In the visual novel "Peach's Party" you assume the role of peach and host a lovely party for all kinds of known or lesser known guest.

Among them are Bowser, Mario, Luigi, Wario and a foreigner Harlequin.
There is an ending for each of these characters. Not so your butler, but good Toad is there nevertheless.

You basically hear the characters introduce themselves (read: talk 1-2 lines), can then ask your Toad-butler to give some information on one of them (read: talk 1-2 lines), and off you go to greet one. That's it.

It is very, very, very short. Half of it is introducing the usual cliché character-trait, the other is giving them more depth beyond that - or rather an outsider perception (talking about you, Mario!). This makes it certainly some fun and a little bit funny.

*snicker* Sure, if you say so.

The characters are hand-drawn, so are the ending pictures. Sure, nothing close to perfection, but lovely nevertheless. The writing is okay and kept simple with typical standard phrases such as "mama mia".

The problem is not only that it is so short, but also that it has neither sound nor music at all. This was mentioned in the description, so it does not come as a surprise, but it hinders one greatly to immerse oneself. It makes it impossible to create a party-atmosphere. A party should include some light, warm background music, some banter in the background among other things to be realistic. Now it could as well be an empty hall, as the background does not show a dance-floor, tables or other blackish random guests being there.

It is also one of the reasons some endings are incromprehensibly, some soundeffects and music would've helped to indicate and emphasize a break and underline what was actually going on. It's easy enough to understand 2 endings, but the others leave you wondering what exactly just happened.

Bowser's ending does come as surprise, but is funny and comprehensible. So is Wario (well, not that funny, but still). As for Mario and Luigi, they could either be chasing Bowser senselessy, or they could be off to rescue Peach once again. If it is the latter, she would need to be captured first - with no hint at all towards that. And we don't just jump into the future, either. If it is the first, then it doesn't make much sense at all. Especially for Luigi.
You know the jester pulls some tricks, but you have no idea what exactly might be going on.

It's also a little bit disappointed that you cannot choose a single line Peach says (not to mention that she probably has the shortest dialogue of anyone involved). As the protagonist, she should definitely have more text than a single minor character.
It also makes the dialogue a little bit stale .. as .. well, there is a definite lack of dialogue in the dialogue. Introducing yourself first is fine, but how about a response? Toadsworth is commenting, yes, but they were obviously talking to you, Peach.

"Peach's Party" certainly has ways to go, it's a bare skeleton of a game, but the ideas are quite fine and it is an okay play for the few minutes it lasts.
