On the Edge of Candy Space: A Memory

There is no doubt in my mind that the cause that this game was made to promote is good. No doubt that in my mind that bentelk is a competent developer. But neither is there any delusion that this game was worth the age that it seemed to take to download!

First of all, the story in candy space. You are a cleaner who was in a spaceship traveling through outer space. You have been awakened from stasis for the first time in eons. Most of the crew are dead bar a couple. Your ship is under attack by candy.... yes candy!
Do we ever get any insight into the history of the ship or the mission? Nope. Do the characters develop much? Nope. Does the plot even make sense... not really.

Gameplay. Combat is plentiful but painfully cookie cutter aside from the enemies... yes they are candy. Random encounters seem to occur every few steps and you can’t... run... away...
There’s not even much point fighting. There’s not any proper bosses to fight or to train up to. the story just kind of cuts off abruptly.

Audio: The audio is actualy pretty allright but theres not much to set it apart from any other game in that respect

Graphics
The graphics are Decent overall. The fact you fighting candy enemies gives it a bit of a quirky feel which I quite liked

Summary: unrated
Theres realy nothing much here. Its a game created for the promotion of the cause of fighting the King candy trademarking. Is it worth playing... I don’t really think so

Final comments
I assume this game was made pretty quickly judging by the dates on the king candy tm articles. It’s not a bad effort for the time taken but I just don’t feel it’s worth playing in its current state. If it wasn’t produced in such a rush then I reckon the game could actually be built pretty well, the concept is novel and there is a lot of room for interesting bosses and mechanics. The current game though, not worth the download in my honest opinion
