i've been to this dungeon, and I know what this summon is, though I haven't yet managed to beat this boss. i'll give you a clue, it's a fairly well known summon in the final fantasy series and is commonly associated with one of the elements.

I'd advise looking at this image: it shows where certain events are placed and helps in progressing further into the game.

Ah, having troubles beating him? He's one of the game's super bosses for a reason. :)

In my test plays, I had to around level 50 (at least) with very good equipment to take him down.

It's Sephiroth! Gotta be Sephiroth, why wouldn't be? He's every FF Fanboy/girls wet dream.

It's a Kefka esper!

Pft, no.

I think Kefka is the only 16 bit Final Fantasy boss who doesn't get a reference, which is weird since he is my all time favourite villain.

I certainly hope Bomb did more damage to Zeromus than it did to an imp in that demo video.

ps Bahamut is trash too. Use Nuke instead for instant case and reflect-glitches to ignore half of Big Z's HP and all the counters.

and then i will cry
does this idea involve those summons?

Yeah, but I don't know if I really want to do it or not.

spoilers they're all trash

F YOOOOOUUUUU!

Bomb was awesome. His damage scaled differently from other stuff. For a mere 10 MP, he does damage comparable to Rydia's strongest spells/summons at any given time. I was using Bomb on Zeromus because his damage was equal to Bahamut's.

Oh wow, I knew of them but I thought that they were new to the GBA version!

... Suddenly, an idea is hatched for Blackmoon Prophecy!

iirc there's four enemy drops summons in FF4. Imp, Bomb, Cockatrice (dummied out in FF2, not sure about FF4ET), and the Mage/MindFlayer.

Jesus, I STILL didn't know about it and it's 2012.
Bomb was in the SNES version too, but since there was no internet back then, only a few people ever knew about it.

I was one such lucky person :D

I can understand the Exocite, but Nerapa and Rhodox were particulary... i don't know... obvious?
I don't know, it was hard to tell when I was younger. Nerapa always looked like a man in a frog suit to me, and I thought that a rhodox was... I don't even know. I thought that the end of the tail was an eyeball. Playing on a crappy old TV probably didn't help matters.
