GIVER OF STIGMA

In today's short edition of "making OMNIS":

A screenshot of my current WIP; a pitcher plant with changeable 'lust' for the pollen of different coloured flowers bred into it.

At the risk of repeating myself (see previous blog entry), the idea for this puzzle section is that, once you give the pitchers the stamen they're..."lusting"...for, they relax their vines and lower drawbridges, allowing you to progress.

I have a plan for creating vines, wrapped around the walkways, that animate and withdraw, allowing the drawbridges to fall. That'll be tomorrow's job methinks.

For the rest of today's work, here's a screengrab of the whole forest sample-map.
For funzies?

At the risk of establishing another ultimately missed Kickstarter deadline, I believe that this is the last new area I'm going to develop before we get the funding process underway.

#tense.

Well, the thing with the plants seems pretty interesting. I wonder how do I know what pollen they lust for, if it has something to do with colors (yellow vs purple... complementary maybe?).

Aaaaaand good luck with the Kickstarter! I believe this deserves the green light (wait, that's from Steam!).

I think it's gonna be something to do with getting a certain kind of pheromone on you when you approach a randy pitcher. I'm gonna give some serious thought to this - puzzle creation isn't my strong suit but I don't want this to be a simple kind of match B with A and C with D affair.

And thanks for the nudge there man, for both KS and Greenlight. We've got Steam in our sights, but we don't want to risk building up a support base of increasingly impatient or going-off-the-boil fans.

I should add, I realise that I often flit schizophrenically between "I" and "we", but I assure y'all that there is a team (of humans) working hard on OMNIS and that they're not just figments of my pysche :)

Do you know the Propagators from FFVIII? How if you didn't kill them in colour-pairs they'd just regenerate?
