Today's nutshell will answer more thoroughly what does Speed parameter do, despite the order is determined by the order you order your party. But it'll be better if I explain this weird thing more thoroughly.

Cruna Aktrid's turn system must be looking very similar to other turn based RPGs. You order them all once and they'll do the command, with turn is determined by speed. Well, in fact, the system is almost very different. You do order all of them firsthand, but the order they are executed are not determined by speed, but the order you order them! Feel free to plan the strategy ahead! Every character can act more than once in a turn too. That is, as long as their AP is sufficient.

Attack, move, then attack. Welcome to Cruna Aktrid.

Each order consumes AP, which will recover by half by each start of turn. Their cost varies, depending on the command itself. Undoubtfully it is important to pay attention to AP if you don't want to mess up.

About how the turn order really is determined... Lets look at the diagram below.

Assume that the above shows that the order has not been made yet. Then, when orders are made...

The numbers indicate the order they are given. The gaps between acting is there. They'll be shorter as the character is faster. Now, let's see how it works in actual execution...

Yep, the order is Blob > Lyka > Derbit > Ashen > Alex > Lyka > Blob > Ashen. Both parties join the gap in-between, like how shotgun shuffling works.

BUT, how about like this?

Ashen's first order seems faster than Lyka's, albeit ordered third. Let's see how it's done.

... Now what have we done? We wasted Ashen's quicker reaction! It became Blob > Lyka > Derbit > Lyka > Ashen > Blob > Alex > Ashen! Alex lost his opportunity! This is because the order can't fill in the gaps. Same character can't fill his/her own gap of act! As the result, the one that should be quicker must wait until it's turn to act! It applies too when a faster reaction was ordered later despite between different characters.

Don't sweat it, however. What's important is not to be faster than your enemies, but how you can manipulate the order between enemies to your advantage. You can make the should-be-faster order far slower by making other character act in a row before it. Who knows that acting faster can be a tragedy? Regardless, you're free to decide the combo!

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Sounds very weird, huh? This is Cruna Aktrid, afterall.
