Super Mario Bros. 3X is an SMBX episode heavily inspired by and designed in the style of Super Mario Bros. 3. Stomp goombas, collect coins, smash blocks. You know the drill.

This episode contains 9 worlds and over 100 levels. Fight your way through deserts, forests, magma pits and other environments. Complete star challenge levels and search for hidden Warp Zone pipes. Unlock the hidden World 9 for an extra challenge.

There is really no plot and minimal text to read. Just jump right in to the action.

If you really need a plot: Bowser and his Koopalings have kidnapped the Princess again and taken over seven kingdoms. Beat up the Koopalings and save Princess Peach!

Special thanks to:
Isrieri for testing the game in its entirety.
Kentona for making those custom firebar thingies.
UberAndrew for making the Dry Bowser sprites.

A great demo so far :D
I really liked the simple level design.

I played a good portion of this and it feels like a true sequel to SMB3. Not bad! It's simple, but I like the amount of secrets.

The full version will have even more secrets. I've improved almost every level in some way.

I just so happened to stumble upon this game after hearing that you made your own episodes of SMBX.

I really enjoyed this project, to bad it's gotten... No attention? Lol

Your levels were short but sweat, with tons of good secrets and puzzles. It was everything a Mario game should be in my eyes.

I might do a review of this sometime soon.

Glad you like it.
Most SMBX projects get very little attention unless they're featured, or if enough of the right people get involved. That's one of the reasons I've decided to start reviewing other people's games. At the very least, it's nice to know what people think of your project.
I just found out there's a SMW romhack called SMB3X. Dammit.

Yep, same problem here - when trying to enter first stage, error pop ups saying:
"Run-time error '13' type mismatch". Now question: How can I play your game????

I have no idea why that would happen. SMBX has some weird bugs, and what's even weirder is they don't happen for everyone.
Aww so I won't play it, then...

=[
Stupid SMBX glitches.
I've found solution!

I've found the solution for that "Type mismatch" error:

Go to the folder where SMBX is installed, go to "worlds\TGE\lava skys".

Open the file "npc-19.txt" and replace:

speed=1.5

with

speed=1,5

(so it's just replacing dot with comma)

Save that file and enjoy the level.

I've found that non-english lamguage systems use comas instead of dots in numbers, so that's why some people need to change all dots to comas in npc*.txt files.
It works now :]
