1. Introduction
----------------
Dragoon Legends is an amateur Role Playing Game with 100% original art assets made by Polish community member Kazukeri. I (Brandon Abley) had helped him with the POlish translation and wrote the English script, and also wrote an original soundtrack for the game, so I was heavily involved with him through production. He sent me a series of betas as he worked through the project.

Unfortunately, he disappeared in June 2007 after sending me this almost complete beta. He never replied to any of my emails or went online after that and never updated his website. I have tried to contact him several times and have been unable to. Ironically, his last blog post title is: "I'm Alive!", which I am legitimately in question of.

So, I thought that since this is an excellent amateur game, and also because I put a lot of work into it myself, I should release it in his stead.

THIS IS A BETA. It is not perfect. Save often because it might crash occassionally. Everything is an almost-complete rough draft, including the game mechanics, script, and music. It is 100% playable though and I have gone through the entire thing a couple of times. It is pretty fun!

2. Game
--------
This is an extremely traditional role-playing game in the Japanese style. It should be pretty straightforward. There is a game manual included which, while pretty sparse, tells you which buttons to push.

This is chapter 1 of the game and is 2-3 hours long. It ends with an extremely cool boss encounter that is really a step above anything else in chapter 1. A fitting conclusion!

Key functions are as follows:

A: Action
S: Cancel, Run
Q: Menu

F5: Windowed Mode
F6: Fullscreen Mode

Esc: Close Program

DO NOT PRESS ESC UNLESS YOU WANT TO CLOSE TO PROGRAM. TRY VERY HARD NOT TO PRESS IT. There is no prompt and the game will close instantly. I have quit the game many times pressing Esc thinking it might open the menu.

3. Credits
----------
Kazukeri:
Game, Art, Programming, Direction, Story, Translation from Polish

Brandon Abley:
Original Soundtrack, Translation from Polish, English Script

Just to reiterate guys, I worked on this game but I did not make it. I did not do half of the work, I was not a full partner, etc. I did a small portion of the work and was involved with the game and am really sad to see it vanish into the ether, so I thought I would add the game to the site for all of you. Maybe it will bring Kazukeri out of hiding!

Ive been waiting for this for God knows how long.. Great to see it back!
I have received reports that Kazukeri is indeed alive, somewhere, so . . . maybe this will urge him out of hiding. I would like nothing more than for him to ask me to take it down <3
Holy Crap! A download is out. I'm going to download this, if even just for the sound track!
Hey myers and Eijin . . . did you ever play this? <3 <3
Is there some special way to play this game? I downloaded it, but have no idea how to play it :I (The only executable is a shortcut)
It keeps freezing after the cutscene following the Mandragan boss battle. Any suggestions?
wait a min, how could I miss this? This looks so awesome...
Is there any luck with finding Kazukeri yet? It's been almost seven months now.
is the end of ch. 1 end after the 1st boss fight? you know, were just dug the graves?

The game crashes after digging the graves, it was intended to last a bit longer iirc
Did you fight the giant robot? As I recall, that's around the very end of the thing. There might be more, but I have no idea. This is just the latest internal beta that I happened to have at the time . . . Kazukeri hasn't been seen for years. He just stopped appearing on the internet one day. I really do worry that something happened to him.
I must thank Brandon for sharing our project after all this time. I must apologize for not putting this project anywhere myself. I was busy with real life problems (collage) and I didn't have time for game projects. I'm happy to see that anyone played this game. I hope that in the future I will once again start making games, but this time a lot better ones. Oh and my blog is dead, stupid free hosts, I should think about a new one.

Cheers,
Kazukeri
Can we add kazukeri as developer?
I don't think there is a need for that, as for the crashes after first boss, there could be a lot of reasons, I'm unable to give any support, the project was created and tested on windows xp.
Heya kazukeri, why don't you continue this project? This game is better/ could be than 95% of the games in this this site...

Anyway, I'm getting an error "can't load ModFX.DLL", anyone know how to fix this? or where I might be able to download such DLL? Also I get that freeze after the mandragora boss, and I'm running on windpws xp...any clue why this error is happening?
just played the game. When i entered the first cafe i got an popup message and i can click it away. But its pops back after a battle so i stopt playing. But the engine/graphics looks very good.
