This is the first of twenty bios for the cast of Promised Abyss! Please welcome Vaunea, a religious and unsettled young woman with a deadly ax.

Vaunea grew up in the forests of southern Cydrel with her father; her mother died when she was a teenager. Not being around many other people, passing wardens and rangers aside, Vaunea never developed people skills. That's not to say that she's a savage, however. Vaunea is a well-mannered and pleasant woman, not necessarily eager to please but definitely never attempting to offend. All that aside, Vaunea has found a good place for herself in the Helenistic Order of Templars, adding her ax techniques learned as a warden to the normal sword, spear and shield training of the templars.

It wasn't until she was 21 that Vaunea finally joined the Order. Having lived with her father up until then, Vaunea's greatest woe was never being able to go to the beautiful cathedrals her pious mother described to her. Then, a mission drove Wish, Terra and Jesse into the woods near Vaunea and her father's cabin -- she leaped at the chance to return with them and take the vows of a templar, and to live in Haven, the most beautiful cathedral city in all of Cydrel! Content but still getting used to things after the six years of her membership, Vaunea manages to maintain a constant sense of bewilderment at what most people take for granted in city life.

She, along with most of the Order, died during Empress Persephone and Jasper the Bloodletter's attack on southern Cydrel -- but Vaunea was the one to lay the killing blow on Jasper himself. Unfortunately, the grievous ax wound to his neck let out a burst of Arcana so powerful that it dissolved Vaunea's flesh before her weapon could finish its full arc.

Battle Role: Vaunea overextends herself with a lot of her attacks, draining her Morale in exchange for high Phys damage output. While she performs best with an ally to encourage her along, she can take care of herself with a special attack that boosts her Morale and HP. As she builds relationships with her companions, Vaunea learns more techniques to empower the party and their own Phys attacks.
