Spirits can traverse to the world of the living during only one night of the year, seeking delicious sweet treats. But only the bravest, or most desperate ones, dare cross between dimension, since they can be easily killed by the mere human gaze.

A small shadow spirit, lost and alone in the world of the living, wants to return home safely before the night ends. A haunted pumpkin promises to help in exchange of a mysterious artifact, broken into pieces and scattered across the mansion.

Find candy to bribe spirits into helping you, keep away from humans and find all the pieces to finally be able to return home.

This is a short game made for the RMN All Hallows’ event.

If you can't see the text, open the game folder and install the 'Myriad Condensed Web' font inside the FONT folder.

Kind of finished it

I won't have time to remove anymore bugs until tomorrow, so that's it xD *dies*

I hope I was able to keep awkward english to a minimum, that explanations make sense and that there aren't any more game breaking bugs. The game was supposed to be linear, but, somehow, now it's not, so it was very time consuming to test. There's only one ending, but you can experience all events in more or less any order and some are optional.

I just thought I'd point out how many candies there actually are, and their locations in case anyone get stuck anywhere.
Also, there are two extra candies you don't need for anything, but are there to prevent an unwinnable state.

After getting the first candy and being able to cross the courtyard, there are 5 candies on the ground floor. Five are available from the beginning, and one is available only after an event. All of them can be picked up without going upstairs, and one of them can be missed.

In a plant vase on the courtyard.
In a cupboard in the dining room.
On the sofa/tea table in the living room.
On the middle of the table in the dining room.
On the left-most table in the music room/library, after watching the maid picking it up from the floor (It's not on the floor before that because I suck xD)

Then, there are four candies upstairs, two for each side.

In a cabinet in the bathroom >.<
On a desk in the corridor upstairs.
In a flower vase on the balcony.
Under the child’s bed, in her room.

Anyway, thanks for everyone who plays my game, and good luck to everyone :)

Um... just started playing and for some reason I'm not getting any text.

I mean, I wandered, got to the pumpkin but the message box appeared but there was no writing I could read... is there a reason for this? Maybe a font I don't have on my computer?

I was playing this earlier, and saw no text on the title screen, which was a huge red flag in my book. Thankfully, I noticed the "FONT" folder!

*Edit: I managed to get 3/4 of the coin the pumpkin wanted, and I believe I'm at a loss of where to go, or what to do. Though, I am figuring that I could have forgone giving that one imp in the Kitchen a candy for a while longer so that I could use the second chimney spirit's services.
Well, sorry for the late reply. I made sure there's enough candies to not get stuck anywhere (I hope). You can give candy to all the spirits you meet on your way and not worry about it. It's easier to give them to the chimney spirits as soon as possible, though, because they open up new rooms to explore.
I wrote all the candy locations down in a blog post if anybody needs it.
