About the project

Little Girl That Could is loosely based on a comedic webcomic written by me and drawn by Octos Alias. The comics had dark humor and a storyline but was mostly gag strips. A more serious comic has been planned for an actual comercial release which will detail events of this game but in ways That work better in comic medium, just like some of the things in here exist only in the game to make for better gameplay.

I began to work on Little Girl That Could game, purely as a sideproject originally but after extremely positive feedback from everyone I began to pour more and more effort into it.

The game has some changes in the storyline, because a lot of things That work on comic medium do not work at game.

Plot

Mary is a Girl who always gets picked up at school for her looks, she is very short and she is completely flat, something the other girls never shut up about. The goth Girl lives a miserable life, where the only person who can understand her (As most think she's emo instead of Goth, further angering her) is a talking teddy bear whom everyone else seems to see as just as average doll. Lazrael, the bear is causing her to see visions of murder and gore, along with causing the Girl nightmares everytime she sleeps close to him. Yet, she accepts this all for the chance to be with someone, to have contact with someone. No one understands her... Expect Lazrael.

One night after a particulary gruesome nightmare wakes her up, Lazrael tells Mary That she is not strong enough to handle the demonic presence and to become strong enough; she must obtain the power of seven sins... Or go insane.

Gameplay

Mary has to go to each world ruled by one of the deadly sins. Each world is themed around the sin, with people living in greed, debauchury, or hedoism. Each Sin is unique with their powers and gameplay, each giving powers that will change the game with numerous ways, also how you deal with Sins affect the game and the resolution. While the order of facing the Sins is pre determined, you may always return back to the previous worlds and make use of the new skills you've obtained and find more secrets and bonuses.

Features

The game has a dark storyline which once again dwells at the borderline of human psyche and what makes person tick. This time, you're dealing with various ends of spectrum with the representations of the sins and dealing with their psyche as well, how their life style has affected their minds.

While there have been countless interaptions of the seven sins, I always have found them never extreme enough. These are supposed to represent the ultimate end of spectrums if you live such lifestyle. Especially Lust who always was portrayed as just very sexy person, will be particulary gruesome.

there is no way this is commerical
This looks like it could be a fun premise, though good execution will always trump a good concept, but you may want to be more careful with your grammar (this is something anyone should do, but it's especially true if this is going to be a commercial game).

In particular, I'm seeing some singular/plural confusion between nouns and verbs in both the game description and the screenshots (comics...was, all the stuff...come, etc), comma placement issues (ex: "Lazrael, the bear is..." instead of "Lazrael, the bear, is..."), and some word mix-ups which weren't picked up by an automatic spellchecker (ex: "gets picked up" when the context suggests it should be "gets picked on" and "Expect Lazrael" when it should be "except Lazrael").

These aren't game-breakers by any means, but even one error in spelling or grammar during an important scene can really kill the mood and such issues can mean the difference between a great game and an 'ok' game depending upon how frequent and/or severe they are.

English is my third language. Don't worry, there will be people who will fix grammar issues.

You do realize that there's typos in many commercial games too? Even with best proof readers, some hiccups may sneak in.
this story has been used a lot.

Not in the way like here. Sometimes, it's not the story that's the best, it's how you tell it.

I've done MASSIVE research for this game and went through Deviant Art and god knows how much fan art and stories and seen pretty much every single incarnation of the Seven Deadly Sins. Some have been good but many have been just weird and had little connection to the entire theme. I hope this will be the first game to "get it right."
are you still working on this? :D
It's on a hiatus since I'm working on another, simpler project for first commercial release then do something that's a bit more heavy like this after.
