While working on a new town, I decided to throw a new reference in. First person to get the reference will receive a FREE pound cake in the mail from me!

If I had a nickel for every dollar I have, I'd be 5% richer...

...is that really a reward...? Considering the distance it'd have to travel, it would either:

1. not make the trip and become stale or,
2. survive the trip and then I'd be afraid to eat it considering its contents can survive said trip.

...just sayin'

And...
the only reference I know is that's a song in FF IX.

Nice reference. Also, ever considered darkening the tone on either the ceiling tiles or the wall tiles for this ChipSet? They're almost the same color, hard to tell what's what.

Also, this dude is awesome. I bought both of his albums on iTunes.

Strange, the ceiling tile is lighter ingame. I don't know what happened with the screenshot.

Actually... I googled it...

So what kind of pound cake, and when can I expect it? ;)

Despite the fact that you probably saw the answer above, you are now the proud owner of a 2012 Toyota POUND CAKE!

Not home at the moment so I may not have this right, but I THINK it does the following:

1. DEF +10
2. SPD +5
3. Increased Evasion

It's pretty early in the game as well since you upgrade basic leather armor with a few snake scales and pieces of fur to create this armor. It's sort of like an alternative to heavy armor for characters who can't wear it.
That seems pretty cool.

NOOOOOOO!!!! I was looking forward to getting an awkward smelly package in the mail!

On topic: how extensive is the upgrade system?

It's a simplified version of the FF8 system. Upgrades require the initial item (obviously) and two additional materials. For example, this armor requires:
1 Leather Armor
5 Furs
3 Snake Scales

There is no charge, you simply need to bring what is required for the upgrade. Most blacksmiths have unique items that they can create and about one in every three towns has a blacksmith.
