is easy after floor 3 with proper money/equipment management anyway). I may decide to make it my project to compile and arrange a whole bunch of save files so that people can cut straight to the fun bosses/story things...like Castle Oblivion "The Movie" or something.

As it stands, I just need to do CO2, although it looks like Kelarly shipped a beta version into the Dropbox by accident.
Heh, that movie idea gave me memories of plowing through the game, starting with lv. 99 Vincet xP It doesn't sound like a bad idea, especially if you haven't played CO2(which I really enjoyed).

Ah, really? Do you also get errors of missing files when you play the game?
I'm missing some soundtracks too, but nothing I can't handle yet.
