Played the first five minutes and loving it. Lots more later. Sweet gamepage, btw.

Edit 1: I found a couple bugs. When you use the Brotherhood or Retaliate Skill, the game seems to semi-freeze until you press the action button again on the Skill option, where the cursor is stuck. This happens with Critical Drive too, actually. Oh, actually derp...this is probably just the step of targeting the user, isn't it? It's hard to tell without face portraits or anything being highlighted for the player characters.

The second one is not really a bug, just an aesthetic thing. When the guy with the SMG (can't remember if it's Kumo or Levi right at the moment) attacks, the "firing a bunch of bullets" animation plays three times, indicating he is firing three bunches of bullets and making three attacks. I think you're using the Yanfly Battle Engine Ace, right? If you are, you should be able to insert the <one animation> notetag into the comment box for that attack/skill in order to make only one "bunch of bullets" animation play, but he will still do damage three times.

Edit 2: I was thinking that this game was too easy, and then I got into one of the fights with the enemies you can avoid and got my ass handed to me. Youch.

Edit 3: And now I'm starting to worry that said fight is actually unbeatable.
: /

Edit 4: Annnnnd then this happened.

I had my guys use 'Retaliate' and 'Brotherhood' and the big sasquatch monster cast a fire spell on us and then the game crashed with this.

Edit 5: Annnnnd occured again with the Guardian Mech using Zap on us when we had Retaliate and/or Brotherhood up. Gonna take a break from playing this one until there are some bugfixes in. : (

Did you download the new version? I didn't catch that bug til the last minute but I removed it in the RTP independant version. Sorry about that!

And yeah the selection cursor isn't ideal. The HUD is designed for animated battlers so there's a bit of incongruity with the temporary front view system.

Hey Puddor, I finally got around to playing ReCrisis like I said I would and have a decent list of notes I took while playing. A lot of it is nitpicking, but I hope they'll be useful to you in some way:

- Oh we're starting! I think some kind of urging from either character would be helpful. Maybe just a simple, "Let's go,".

- Wierd bug happens when I choose equipment and switch to different characters

- Weird function. Cellphone = Formation? Hopefully that'll be covered later, but right now it seems rather odd.

- Interesting decision of having the text boxes jump all over the place. Can I ask why you choose to do it like that?

- The pronunciation of Levi in the journal is slightly immersion-breaking.

- Holy crap I can run fast! Almost don't even need the dash button! Perhaps check the Disable Dashing option for each map?

- The sound effect for damage is rather odd. Isn't that the punch sound effect? Why that one? I am shooting things after all.

- Some movement on the map from the characters would go a long way. Like HERE http://gyazo.com/4d20b3a09eae956bff4a92bfe1106a51 for example. Why can't Kumo turn around and look at Levi when he's calling him out?

- The text that talks about the Bio particle dissembler covers the actual device. It would be great to be able to look at it while learning about it.

- Buckle up Fuckboys.

- It seems weird that the party would get nervous about something, "not human," in the facility since we just mopped the floor with plenty of non-human things earlier.

- A custom curser on the battle screen would be helpful. The default cursor that comes with the Luna Engine (I assume that's what you're using) is partially covering the character's names.

- These battles are way too easy, especially against the dogs. I can beat them with basic attacks before they can even hit me. The biggest offender is Kumo. The man is seriously OP. He can hit THREE times with his basic attack? Why is Levi even here?

- To be honest, I don't think I used that many skill because of it. I never used Magic or even Limit because I could breeze through enemies just by continuously pressing space to do basic attacks. Even the enemies I was supposed to sneak past didn't last more than 2 turns because of attacking.

- 90% of the balancing issues could be solved by lowering Kumo's attack stat or having his basic attack hit twice instead of three times.

- I like the chemistry between Levi and Kumo. They seem to be a good foil for each other.

- How can Levi talk about creatures water composition? I'd like to know where he's getting that information from, especially about enemies ahead that I haven't even seen yet!

- Visually, this game is incredible. I'm sure you've been told this numerous times, but yeah, I love the aesthetics here.

- Boss fight was... not that interesting. I could spam attack and win.

- I saved and tried to quit the game to write some more notes, but the game Crash. This is the error I got: http://gyazo.com/5788e22a32f563ee5e5dbc8cd84dbc71

- However, when I rebooted the game and did the same thing, it didn't crash. Weird.

- The water cooler didn't transform after an animation played. Intentional?

- We're all looking near that water cooler http://gyazo.com/199ac16f8f518afa0b90051a059e547c . I feel like something was supposed to be there, but I see nothing.

- That jump from the lab to the apartment was a bit jarring.

And that about covers it. Overall, I like what you have going here. For me, personally, it feels a little... unfocused. Having a diverse range of skills isn't very useful if you can just spam attack and win, as I don't feel very accomplished that way. If the skills made the enemy more vulnerable to basic attacks, inflicted debuffs, or were required to use if basic attacks inflicted little to no damage, I would feel more justified in using them. No, I didn't go out of my way to grind. I was only level 3 by the time I beat it.

This project definitely looks interesting, so I'll keep my eye on this.

Yeah the balancing is really off. I'm working on addressing it, but battles ended up being the last thing I did, and it really shows unfortunately :C

I really appreciate this feedback though! A lot of the things you've mentioned can mostly be chalked up to time constraints (I started two weeks late) but it's really helpful for the overall progress of the game.

You're the first person to mention Levi's dialogue about water composition, interestingly enough!

Essentially, Levi has very strong abilities when it comes to water (he's water elemental where Kumo is Core- it's why he's weak to Lightning). He can't actively use them too much because they're very exhausting (something that will come into his skillset in later releases), but he has ""passive"" abilities as well, like sensing water sources.

The powers Levi and Kumo hold are the main reason they're such effective mercenaries despite their ages.

I'm glad the feedback was helpful for you. It sounds like you've put some real thought into the story explanation behind the character's abilities. That's great to hear! With some polishing of the battles themselves, this will be a great game!

Really? So most people can just tell what another life form's water composition so they don't think it's odd? Why can't I do that!?

In all seriousness, it stuck out to me because I'm used to people detecting others by the usual methods: Power level, heat signatures, sound, etc. So when I saw, "Water composition?" I had to actually reload the file to make sure I read that right. It's unique, I'll give you that!

If that's true, then I would suggest balancing the game around the use of those powers. I'm sure you're already two steps ahead of me in that aspect, but I just thought I'd put in the suggestion anyway.

Yeah, I'm planning on it. Kumo's Core abilities aren't very strong, while Levi is the opposite but becomes very drained very quickly if he uses them in access (blood mage, essentially).

I did have to cut something from the original draft of Episode Zero that portrayed Kumo's powers a bit more explicitly, but I'll probably be adding it back in when I release it with the animated sprites.

But yeah, I was waiting for someone to ask! I felt it was a pretty odd line and (I'd assume) most people can't sense living beings via their water composition, so the fact it got no inquiries made me raise an eyebrow (I suppose people expect an explanation as the game progresses?)

There's a little bit more to it all, but that's something to be covered plot wise and as their abilities develop.
