Okay, but enough being cryptic. Alyssa is a short rpg game starring some girl who calls herself Alyssa. Others call her Alyssa too. It seems to be her name. You play Alyssa as she struggles through a bizarre birthday, completing puzzles and defeating demons with only your wits and hidden talents to help you. But as that cryptic summary suggested, there is more to this seemingly normal survival horror rpg than meets the eye. Alyssa is part survival horror, part rpg battle, and mostly a mystery. If you want to find the truth then you'll need to look hard, collect clues, and unlock the "real" ending of Alyssa.

Okey I finished play test.
It took around 20 - 35 minutes to complete the demo. Story line is quite interesting, but there are some little mistakes, like in the bedroom.
*When shows up those circles around parents bed, one of the bookshelves on the right side is transparent.

*Then there is some problem with water gaining ( at very end of the demo). I think you should put some kind of lock on the door, because I went to the garden without vase and got stuck in there. So I really suggest that you put lock on the door, that without certain items Alyssa isn't allowed to progress trough the door.
Hope my play test helps!

lately ive been seriously wondering why people put so much work into horror
particularly the sexy character designs
i dont understand the...obsession,interest or lore of wanting to feel uncomfortable.its extremely weird to me lol...
i mean wanting to experience being butchered,murdered,raped,betrayed by your best friend,crippled,tortured
i cant understand it
thats one of the reasons i personally play games is to dive into a unrealistic world with magic and fun characters
places that i would love to really go but horror...just doesn't make sense.

I, for example, cannot understand what`s the point of writing your opinion on horror games as whole here, but not in some specialized thread.
Well, okay, if you don`t like horrors you can play other games, no one forces you.
The only thing I cannot understand is why the game is listed as Puzzle when it's main genre is obviously Horror.
I'll give this one a go. I'm not a huge horror fan in games, but this looks like quite a bit of work has gone into this short trip so it'll be good to see what has been done with it. Not to mention supporting a new developer is always a good idea.
Is this is a submission for the Indie Contest? It seems to fit the criteria so far.

Unfortunately, "Horror" isn't a genre in RMN, but a "flavor." I listed it as a puzzle game because it has a few puzzles to solve while you're trying to progress.
And yes, I hope to finish it in time for the Indie Game Contest. Even if it isn't winning material, I'm hoping to at least try.

same i am also stuck :/ i dont know what to do anymore . . . i have my vase full of water, a letter to eleana, and two keys :/ cant find eleana and dont know how.
I think I've encountered a bug?
I got through the demon maze, talked to the demon and selected the first "family" option, then was transported to William and Elena, then we chatted... but I'm frozen. I can't move the character, nor can I access the menu. The game is apparently functioning fine, and the visuals are moving (the summoning circles in the background are still animated, I think it's still stuck in the conversation, maybe?There are no save points in the maze, which is frustrating, because I'm really not willing to play through the entire thing again to see whether the bug will occur again.

Did you read any of the dialogue for the keys? If you got the Eleana letter, there would have been a conversation in that room about where to go next... the game makes it PAINFULLY obvious where to go next once you've gotten each item.

I loved it... it was really creepy for me and I don't do horror games very easily. It seemed toned back just enough so that I wouldn't be screaming like I was being mugged.
I actually didn't get very far... but I'm going to give this one another go.

Not everybody is into horror (you aren't, for example). You just could understand that there's people who does like horror or likes to write/make horror stuff. :)

How do you save your game?
Also, how do you heal?
The portrait in the main hallway both saves and heals Alyssa. I'm sorry that this isn't completely clear.
