This game has you running around an abandoned city as the old mage Jett.

Along the way you'll collect gold bars and find spells that'll help you defeat blood thirsty enemies, as well as destroying objects in the way. You only need to know how to move the character and push the enter button. I tried to make it as simple as possible.

Despite being what it is, this game may have some glitches (mainly the character's sprite). The idea of the game is to just explore and find strange secrets throughout the city. I added a little bit more since the last demo and keep in mind that this game was just an experiment.

Even though this game was made with RPG Maker 2003, it has no menus, dialogue, or bats!

Note to players! There's only three spells and 10 gold bars to find in the demo. This game was kinda inspired by Yume Nikki, Desert Nightmare, and other games similar.

Milkwad played this game! Go him!

2nd Demo was submitted!

Hey ya'll! I didn't feel like the 1st demo was long enough so I decided to throw out something a little better. This will be the final demo for this game so if anyone has time to send me some feedback after playing that would be awesome! If you find all 9 gold pieces you pretty much completed the demo! When you save your game the number next to the smiley face shows how much gold you collected. So, uh enjoy.

Lol, upgraded to rm2k3 spirit? :3
Oh yeah, I'm moving up in this world!
I like the idea, and the setting is cool. I'm personally not a big fan of 'walk into to activate' controls, but I can work with that in a good game. I wonder if that flask will serve a purpose or if it will just serve as an idle animation. Also, I can't play the snes? Why, creul world!?! (Only kidding-I appreciate the touch to add personality to each house and clues of its residences.) The music might have been a bit peaceful considering the setting, though. I look forward to what's to come!
Oh yeah, it's work in progress! I'm still not sure where I'm going with it though, I just play around and add stuff each day. If this game becomes a hit I'll plan a sequel called "Right off the Light!" Sorry, I had to say it.
this looks just like something but i cant put my finger on it
I'm sure the tilesets I'm using were presented in another game . . . but I've never seen a game with 'em yet (or didn't notice).
then you should check out, oh, i don't know, every other rm2k3 game set in anything but a fantasy setting. and even some of those. i've been doing it since '03. but they look nice
I guess the future tilesets are pretty limited! Kind of a bummer.
Alrighty! So this demo will kinda give players an idea as to where the project is heading. Now I need to get some sleep!
it's all about how you use them
I may decide to scratch this project. It seemed like a good idea at the time but I have no idea what to do with this game and the glitches are driving me nuts! I think I'm gonna try and work on another RPG and see what happens.

You could always just put it on hold rather than scratch it. Though, if you decide to work on another rpg, maybe something Epic Elfish? :D
Yeah I was gonna just cancel the whole game out but I'm gonna give it a few and see if I can figure out what to do with the project. But I am ready to start another RPG like Epic Elf! I'm gonna walk in the woods and brainstorm, even if it is midnight!
What happened here? Cancelled!
Yeah I just couldn't think of anything to do with this one, plus I'm already focused on another project! I'll switch it over to hiatus just in case! If anyone wants to continue working with this game feel free (or at least you can use the maps for something)!
OOh, thanks. If I do a modern horror I'll have a look through this again. Your mapping is nice. Feel free to harvest things from my games too.
Sure thing! I would often harvest a lot off my old projects that were never finished/lost interest and it saved me many hours. I kinda want to start a project involving a team someday and put together a kick ass project!
Hey this was rather fun, mostly due to the nice setting (urban fantasy in my RMN ?), sheer charisma of the protagonist, and funny little messages (which did detract a bit from the atmosphere at first, but were great for giving a sense of progression). This could become the basis for a real game, if you find a way of using magic that involves a little more thought than "detect type of obstacle - backtrack to portal".
Yeah I think I need to learn more of the program to make things on this project work!
