Plot Overview

In the world of Linguardia, the nations of Rikalia and Dorent are the reigning powers. Although both leaders have been at peace for centuries, a dark cloud is on the horizon. King Richard, leader of the Rikalian Empire, has recently lost his wife and daughter to a pack of demons. Now, his mind twisted from grief, Richard is on a quest for domination. His plan: to harness the power of the six legendary crystals, which, according to scriptures, will bestow the wielder with unimaginable powers if brought together. With Richard on a path of destruction to collect the crystals, war seems inevitable.

Players take control of Epoch Lander, Captain of Richard's Dragon Knights, an elite force within the Rikalian Empire. However, when Epoch begins questioning the morals behind Richard's actions, he is arrested for treason and sentenced to death. With his head full of unanswered questions, Epoch must decide whether to accept his fate or fight for what he believes to be the greater good: even if it means fighting alone.

Soundtrack Complete!

Jose has just finished the last two songs of the soundtrack, bringing the OST to a grand total of 36 songs. With those final two, the Forever's End soundtrack is now complete! I really have to thank Jose for all the hard work he put into these songs. They all sound fantastic, and I can't wait to release the next episode with them implemented. Great job, bro!

Do know though, there are a few songs that will be included with the game that aren't custom. Not many, but a few, mainly because some of my cutscenes were already built around these songs. However, all of the ones included on this gamepage are the custom ones composed by Jose.

With the soundtrack complete, I thought I'd list out a few of my personal favorites. If you have any favorites, please comment and show Jose some love.

Traveling - Overworld Theme

The Reprieve

Dangerous Wilderness

The Death Knight - Marcellus' Theme

Spiritualization

Journeying Forward

Cutting a Path

In the Heat of Battle - Boss Theme 2

A Dying Planet's Last Breath

Just curious but will this game continue to update or is it finished?

From what I heard from Nico, he will be finishing this, but he is
preoccupied by his Let's Plays.

@XCalibar: Woah! That's weird. Well, do you have all the codecs needed to play .ogg files? But honestly, there were only a few .oggs in there (I switched to .oggs then switched back to mp3, which is why they still have that .ogg.mp3 still). I don't think you should run into any trouble. I did that mainly to change up the icons in the .exe file, but that isn't game breaking. I was pretty sure I had the latest version of disharmony...

Anyway, I think you should be alright! Let me know if you have any issues though.

EDIT: You may wanna test opening the editor and listening to the songs through there and see if you have the same garbled effect. 2k3...god, it can be so unpredictable.
It's been a while since I finished the release a year back or so... I got a new computer and was installing some favorite RPGmaker games, when I ran into Forever's End, (and Love & War - Act I).

When I start up Forever's End, the music is garbled and static ridden to the max. It ALMOST sounds like music, except it's warped horribly.

The same horrible noise happened with Love & War - Act I, but only for the voiced parts! (MAde me jump! Maybe I'll take a youtube...)

I haven't seen this problem in any of the other games I loaded up.

Here's what I've been able to figure out so far, and how I was able to ... work around it for now.

With both LAW and Forever's End (FE), I noticed both use Disharmony to playback odd trick files. (Or at least that's what I thought... for FE, but more on that in a minute)

LAW has the voice files setup like : Ryan's Voice.mp3.wav
It's actually, a mp3, but disguised as a wav. Disharmony is usually able to understand this.
LAW uses RM2K.

(I was able to workaround the issue, by converting all the files to real WAV's.)

With FE, almost all the songs are Track 01.ogg.MP3; I thought they would be OGG disguised as mp3s, but apparently not. They are just mp3s...?
FE uses RM2K3.

(I was able to workaround the issue, by switching out RPG_RT.exe with RPG_RT.exe.bak, which you left in Forever's End_7.rar; and using "RM2kFontChanger.exe" using MS Echoes.fon.)

Now it plays the music back perfectly! Do you remember what was changed between the backup RPG_RT.exe you left in there and the normal RPG_RT.exe that works for most people? (Will using that one break the game at some point?)

I can't figure it out... I don't want to reformat my computer to see if something I installed is causing this >< Took forever to get to this point xD
Tried uninstalling FFDShow, and installing directshow codecs to try to get it working... But, it didn't seem to make a difference.

I did notice FE didn't use the newest version of disharmony, but LAW did; and yet they both had the same problem. I THOUGHT that maybe both games were reading the files incorrectly, passing the mp3 files to some filter that tried to read them as OGG or WAV; but since just switching out the RPG_RT.exe file, I'm kind of stumped D:

Here's what it is doing (WARNING LOUD) :

You remember a little bit about the story about how the party members seperated after that 'dungeon' was over? No spoilers :3

Oh! I remember now, it was where they found her.

He probably meant that one mansion whose name I can't recall that gets swallowed in a time rift after you beat the boss.
It does? I don't remember, haven't played this since forever.

@Aurora: Yep! You will be able to return to all of the dungeons in the game (even the ones that supposedly "disappear."
What do you mean by "disappear"?

Kenshin is 5 times harder.
Just make sure you have GOOD agility. I recommend beeing lv 25+

If I skip the level 2 hidden monster for now. Will I have a chance to return to the winter temple in the future?

@NicoB I know you're busy with your LPs, but it'd be great if you started working on
FE more often. The new guys who come here are always asking when Ep. 2 is coming out.

I totally agree! :)

I'm having trouble defeating the Valkyrie. It's the Level 2 Hidden Monster in the Winter Temple. I spend most of the battle trying to stay alive. Aside from my opening soul rends I didn't do much damage.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.
I've reached the point in the game where it splits into four scenarios. I honestly didn't expect the demo to be this long. How much of the game does the current demo cover?

So far, I have nothing but praise for this game. The characterization and plot have been developed at a good pace.

The more you complain, the more it gets delayed. NicoB is fat.

oh wait. nooooooooooooooooo delayed for four more years.
I don't mean he should rush through it. Nobody should ever do that. But there's also a point where somebody needs to move on as well. If you keep going back to fix things you've already touched, you'll have a hard time trying to get ahead.

Besides, I personally enjoyed the story, but then again I've never played any of the SNES Final Fantasy titles.
