Introduction

Well now, this is a new record for me. I started this game about 5 minutes go, and here I am writing a review. Honestly, there isn't too much to go off of, but the creator wanted feedback and a ranked score. So here goes.

Graphics

Pretty standard tilesets plus original artwork. The artwork is simple, basic, and effective. I'd like to see more artists use quick sketches like this in games.

Music & Sound

The music is nice. There are two songs total. The only fault is that the title song is also used as the first song in-game, which in my opinion feels a little hokey. There are footstep sounds when walking, which is nice, but no sound when ascending or descending stairs.

Presentation

Uncommon. There is no real plot. This game is like a doodle on your notes in math class. Most of the dialogue is random, verbose, or breaks the 4th Wall. There are a number of spelling and grammatical errors which may or may not be artistic license.

While the artwork is cool, it could be displayed much better. Transitions between pictures are clunky, which leads me to believe that the creator may not be very familiar with the Maker.

Overall, the game feels a little empty. It was, I believe, intended to feel empty, but it is probably still a bit too bare bones. With just some slight touch-ups here and there, it could feel "complete."

I didn't like the game because I don't like random gore and violence. It is a quick work of shock value. But, nevertheless, it has the artwork and music going for it. So, I've tried not to let my distaste for it get in the way of being objective. Give it a shot if you're a fan of things macabre.

My Notes (Spoilers)

Title Music: Emotive. Empty, suddenly strange

“somewhere nice, perhaps” double spacing between “somewhere” and “nice”

Very strange and unfitting music for their conversation. And it is always strange to have the first tune of the game be the same as the title screen too.

Walking sound effects are a nice touch.

Bed and pillows at base of bed are passable.

Strange, strange commentary on most things.

Breaking 4th wall when interacting with the couch. Generally throws off immersion, which you want in a horror game.

Why did the bookshelf warp me to a new scene?

Storys -- stories

the rule is that punctuation goes inside quotations:

unneeded apostrophe

Everynight

Ending: Um… Yeah…
