I've seen that list before. A lot of the stuff on there is stuff that you shouldn't be afraid to include in your game anyway. I got 21. ;P

Oh, I totally agree with you. To be honest, I actually expected to have a higher number than 79 due to the nature of my game!
The only thing it was missing was the ancient's old tower that you worked so hard to getting to the top to so as to find that secret powerful cure that would heal so and so in town or your dying lover or best friend only to find the very first and only mechanical button or device within the entire tower and that single button alone would turn that solitary, old, rusty, falling apart tower into a mechanical flying machine:

Tell me someone has seen this in a game somewhere (and yes, I made that flying tower.) ^^
EDIT:
BTW, I stopped counting at 37... I was laughing too hard at the sad fact that I had only gotten to 65 (thus the ancient tower flying) and had that many.

That is a legitimately awesome flying tower.
Thank you! ^^ Thought it was an awesome idea...

YES! Thank you, UPRC! Iknew someone out there would remember another game that this had been seen in! :)
Considering the amount of cliches that go into most rpg's, 41% is not bad at all. Cliches are not necessarily taboo, either, since they are expected to a degree; it's all in how you implement them.
For example, most rpg's revolve around good vs. evil, no matter how you spin it. It can't be helped, unless you are trying for something completely different, but then you risk losing your audience. In the fabled worlds of rpg's, it's expected that new towns offer better weapons, new dungeons offer hidden loot, you can steal from homes without getting into trouble... and so forth.
On a side note, if you try to make a game with little to no cliches, you risk creating a completely different game that people will be too scared to touch.

Exactly. I actually want a lot of cliches, because Blackmoon Prophecy emulates some of the most cliched and predictable games ever made (FF4, FF5) so it's not a bad thing at all.
Dude. Who gives a shit. Your game looks great and don't think you can re-invent the wheel when it comes to gaming and "Cliches". Almost everything has been done before and a game like this NEEDS cliches to even work right. People who are anal about seeing things they have already seen need to seriously gtfo because nothing will ever please them. Hell, somebody should start a post bitching about people who bitch about cliches.
I am a huge fan of Final Fantasy 1 and 2/4 (japan) This game looks spot on.
I subscribed to you. I can't wait to try this.
