Royce's Chimera was developed as an entry for the 2014 Indie Game Development Contest.

Royce is a young mage in training who is part of a loving family. One night, he and his older brother are separated from their parents, and disaster strikes. Royce finds himself trapped in a strange world where there isn't even a glimmer of light, with powers that he wouldn't have wished for in his darkest nightmares. There, he meets a most unusual companion for a young boy.

The game revolves around Royce's journey through Chimera, the world of darkness. He finds himself there without really knowing why or how he got there. Yet, from the moment he takes one step forward, it seems something sinister is guiding his every move. Armed with only his fledgling magic, Royce must brave Chimera's dangers and unstable terrain as he finds his way back home.

Game has two paths and two possible endings.

Well, I'd like to give this is a go, but it still doesn't have a download. When can we expect one?
"...an unusual equipment system", can you elaborate on that?

You can grab a copy of the download from the contest page, but yes it should be linked here as well.

In case someone wants to play this.

Well I wouldn't have minded adding a short review for this one, but since the developer never got around to adding a download to the page I'll just have to make a few comments.

The game isn't a masterpiece by any standards, but given that it was made by a what I believe to be a fledgling developer it wasn't bad either. It had a lot of the issues that new developers seems to fall prey to, balance being a major problem, and quite a lot of mapping errors and general issues with use of space, or actually overuse of space. Still the premise isn't a bad one a kind of Everyman story where the protagonist doesn't act like the chosen one or the hero with all the answers, he's just an ordinary guy thrown into an very abnormal situation and has to learn to make his way through unfamiliar territory to try and find a way back home. I liked that part of the characterisation. It's a shame that they rest of the game was pretty average, and the ending (I only played one) was fairly predictable.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants something in-depth, but if you feel like a bit of mindlessness for an hour or so, it's not a terrible choice.
