Hehe I went in the girls' toilets!

The God of Crawling Eyes is a fantastic entry in the current Halloween contest and I recommend you go play it.

Story
Short, sweet and a lot of fun. With the dialogue options and the 4 endings and the unlockables the game is steep in replay value. The characters themselves also shine becoming more and more fleshed out as the game goes on, they are extremely well written. To summarise without spoiling too much you and two other pupils end up almost alone locked in your school and must try to escape.

Graphics
All custom and reasonably consistent only the facesets are in a more detailed style. I don't expect them to be for everyone but I found them charming, a bit reminiscent of Earthbound. The game creator makes the comment she did these graphics because she can't draw, that might have been the case but the end result is gorgeous in its own way.

Gameplay
Very simple but masterfully executed. In essence you need to avoid been killed while finding the items you need to progress and survive. I encountered no bugs during my play through and it was generally a really smooth enjoyable experience.

Et cetera
This is a real gem of a game here, the level of thought and detail is phenomenal for example with the four endings you unlock something new to try each play through, one leads you to a developer room for example. In a new game plus when you think you know everything, there is even an added way to die! My only complaint was the number of times I fell prey to that new dying method (the new game plus one) and how long after the last save point it was.

Anyway here's my playthrough if you are interested.

Haha, I just got done watching that video and posting about your youtube channel in the contest thread. I'm glad you enjoyed the game. The mirror event, by the way, is a randomized occurrence that shows up with greater frequency based on the, uh..."spookiness variable." Basically, if you can hear pianos, see six separate eyes on the screen, and run into the little eye-worms, then that variable is at its highest. I believe the mirror creature shows up three out of five times at that point; leaving and reentering the bathroom will cause it to reroll.
Ah ok, I didn't encounter it until my final playthrough so I thought it was added in new game plus. Sorry about the gender thing, anyway congratulations on a great game and contest submission.
