Luxaren Allure 65% Demo Out Now!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce that the new demo of Luxaren Allure is now available! I've name it Luxaren Allure 65%, as the game is roughly 65% complete at this stage. If you've played a previous version, you should be able to continue from where you left off just by moving your old save files to this version's folder.

What's new in this demo? Aside from several new areas to explore and the continuation of the story, and the recruitment of a new ally, two new additional features have been added!

You may now change the game's difficulty from the System menu. The options are 1)Easy, 2)Normal, or 3)Hard. You can change the difficulty any time from the menu.

Also, there is now a "Mission" option in the menu! Selecting this will make your party tell you what you need to do next. This is helpful if you haven't played in a while or get lost or confused at any point.

I would also like to welcome Sooz to the team, as she'll be helping me by remaking the character sprites for our heroes. A huge thanks to her for making Lynette's sprites, and the remade versions of the other sprites will be coming soon. For a sneak peak of her work, here's a picture of Merel's new sprite (still in the works, and isn't included in this version):

One last thing. I had planned for the next release of Luxaren Allure to be the final, complete game, and that's still the plan. However, if enough time passes without an update, and I feel like I have enough content, I may release one extra demo before that. The rest of the game has some complicated parts that may take me awhile, and I don't want to keep everyone waiting too long for more of the game if I can help it.

I want to give a heartfelt thanks to my testers, Red_Nova and Marrend, for their great work, and an extra bonus thank-you to Red_Nova for always keeping me on-task for character development! A huge thanks to everyone for playing, following this game, and for being a huge inspiration for me to continue! ^_^

You know?I wanted to ask the same thing. Because it's Agrias...on a dress! It seems straight out of Bizarro world, like Kratos on a tuxedo. I'm also curious about seeing the rest of the image, it looks really good.

It is indeed Agrias Oaks. I have to agree that it's weird seeing her in a dress. In fact, I almost didn't use it as an avatar just because putting such a badass knight in a dress seemed off, but I figured, this is as close as I'm going to get to an avatar that both has Agrias in it and looks holiday-esce.

Here's the original picture. It's pretty. Though I have no idea why she's holding a gun and is lacking pants.

The Holy Knight with the Golden Gun will be the 24th Bond film.
Finally updated myself and played it. In case you are interested it took me exactly 7:18:00 to beat the demo. So I guess the full game is going to be over 10-12 hs. long. Nice.


Anyway, it's living up to the hype completely. I don't know why you say you have problems with the writing, it's pretty good. I mean, it's not perfect, but it's fine. A lot better than most rpg maker games.


Last time I played it I found it pretty easy, specially because early game you give tons of healing items but later it gets surprisingly hard. Mostly the boss fights. Which are original and unique(something I love btw). Still, I didn't use a single healing item out of battle. Sometimes I had to use mana potion on battle but most of the time it wasn't the case since mana costs are reasonably low and I could keep mana full thanks to that impulse skill Merel possesses(skill that should be nerfed a bit I think).



Now, I don't know if others had this problem, maybe I was doing something wrong or I just plain s*** at the game but the last boss of the demo is terribly hard. Like, really hard. I got trashed several times over and over again by that guy. I grind and got the best equipment I could(from the alchemy shop and the weapon shop from the previous town at least). The buffs and debuffs he shoots makes the fight a nightmare and I know I'm supposed to take down the claws first but most of the fights I couldn't even take down one(doesn't help the fact that they heal so much and have high defensive buffs).
But the worst thing about the boss is a water skill he uses that literally one-shots everyone from the party unless you equip a special armor from the alchemy shop(which requires grinding if you want to have 2 of those). And even then, most of the party dies and it's impossible to try to revive someone without game-over because they keep spamming attacks like mad.


This was my party before everyone was KO'd in a single attack. The only survivor was Karuna. No kidding. I have to be doing something wrong, right?


To be honest, I think this boss should be nerfed. Hard.
The only way I could beat him, was by lowering the difficulty. Which is a last and extreme resort I really hate to use. It's admiting I can't beat the game on the difficulty I chose. But this boss is so over-powered I don't feel that bad.

Anyway, even with this cursed monster, the game is awesome so far. I hope the game's finished on the next demo. Now I want to see how it ends. I'll make you a real fan art when the game's finished.

Sorry that you had so much trouble with the boss. You're supposed to use Lockdown on his claws, which will prevent him from buffing himself and debuffing you. I suppose the hint is too vague? He also shouldn't be one-shoting you like that. I'll look into it. He probably should be nerfed quite a bit if that's the case.

I'm glad you're continuing to enjoy it! As for the writing, I just think I could improve how naturally character dialog flows. Writing, like art and most other things, has the effect of "The better you get at it, the more you realize how much you need to improve." Which isn't a bad thing as it means you always have something to shoot for :D

Anyway, I'll rewrite the hint and nerf that boss a bit. I'll try to finish the full game in the next release (no promises, though XD) and I'm so glad you're enjoying it ^_^

EDIT: Also I love that picture of the Depthsfiend and the party. May I add it to the Fanart gallery? :D
