Welcome! For those new to this project, Master of the Wind is a superhero game which takes place in the fantasy world of Solest. It is a story told in seven chapters, referred to as "arcs."

Cade Mistral and his best friend, a skeleton named "Bones," work as armor merchants in the beautiful seaside town of Port Arianna. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, Cade also protects them as the spear-wielding wind mage known as Shroud. Bones joins him as Stoic, a mighty undead warrior who has lived through roughly one thousand years of history.

The story begins with our heroes keeping their fellow citizens safe from smaller threats like robbers or the occasional vampire. However, when larger and more organized foes begin to descend on their humble home, our heroes realize they are in for more than they bargained for. They will have to make new friends, confront deadly foes, and travel all over the world to deliver justice once and for all.

Welcome Back, Bros (and Gals)!

Solest Games is now live!

It took almost a year, but Solest Games is finally back. For those who weren’t around, the site was hacked last summer and we lost EVERYTHING! Years of articles…gone. It was depressing at the time, but it opened up the opportunity to give the site a fresh, modern look.

The site now has a sleek, more mobile friendly design. Most of the page content is the same, with the addition of a Books section that Volrath will be updating. You can still find the downloads for all our games on here.

We’re still making some final tweaks, but this is more or less the finished product. With the new site, I’ll be producing new content on a fairly regular basis. Our Mailchimp account was de-activated so if you were a subscriber you’ll have to sign up again if you want to receive updates. We have a few projects in the works so you’ll definitely want to do that!

If you have any feedback on the site or run into any issues, please leave a comment or contact us directly. Thanks for sticking it out with us!

Hey guys, just finished the game and I loved it. The writing, the world, and especially the characters; plus great puzzles, mini-games, and amazing level design. (The battle system not quite as much, but it was still solid.) I haven't spent 30 hours on an RPG Maker game since The Way, and I'm glad it was this one. Also the side-plots: Gabriella, Rana/Solik, etc. I like the way almost everything turned out; just finished the game 20 minutes ago and I already miss it.

I think it's a great game for a lot of reasons, but then there are little, more random things that just make a difference. Probably the big one is the fairies in this game and especially the sidequest are the greatest thing ever. Then the Blind Guardian in the soundtrack, etc etc. One other thing is the game gets continually better as it goes. The longer cutscenes that kick in during episode 5 are a bold move and one I really like.

I also like that the game is done with relatively little custom art for a game this size--like, you make great use of what you have (the portraits, custom battlers, etc) but never crippled yourself by trying to switch to all custom graphics or completely remaking the dbs, which seems like the perfect balance of ambition and restraint. I loved the look of the game, though I'm also a big fan of the XP RPT, and I was especially glad to see it used so well since there are so few good XP games on this site.

Anyway, yeah, thanks for making this, and I'm looking forward to your next games whenever they're out (especially the commercial one).
Glad you liked it so much! We hope that our next Solest game, currently codenamed Project Kobold, will deliver much of that same experience but with a more developed battle system. Thanks for the kind words on MotW, glad people are still playing it and enjoying it.
Hello

I am really stuck now. I am in the desert city and have to find Cole Marin. I talked with everyone, even solved the fairy quest, but still nothing happens. Anyone knows what to do? I would appreciate it.

@Mngwa:
After you've read enough people's minds to gather all necessary clues, you need to read Cassie's mind again (she's the woman in the armour shop). You'll then be shown where Cole Marin is.
I started this game back in late 2012, then I got stuck near the very end of the game. I picked it up again and just finished it today. And I have to say it's one of my favorite RM games. It's been three years since this game gotten a review, I think I should write one too.

Fitting, since this would be my first review. And this is one of the first RM games I've played.
Cool what made you decide to pick it up again? Looking forward to the review!
It was just on my mind lately, I'm also trying to complete unfinished games over the summer.
Please dear god tell me by the holy mother of hell, what has 21-13-42-34 to do with 3-1-4-2. Bones is acting all smart guessing the last guys number being 34. I don't see the connection. Please... it's driving me nuts.

(I actually had to resort to writing every possible combination down, 24 in total, and try them out til I hit the right number)

@Krolan:
The first number is the "position" of the second number: 21 means "1 is the second number", 42 means "2 is the fourth number" and so on. It's fairly simply if you think about it afterwards, but not as easy to come up with initially.
Thank you very much!

Yeah... now it seems more obvious. I think It would've been better to give a more fitting hint than "the first and second number have a connection".
Actually one could have reversed this and think that 2 is first, 1 is third, 4 is second and 3 is fourth.

Well, you put my mind at ease :)
You know, one of these days, I gotta try this game out someday and give it a play. (Maybe for my 40th?)

I’ll give this a subscribe for now just in case I forget. It would be nice to play an XP game again, since the last one I played and reviewed was way back around last year with Vorlorn, so I'm kinda due for one.

Just curious, how long does this game take to roughly finish?

Years.

e: Sorry, I'd say 30 - 40 hours though to get through all the arcs
Whooo, long game…

I’m sure it will all be worth it, though, judging by all those multiple glowing reviews that it has.
So I played this game quite a few years earlier, when it only had the first few acts done and I loved it then. It was absolutely amazing. Not sure why I waited until now to pick it up again, but I'm glad I did. Right now I'm stuck though, cannot figure out the order of the bells even though I'm pretty sure I'm matching them up to the sound of the organ. I looked through the older comments, but the link someone posted for the answer no longer works.

@FleetingInfinity:
If you give me a few minutes, I can give you the solution if you want. One moment please.

Edit: Here you go:
The correct order of bells to ring (from left to right) is: 2 5 3 5 1

Much appreciated.
If anyone is stuck near the end, where you need to gather a certain medallion behind a door which has a 7 digit code on it (You're supposed to find clues/digits using bubbas nose)....

It's not your fault. The 5th digit (or 3rd to last) according to the hints is 0.
In reality it is the number 6.

On a different note. Epicly awesome game. Damn words can't describe how much work was put into this. Totally worth an award. Way better than "Romancing Walker" and others which, for some reason, are rated higher. oh well.
Glad to see you are still alive and kicking. And hopefully making games.
won't let me download,click download nothing happens.
Download button works for me. Here's the actual download link if you're still having trouble: http://www.solest.org/ccount/click.php?id=16
