20 Minutes I'll Never Get Back...

First of all; "Pi". Why the title? No idea. Nothing about the game seemed to be linked to the famous 3.14, apart perhaps from to fact that it was set in a vortex? Maybe a metaphor of the endlessness of a black hole? Anyway i digress, that's the last of the problems brought up by this game.

In Pi you take on the roll of an orange blob who is stuck in a vortex. It's a puzzle game where you have to find your way through the darkness by randomly trying different routes until you find the right one. I would like to go on, but unfortunately, that's it! From time to time there are some teleportation things that can transport you to another place on the screen and some microchip resembling things that suddenly appear; that being said, the game play is basically just trial-and-error... and boring.

There is a potential idea here, maybe if there were a bit more structure, something that makes the player think about what they're doing rather than just mindlessly wondering around until it works. I beat the game in about twenty minutes, but the length isn't an issue; if it were enjoyable it could be a good way to spend a quarter of an hour, but you really just can't wait until it ends!

I don't feel too bad being quite so harsh as i don't believe that much effort went into the game. There isn't even any music! The only thing that saved it from a 0.5 stars was the fact that the graphics weren't awful, and there were a few nifty little programming tricks. I would advise the developer to rethink the whole structure of the game play, and try again with something that has a lot more punch.

Thanks man! Although its only one star, still, its the first time someone reviewed any of my game.

Now the name pie, the protagonist is a sphere and pies are really important in spheres, volume and area formulas and what not. Plus, the values of pie that we use are approximations, the way you find the path are also mere approximations.

And I did put music in it. I actually downloaded and tried it out myself right now, and there is music in it, and actually good music I believe.

I have got that 'potential idea' part before and I think I will at one time redo it. If you have any ideas to make it better you could share.

Sorry about your 20 minutes though.
Right sorry i missed the subtlety avec the round, now that i think about it seems obvious! ^^ Well i don't know what happened about the music, maybe my computer's an idiot? Glad to give you my feedback, and glad you know it's given in a constructive aim! I think you could really do something with it! IT's a good start! And the 20 minutes ain't an issue, i was just being melodramatic for reviewing purposes ;)
