Out with the old..

And in with the new. Yes, fellow subbers and yuri fans ( for those of you who are into it, anyway XD ), I am doing away with the Fire Emblem portraits and doing my own. The idea was sitting in front of me all along. As an avid fan of the Sims series ( having played it since its inception in 2000 ), I realised I could use their stances as a base for some of my portraits from my old Sims2/Sims3 screenshots. The stances themselves are anatomically correct ( most of the time, anyway ), so I can flip the portraits now without getting those dreaded errors.

For their outfits, I just used the old FE edit portrait as a base from which to work from ( since Tristy's armour is tricky to freehand ) and ended up with this after about 5-6 hours of sprite work.

I was literally whistling as I did her, because I somehow managed to make Tristy even better looking ( if that were possible ) by changing her colour scheme and giving her softer, more feminine eyes. Matches her armour too. <3

But boy, she sure looks damn good in royal blue armour and a white cape. I'm happy with the way her shading came out as well. And dat sprite... Come to think of it, Tristy now reminds me of Fire Emblem's Geoffrey ( the same dude on whom Leon from FFD was roughly based ) in his third tier outfit ( as a Silver Knight, Geo has the same royal blue armour and wears a white cape. And looks damn fine <3 ).

HUGE image in hide tag.

That's Geo as a Lance Paladin for those of you who aren't well versed with earlier Fire Emblem games. =) And the character in my avatar's younger brother lol. Senri Kita did amazing work for the Tellius-based Fire Emblem games. She's the same artist who did Marth's Fire Emblem Awakening Spotpass artwork.

And there's Ianna's base, still waiting to be coloured. ^^ Her eye still looks a bit wonky though.

So the end result is ultimately something that, while still rooted in traditional FE design, feels more like a work of my own rather than an edit/recolour. And everyone prefers original works over rips/edits, anyhoo. =)

I really, really, really like this new title screen too. It's very striking.

But dayum, Tristy ( had to fan myself several times, lol ). You can still create striking female characters without showing little to no skin. Tristy is living proof of that. Oh, and Ianna too. XD No bikini armour for my lady knight, no siree!

Will update with Tristy's expression set and Ianna's full colour portrait.

That is a terrific ttitle screen. Is that your spritework too?
Regarding anatomy, Tristian's head is still a little too forward.
Maybe it's just me though. Any second and third opinions out there?
@Craze: Yes, all the spritework being done so far is my own. =)

@Dy: It's a bit hard to tell. When I look at her lineart, her head doesn't appear to jut forward as much, but there is something a bit off about it. Could be her chin, which gives that illusion that her whole head is not quite in line with her body.

Well not me, personally, as I really couldn’t care less whether a game uses rips or not, as long as it’s fun. But if you have the talent, the time and the ability to design and create your own resources from scratch, as you clearly have shown us, then you should definitely go for it.

Anyways, I think the new changes are starting to grow on me a lot more now. I wasn’t really 100% a fan of the new art direction that you were going down the road with, other than those wonderful sprites that you made, as it seemed like adding a whole ton of extra work for you, but everything seems to be turning out really nice. And I really dig the new title page! Looks quite badass.

...And somewhere out there, emmych sheds a tear.

(Maybe you can make the bikini armor an unlockable costume? You know, for emmych.)

Fixed portrait.

I figured I'd go the whole nine yards since this will probably be my RPGMaker swan song and last big ( 10+ hours ) project. While I'm in no rush to finish the project ( RL getting in the way naturally ) I at least want to get out a playable demo soon. I mean, I was quite sad when I concluded Enelysion, so I'm going to enjoy every minute while working on Tristy.

I'd do fanservice for TriAnna in bikinis, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Bwahaha :D As if. While you work on Tristian, the idea mill will be churning in the background with all kinds of brainstorm for your next project.
And for that next, brilliant game idea, I recommend that you make this.

It’s what the fans want.

(…Okay, it’s what I want.)

You could make it, Addit. With Luchino's permission, of course. The first Enelysion fangame. ;)
I will make it secretly without her permission. And then Luchino will then file a copyright infringement suit against me and then she’ll take away all my makerscore as compensation.

Truly this is my destiny...

A TEAR OF HAPPINESS, MAYBE. 8(

Look I prefer my characters wearing shit that looks functional. The most turtleneck-tug worthy costumes for me involve a little flash of a collarbone or some forearms and hnkh ghkh hrnanhf fffff THAT'S when I break <333
...really the exploitative nature of giving someone really skimpy and uncomfortable armour is enough to turn me off. Alas, this is why I have always been one to prefer a nice pin-up.

and look if we're being honest, i prefer the corsets and garters and the like on my men so i'm just looking at dante and imagining things don't mind me *whistles innocently*
GIVE ME MY WOMEN IN SUUUUUITS
Well, the mark of an RM developer to show that they've 'made it' is either, a) your game gets a tvtropes page or b) you get spin-offs made from the original work. XD You broke my browser with that fanwork, Addit. But I liked it. :D

And emmych can do the female equivalent for Trianna. Would make sense too. Because there is a scene in the game where Tristian/Ira has to keep Ianna warm with her long mane because the inn was too cheap to afford sheets.
I WOULD DO THIS <_____<

look what i wanna know is when are we gonna get the Enelysion dating sim
ALL THOSE CUTE BOYS, LAINE, ALL THOSE CUTE BOYS THAT YOU COULD DATE

alternately give me the Tristian dating sim in which i date Tristian ah hue hue hue~
Maybe I'll do a cross-over one day for both games. And I'd enlist you, emmy, to write all the wacky dialogue. XD

Ask for TriAnna and you shall receive.

Just something I whipped up. They're supposed to be in a hot tub. XD

Presenting her Royal Cuteness. <3 Even a battle-hardened vet like Tristy would find her heart melting ( eventually ) at those doe-eyes.
