As of today, the game page for Soul Sunder is now exactly a year old! YAAAAY! Time for a celebration!

Thought I'd make something fun for you guys. Hope you enjoyed it! Poor Isaac. He just can't catch a break, can he?

Soul Sunder was a blast to make from beginning to end and, from the looks of it, it was fun for people to play too! I couldn't ask for more than that. You all are awesome! Seriously, I can't express in words how grateful I am to all the subs and others that enjoyed the game. I could try, but I don't think I'll be able to convey it well enough.Suffice to say, thank you so much!

So where do we go from here?

This game may be complete, but there are certainly lots of areas that can be polished and refined. I plan on doing just that. There are STILL typos I see after playing through it and watching other LPs. For a story-heavy game, that is unacceptable for me. I won't rest until every last typo is corrected! As for content, maybe I'll tweak around some enemies or add some new weapons and armor. I don't know. 99% of things I wanted to add have been added, so if I add too much to it, it could very easily upset the game's balance.

Aside from that, I've been thinking of making a separate game mode. Something to provide a fun challenge for those that have already beaten the game. It would be a sort of a Gauntlet run: start at the beginning of Purgatory, and go straight to the end. No retreating to Haven for breaks. I would cut out all the story segments, as that's not the point of the challenge. I would remix the enemy waves to provide an all new challenge to veterans of the series.

Does a Gauntlet Mode sound like something you all would want? Or do you think it's time to move on to other projects?

Regardless, thanks for subbing! You all are amazing!

Congrats! :D

As much as I love Soul Sunder, I'm personally looking forward to your future projects as well. I won't say no to a gauntlet challenge, but I'm also really looking forward to seeing new stories that you want to tell, too ^_^

I would say it depends where the Bludgeon of Inspiration has stricken. If you're really, really pumped about making Gauntlet Mode happen, all the more power to you! If you feel like you need to switch to a different project (I'm half-assuming this project), that's fine too!

Marrend makes a good point! Also, the target completion date for Psychostasis is in ten days. Are you making good progress with it? :D

I am, surprisingly! I've gotten the skeleton of the game finished. I just need to write the endings, make some story notes, and polish the overall project, but the game is pretty close to being done.

The Gauntlet Mode suggestion was one for the future. I'm not going to even start designing it until Psychostasis is completed at the very earliest. It was just an idea.

What did you do to my favourite character, you monster?!
Just kidding, of course. I still admire your drawing abilities, and that picture made me smile. Though, that's a pretty mean grin on Zero's face, there...

To be honest, I don't really see how the game would benefit from a "gauntlet run" mode, especially since story and gameplay are so interwoven and don't make much sense without one another. Plus, you usually don't have to spend that much time in Haven if you don't want to anyway. Of course, this is your game, I'm just giving my subjective opinion.

Good luck on your new project(s), Red_Nova.
And Happy Birthday to you, Soul Sunder!

P.S.: And here I was thinking I had found most or all typos... Guess I should have paid more attention.

Thanks! Thought I'd have a little fun with this image.

You know, that was a pretty major concern I had when I first concocted the idea. The more I think about it, the less I like it. Since Soul Sunder's primary selling point IS the story, having a mode that focuses on just the gameplay might actually detract, rather than enhance, the game. Hm...

Again, I think you did a fantastic job. The number of typos you found in your own runthrough was astounding (not to mention embarrassing), so don't worry too much about it.
