Vampires are creatures that live amidst the darkness of eternal night. They have absolutely no regard for human lives and treat them like stones to be kicked away.
One night, a girl was running in a forest while being chased by three bandits. Then a black-clothed man passed by and subsequently took them down easily. The girl, who thought she was saved by him, wanted to repay him and thus invited him to her village.
......The man, who was actually a vampire, smiled and accepted her invitation. After all, the more prey, the merrier......
Nocturne: Rebirth (月夜に響くノクターン Rebirth) is a popular 10 to 20-hour (story-wise) dark fantasy JRPG originally created using RPG Maker XP in 2009 by Shou (or Cogwheel) and translated into English by me, eplipswich. It is actually the remake of the game Nocturne created using RPG Maker 2000 way back in 2002. The differences between the two include new graphics and a new battle system, with only the story virtually unchanged. This version serves as the English version of Nocturne: Rebirth. It is also my second game translation after Seraphic Blue.
Nocturne: Rebirth is notable for
- A highly original ATB battle system
- Touch-based enemy encounters
- Slick battle animations
- A highly versatile character levelling system via skill upgrades
- Unique Familiar Summon System
- Almost 100% custom graphics
- Characters that players can sympathize with
- Unique soundtracks

Aww well that's a little disappointing, well at least as you get new familiar's they usually have the same skills but higher if not more as well if it's a similar familiar.

Hi! My name is nightshade and I've started playing the game today for about a few minutes to like almost a half hour earlier today. So my issue with the game right now is that it's not saving properly when I close out of the game. Like I tested it at the very beginning of the game where I would save a file and closed out of it properly but shutting down from the main menu, but when I go to open back up the game to continue where I left off I can't find my save file and my continue would not continue. So I want to know how I can fix this or if I should just not play it because I don't want to spend all my time progressing for hours just to end up having to start over the next day because your program won't save properly. Sorry if the last part sounded rude, but please and thankyou.

I just killed the Boss in the dungeon on the Hill Cross or so :o
And now Reviel gets constantly damage in fights even though he dosen't get attacked. And he loses hp when he attacks one enemie even tough he didn't lose anything before.

Do you have something like Ignard, Aqualad, Windea, Thornix, or Testafa equipped onto Reviel? Those swords take off about 8 or so hp per sword and I believe Testafa takes off 10. Those are the swords with an element.
If it's one of those swords you can lower the damage by equipping an accessory of the same element, so like if you have Ignard equipped you could equip Fire Ring to lower the damage.

@hajroo: Refer to this link: http://rpgmaker.net/games/7809/?post=698708#post698708. Make sure you have changed your computer language to English via this method. If it still doesn't work, let me know.
@nightshade18: Make sure you unzip the file before playing. Right click the file and select "Extract All". Then play the game within the extracted folder.

Hello I just want to ask how to access the optional boss fight? The one before you face the final boss? I have been running inside Khaos' house and had been clicking into things but to no avail. A screen shot would be nice nevertheless any help will be great for me. Thanks.

Have you already defeated the final boss? You have to defeat the final boss with Brave Clear before you can access the optional boss.
Once you do that, credits will roll and you won't be prompted to save. But after the credits rolled, the optional boss fight will be unlocked.
Then check a chair in Khaos' house to access a secret area. You'll have to bypass one guy first before you can enter a room where the optional boss is ;) Good luck!

Is that so? I must reset my skills becoause I have made my characters' levels above 35. Well, thanks for the info and translating more awesome indie games:-)
Aw, it seems that I cannot access the optional boss even if I reset my stats. You see, I had finished the final boss over leveled before, then I got the credits and unlockables (CG, sprites and musics). Then the credits rolled, accessed save files as usual, next I went to Khaos' residence but alas, no hidden area to enter. I don't feel sad though, I like the game to a certain extent that it doesn't matter even if I didn't unlock it.

Hmm, have you tried interacting with the big chair from all sides? It ought to unlock (something should happen to the chair). If it's still not clear, I'll PM you a screenshot of it :)
And I'm glad that you enjoyed this game! :) As for Seraphic Blue, it's more story-driven with a very convoluted plot, so I hope you enjoy it :)

Just to confirm that when you changed your computer language, are you prompted to restart the computer?
Check here: https://youtu.be/YLvKXUeoKtA?t=1m32s and watch from 1:32 to 1:48. Change the computer language to "English (United Kingdom)" or "English (United States)" from there. You should be prompted to restart.

best most unexpected moment on my new file. made preperations, saved just before the boss of mystic forest, made plans of what familiar gets what sorcery.
okay I'm good lets start the battle,
unexpected, how many bosses aren't resisted toThe Ultimate Technique in this game? lol
edit: so I saved in a new slot just incase and went back now I can't do it again, just keeps missing lol but it's possible xD
so many missedUltimate Techniques idk what made me even do it in the first place lol
just because, I had to go back and beat him normally.
okay I'm good lets start the battle,
I used the ultimate technique to absolutely annihilate the boss, a technique so powerful it scattered his entire being across and infinite amount of different dimensions but the technique is so powerful that the chances of it being repeated in the history of the universe is on an unimaginably low scale that it may never happen again and the technique is so powerful if repeated a second time it will rip the entirety of time and space inside out and cause it to collapse in on itself into absolute nothingness as if it never existed to begin with.
