Devlog 50

Wow devlog 50 already! No way! Hey guys this week i’ve been touching up on rope mechanics which as always has problems :(

The speed the grapple shoots out is too fast to pick up when it has reached a plug which means it either misses the plug completely or the plug isn’t as fast as I would like, because of this you get the bounciness you see in the gif so it still have improvements to be made.

Also added door mechanics which looks pretty sweet:

Hey, guys! I spent some time this week prepping for the trailer. did some sketching on how the video might open with some really basic ideas. I’ve changed the spreadsheet with the play-by-play a few times, and the toughest part seems to be boiling down what exactly STG is into about a minute of ideas.

I sort of lose track of time sometimes.

I re-did the dangerous sun:

I did the splash animation (that was hard and it took a while):

Explored some character design for Doctor Dough:

I'm working on animating the water at the moment as well.

I spent some time discussing the KS with Goulven and Greg as well.

Not much else to say  :). The demo of the bathroom has advanced heaps so I don't think it should be too long before we start testing things out.

Goulven is busy constructing the bathroom stage and has made significant progress throughout the week. So busy, in fact, that he forgot to do his devlog.

Why do you want to get involved in the video game industry?

I've been a pretty hardcore gamer most of my teenagehood, where games were, for me, a way to deal with pretty acute loneliness. I don't think it was the "right" way to deal with it but it did alleviate the pain of being alone for many, many hours.

I rarely play games now and I'll only play to the very special one, the odd one out. I think that, with the hundreds of games I've played, I have a solid experience as to what is fun and what isn't when it comes to video games. That and I really like drawing pixels.

So there you have it!
