Embodiment of Revenge

Dear RED is created by the same developer behind Seven Mysteries - A horror game I enjoyed very much! So I was pretty hyped when I started this game.

Sound
The music and sound effects in the game isn't anything out of the ordinary, birds whistle in the outside area, and a fair and relaxing theme is heard inside. The music however becomes more sinister depending on the situation.

Graphics
The graphics made for Mack tiles looks really nice. The characters look original and gives an authentic look - especially Red's.

Gameplay

The game isn't exactly a horror game with jump scares - but it certainly fronts some unpleasantries. Choices! This game is all about making choices for a different ending! There isn't any combat or battles, though you get the choice to kill or not sporadically. The game is pretty short, but with a dozen of endings if not more. The goal is revenge, and it is many a way to get it - or fail at it.

Story

The story features the main character Red, who's on a quest to avenge her dead mother. She has tracked down the murderer to a lone house in the forest when you start the game. A lot of messy situations rises depending on the choices you make. Do you break into the house? Will you kill the murderer on first sight? How can you know for sure there's not more to your mother's death? Does he even remember you after all these years? A lot can happen!

Overall Dear RED is an interesting puzzle novel with ethical difficulties. The downside to this game is its length, but it covers up by it's replay value. Some of the endings may similar or "cheap", but you can find comfort in that you'll surely get another result on the next playthrough!
