Rather than specific updates, I just went on a bit of a rant for a blog today. If you're just interested in progress, then the tl:dr of it all is "work is going smoothly but the developer has some stuff on her mind that is slowing her down a little. Still, things are progressing."
I've been getting LA work done at a good pace, however, the unfortunate part of being at the end-game stage of things means that I can't really release screenshots or even much in the way of details without massive spoilers. It creates something of a dilemma: I want to keep people hyped about the upcoming release, but I can't really show off anything ^^;;
Being this close to the end of something I've put this much work into has put me in an interesting mindset: I'm constantly wanting to move forward, to inch closer and closer to finishing the project, and on one hand that gives me plenty of motivation to work hard. On the other hand, it has the downside that when interruptions, problems, or troubles arise, they kinda feel like slamming into a wall.
While I'm not able to go into any details right now, issues have arisen both in real life and with the game that have me quite a bit worried. Neither of these is going to stop the game from being released this year and at worst will just slow me down a bit, but each has caused me quite a bit of stress and frustration.
Ultimately, I know that I shouldn't let myself get too stressed out, especially with getting a game released, so I'm doing my best to remain clam, mindful, and trying not to take anything too seriously, but being so close to the finish line makes me feel a little more vulnerable to these sorts of things somehow. I handle it well from day to day, I think, but I also find myself slipping into a bit of a funk now and then and having to recover and re-motivate myself.
The lesson I've taken from all this is to remember the same state of mind that has gotten me this far: take things one day at a time, one step at a time. Those steps, however small, will one day become a completed game.
Thanks for letting me get that out there. ^_^

Sir Redd of Novus: He who made Prayer of the Faithless that one time, and that was pretty dang rad! :D

Sorry to hear things are getting rough. But taking things one day at a time is the right mindset. I know you'll get through it. We're all cheering for you!
Shoot me a PM if you want to talk.

Now that's a fantastic key to success, to art, to living. Love ya, unity. Feel free to chat me up on Skype too.

You have ME hyped regardless of whether or not you release a ton of screenshots. Just knowing that the game is nearing completion is pretty good news already.
Thanks for the efforts. I look forward to it.

unity, you're a shellfish? Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
Oh the serious side, you'll get there when you get there and we'll wait, we have so far without too many complaints I believe, other than the 'I want to play this, is it done yet?' variety which is generally considered to be motivating in a good way.
A while back I was climbing a mountain and I got hit with altitude sickness (which is horrible and unpredictable), not enough to stop me but enough to seriously throw me off my game, and the guide climbed beside me for a while and just said, one step, just take one step, and then the next don't look beyond the range of your feet and keep moving. So I did, repeating 'one step' under my breath and I made it to the peak and an amazing vista laid out before me, well worth the journey. LA will be the same.

Well, hopefully, everything will go just fine for you at the end. I know the full game will end up being as awesome as it is now. Keep up the good work! :)
I climbed Kilamanjaro with Enelysion, now I'm climbing Everest. You'll get there in the end, uni. I've been there, and the last few weeks/months of game dev can be hellish. I nearly gave up myself, so don't fall into the same pitfalls as I did. Then again, you have the support of a much, much better community =) so you will finish LA. Because you have us.
I will motivate you with a silly Okiku-post!
Go, uni, go! You can do it! You're totally allowed to take your time, too! |

This is very inspirational, and totally the way to live. ^_^ Thanks for sharing that with me, and for cheering me on :D I bet mountain-climbing is exhilarating!
