Moon & Star, Preludes is the first game in the M&S trilogy
and follows a man named Tawhiri Seventh Lion.

Tawhiri grew up in a community isolated from major civilizations. He was a bright and curious child, always wanting to know more about the outside world, and the aliens who recently colonized the planet.
There were many a days where Tawhiri and his father would hike and hunt.
If there was one question Tawhiri always had, it was about his Mother.

She is called Ninshara, Lady of Moon and Star. A powerful woman, and a loving wife. She gave so much to not only Tawhiri's father, but the entire world. And now it's time for her son to rise up on his 21st birthday,
and finish what she started. The fight against Reverse Creation.

The universe is delving into an apocalypse, with nature slowly reincarnating itself by resurrecting creatures into Reverse Creation. The creatures are then used to eliminate whole planets.

Ninshara is one of many leaders in the fight to stop the universe from "destroying" itself. Unfortunately, her place is in the stars, and you must complete the goals she has carefully constructed for you
before setting out to a world even more otherworldly than your own.

With Zullqus magics being at its utmost, "fantasy" doesn't even begin to describe the insanity of the Moon and Star universe. And with this, one must wonder the purpose of allowing
a dying world to stay in such a state of disrepair.

Because it makes life fun? Hmm~

Features

- Control up to 5 party members in a Free Turn Battle System.

- Explore the universe of Moon and Star with tons of custom and/or edited graphics,
and 100% custom portraits and battlers.

- Toggle Heroic Mode at anytime, allowing for harder fights if the player wills it.

- Touch encounters that are easy to avoid and escape from. You can also run away from mini-bosses, and dying from anything other than a big boss will not yield a game over.

- Use Za Guidance Orb at anytime to look at reminder notes for main quest and/or side quests,and shop from anywhere.
Now you have no reason to spam normal attacks. And before you ask, yes -- there are restrictions to the global shop.
Prices are higher than normal. You cannot buy weapons and armor. You cannot sell things. Etc, etc.


- Equip up to three Zullqus Cores, allowing modification of almost every spell in the game. Zullqus Cores can also be equipped in battle for interesting spell rotations.

- Open Source for learning purposes. You are free to PM me about anything Rm related.

The game is still very early in development. I plan on using this profile to post
design diaries, custom resources, and gameplay theories.
I'm open to comments and criticism, and I want this project to not only be fun, but also have something to take away from.

It sucks that the full version of vx ace is so expensive 69.99 I really wanted to make my own project too and get used to it but i cannot afford it i was raised in a poor family
It's a bit too restrictive for me, but, if one is short on cash, there's VX Ace Lite. Though, the engine doesn't have a specific tag on RMN, I know that, at the very least, the games made during this event were made in that engine.

I should really get to playing those games...

You can do a lot of things with Lite before buying the entire engine. It's a great stepping stone, Imo.

As a small update, I've been drawing quite a lot. I just got back from a small vacation,
and had a whole lot of new ideas to play around with on the canvas.

As for the battles, I've been playing around with Mog's scripts.

I'm probably going to revisit yanfly's free-turn for the main game, but for now, I want to practice with a few features and test the waters a bit.

Someone asked how I created the battleback. I start by fusing stock images like I would with tilesets. Then I paint over them. After so, I add lineart to blend everything together.

A lot of my time has been devoted to improving my lineart. You might find thinner or non-existent lines in the future, but we'll see.
I'm gonna leave you guys with this character.

Whoa when you said this was a different universe from SR you weren't kidding. Reverse Creation?!This is going to be mad indeed. And if you want me to whip up visuals you let me know. *Thinks back to some of his current fractals* I bet they'd be of use .. *makes an asteroid like shape*

I'll continue to practice. Honestly, this game is a bit of an art project. Though I'll never half ass the gameplay.

Yeah, I made it in Mandelbulb 3d. It makes me think of a sort of dragon face or something, a manifestation of rage and entropy.

Not really.
Humanoids have a fascination to divine creatures. But in the M&S universe, gods and goddesses are not characters.
They COULD exist, but no one can really meet or see them.

But in a way everything is a god. When you write characters on a piece of paper, you're technically the god of those characters...
or at least part of its creation.

Now take that power into a universe that has almost no limits. A man can dream in M&S, and that dream can become a reality.

It can be quite scary. Or really freakin' awesome!

A lot of this game talks about this by having inner debates. You'll meet a fair share of people who have there own views on the M&S universe. Hopefully it will turn into an interesting setting over a period of time. :)

If said universe wasn't trying to kill me I' d love to live there.
BTW, just to clarify- will Normal Mode be the default setting, already difficult on its own, with the Heroic an optional super-tough mode?
I saw your "like a boss" video about this game on youtube. Loving the battle mechanics so far.

What I'm probably gonna do before anything else is add a background history page.
Tawhiri's mother is probably the most interesting character in the game - what with her influence affecting the plot 70% of the time.
A character page isn't a bad idea. I could fill it up with some extra art and what not.
Who wants to see Tawhiri as a kid? He's a little devil.

Right now I'm working on some art overhauls. There are a few problems with my portraits.
Mainly the fact that it takes too long to create a fairly good one.
I'm trying to setup a style that's both fast and good looking.
Very nice game indeed. Wonderful artwork and mapping! There are less Futuristic rpg games than ordinary style rpg games. Thats the one reason I enjoy to play them. Storyline seems very intresting and i am looking forward to see what kinds of "aliens" are in your world.
