Mitch is an over-grown manchild living his dream on Sunvale Island: spending days searching for the perfect wave and evenings drinking and rabble-rousing. But lately a recurring nightmare has been plaguing him, a nightmare of a goth girl telling him the world is going to end if he doesn't get off his ass. Mitch is more than happy to ignore it, but when the girl from his dreams shows up in his living room and tells Mitch that he's a psychic with the power to "eat dreams," Mitch finds himself recruited into a world of psychic secret agents and ancient demons that haunt dreams. Something weird is happening on Sunvale Island, people sharing dreams, people going missing while they sleep and strange objects appearing in people's homes when they wake up. It's up to Mitch and the OPA (Office of Psychic Affairs) to get to the bottom of the "Class C Apocalypse" that's going down on the island and stop the dream monsters known as "The Joy Eaters."

Joy Eaters is a modern fantasy RPG that takes place over the course of five months. You control Mitch as he lives on Sunvale Island and works with the OPA to delve into the world of dreams and discovers what exactly is going on on Sunvale Island.
