Yberia's Heir, the young Prince de Campanya, oft goes into the towns and villages of the kingdom in disguise as a common adventurer. In this way, he can defend the fortunes of his people discreetly - which is enough reason for his father King Tomas to approve of the practice.

But on one such incognito adventure, while checking into an inn at the sleepy port town of Madoro, the town comes under attack by pirates. Pirates from Yberia's allies in the desert nation of Zehir, to the south, along the Great Leyline of Fire.

...And unravel a vast conspiracy that would make nations, princes, and dragons alike pawns in their great game.

It's too bad for Yberia's enemies that they forgot what happens when a pawn reaches the end of the board. Especially when they angered one who would be King - and one who would be Queen.

  • A grand bildungsroman plot where, as the Prince of Yberia travels through his corner of the wide world of Mundus and encounters its nations as he finds out who he is - and who his friends and his enemies are.

  • Form relationships, romantic and otherwise with your party. They will remember how you act in a crisis, and grant you the regard and respect you deserve - given the virtues you champion.

  • Customize your characters in your choice of powerful ways with the Multiclass System. Each character has access to multiple classes, each with different stat growth on level up and access to unique unlockable skills on each class tree. You choose how the party develops and what equipment and skills they master.

  • Turn Based Strategic Combat. You input your party's actions as they get them, without assigning actions in advance for the entire party. Use ranged weapons and spells to attack safely from your back row or to strike enemies protected by their front lines. Intelligent foes will take advantage of states, heal allies and focus on weak party members to make every combat a challenge.

  • Enemies use the same rules you do. Every enemy type has a class and can appear at different levels. Humanoids use the same equipment and classes as your party. The majority of skills are usable by the party and their enemies alike.

  • Steal from enemies! Every item a monster can drop can be stolen from them as well - and if you take equipment they're using, this will weaken them considerably.

  • Recurring boss battles against a rival team of adventurers, Radulf's Wolves - lead by none other than Ralph. Let's face it, who here doesn't want to beat the stuffing out of Ralph?

  • Explore the landscape for resources to create potions, food and magic items. Crafting is a cheap way to expand your inventory for those with the skills and time.

Base Class Summary: Savant, Warrior, Rogue, Mystic

So first off sorry for the delay in release. Some bugs are surprise, surprise, holding up the full version and my other work has kept me busy. However to not keep you all in too much suspense I'm giving a run down of the base classes today and will be putting up a playable demo this evening.

As some of you may have guessed Prince and Dragon takes a lot of inspiration from older RPGs. In fact the game rules were originally drawn up for a tabletop tactical game before becoming the setting of Prince and Dragon.

The classic RPG usually features a physical warrior class, a crafty class that uses guile, and at least one spellcasting class, usually two with one focusing on offense and the other on defense.

The Prince and Dragon universe keeps to this structure. These basic classes are available to all humanoids. In the tabletop game other classes become available for your team based on your faction and their races and abilities. In the Prince and Dragon roleplaying game each character can pick from 3 classes, a mix of base classes and those granted by their background. These are the classes that best suit the character and how they are likely to develop... but in New Game+ you will always be able to select any base class for any character.

So now that you have some idea how these classes work let's go over them:

Rogue

The Rogue is a technical class with a combination of physical attacks, evasive abilities and item gathering. They are associated with the element of Earth. The Rogue is the only class that can learn to stealing abilities that can take equipment from enemies during a fight.

The Rogue has high Agility and Wits giving them incredible accuracy and good odds of inflicting states on others and resisting attempts to put negative states on them.

  • Two Weapoon Strike: Passive, allows a second weapon to be equipped in the offhand.

  • Hide: Hidden characters are much harder to hit and are more effective when performing certain moves, but attacking is likely to remove the Hidden state.

  • Pickpocket: Attempts to steal a non-equipped item from the target

  • Disarm: Attempts to steal an equipped weapon from the target

  • Finesse: Focus Mode, gain additional focus at the start of every fight and when evading attacks.

  • Anatomy: Passive, increases critical hit chance and damage healed when using bandages

  • Stealth: Passive, reduces the chance of being revealed when attacking while hidden.

  • Foraging: Increases the odds of finding equipment after battles

  • Back Stab: Inflicts extra damage based on Wits and additional damage when used while hidden

Mystic

The Mystic is a magical class with a mix of healing skills, buff skills and magic negation. They are associated with the element of Water. The Mystic is the only class that can learn to revive characters during a fight without using an item.

The Mystic has high Presence giving them good defense and powerful healing. They also gain Mana and Stamina fairly quickly.

  • Channeling : Passive, increases maximum Mana and Magic Evasion.

  • Pharmacology: Passive, increases effectiveness of potion items used by the character.

  • Healing Rain: Restore some health to all team members and remove Immolated and Bleeding states.

  • (Restore) Sanity: Removes Confusion, Enraged and Possession states.

  • Resurgence: Increases magic evasion and Resolve.

  • Mana Shield: Activates Mana Shield, while active half of damage is instead applied to Mana at a rate of 1 Mana per 2 Health.

  • Lifeblood: Buffs the Health of the target and heals them slightly.

  • Earthquake: Damages all non-flying foes.

  • Holy Ground: Removes all other Field States and add Holy Light as a Field State, giving all combatants the Light elemental damage type.

Warrior

The Warrior is a melee class with an array of physical attacks and passive abilities. They are associated with the element of Fire. The Warrior is the most directly aggressive class.

The Warrior has high Vitality, Health and Stamina to better handle themselves in melee.

  • (Warrior’s ) Focus: Passive, gain 1 Focus per round.

  • Dominance:Focus Mode, gain focus whenever an enemy character is downed in combat

  • Discipline: Passive, reduces the duration when affected by Enrage, Confusion or Possession states.

  • Second Wind: Gain 30 Focus, Only usuable once per fight and after 5 rounds

  • Charge: A rushing attack that does extra damage based on Stamina

  • Blade Dance: Repeatidly attack targets until a miss or Focus is depleted.
  • Precision Strike: Increases the chance of a critical hit and the critical multiple for one attack.
  • Cleave: Randomly attack 3 melee targets.

    Savant

The Savant is an offensive magical class with an array of elemental attacks and utility spells. They are associated with the element of Air. The Savant has the most effect crowd control spells.
The Warrior has high Intellect and Mana to empower their magical attacks.

  • Invisibility: Hides the target.
  • Blink: Instantly change rows on the field without spending an action.
  • Light: Attempts to blind a target; out of combat illuminates dark areas.
  • Wildfire: Applies Immolation as a Field State, inflicting fire damage to all combatants each turn.

Hello.
When i talk to nun in Madoro church, she says she can supply with holy water for a small donation. But its no buy option just sell and cancel.

EDIT:And what stands Enc for?

EDIT2 :This is strange, when i leave the boat and goes in to Madoro ,the boat kind of follows me in and when i goes out agin to take the boat it isnt there because it is in Madoro beside the guy that ask if you need directions.I can jump in the boat but it doesnt move.Just the paddles.
The nun and ability to enter Madoro by ship are bugs. Good catch, they are fixed in my copy now and will be updated in the next upload. This is why it's beta.

Enc is Encumberance. Basically how much you can carry.

random thoughts
the castle was heavily inspired by/edited from a existing commonly seen map :D

the guy on the right chair said talk to your dad not your papa. but they are the same thing!
oh...never mind

are most if not all maps just premade with edits?

odd how many items (like the food at the store) do not have descriptions

so neither of the 2 guys are your parents and you're not living with your mother who is in town because?

i love how the scene scenes bring you across the world map and town!

i am glad you keep your level when changing your class

not sure if its because its a demo but not all skills are learnable.
its not clear why you cannot learn some skills despite having enough lp to learn them.
as far as i can tell changing your class does not do anything
do you only get lp for the class you currently have equipped?
so you cannot learn everything?

i wish we could disable the mouse. i dont like it

optimize doesn't work with accessory's.

the mapping for the first town you travel to can be improved a bit. some unnecessary areas like the entrance of the town for example.
theres no reason to go there so it should be blocked off.

mermaid?! :D

sadly i cant take this anymore. missing attacks is annoying i am not even blind >.>

theres also alot of cutoff text

General 1H 45M dropped (did not enjoy)
This was a okay experience. tho i don't get why theres so much content for battle skills and such without having a way to grind to unlock it.
enemies as far as i can tell anyway don't respawn (could be wrong) tho i am referring more to the world map after the first crisis is dealt with.

the mapping could be condensed more. cut off excess areas.
i didn't get to see enough of the plot and characters to really judge it but what i did see was good.
the grammar/dialog needs a good amount of work tho. lots of cut of text most of which were in skill descriptions/items

Overall
i have mixed feelings for this one. all i can say is it needs a good amount of work.

The first map is modified from a default castle. Our lead writer set up the early dialog in there and overhauling it was low priority. As far as I am aware the initial castle area has the only maps based on a default maps in use. I may not be aware however as their are several maps and I didn't check each map against the defaults. I know at least one LOOKS like a bit like a standard map but is from scratch... however that region isn't accessible in the demo.

The complex back story of the Prince's adoption is clearly not well conveyed in the current version. Noted.

Forgive but given the mixed review I have to ask, is this sarcastic? Removing direct control of player movement for any period of time has been a hot topic and while many like it some find it incredibly obnoxious. My hope was to use it to speed the initial plot along and prevent the player getting lost along a way that the character should know well.

The text manual draft didn't make it into the download and I guess the in game explanation is lacking.

All skills are learnable. I think the ones you are thinking of belong to classes you have no points in. You get points in the class when you level up with it chosen. You can learn each class by switcing between level ups.

I'll be fixing up the demo and included a revised manual draft in the next version. Thank you for your very helpful feedback.
This game is agonizing. There is an excruciatingly high miss rate for the regular attack, probably close to 50%, what a tragedy. My party cant even go more than 1 battle without someone going down, and since the enemies dont seem to respawn, thats basically EXP thats lost permanently so I have to reset the game. Enemies focus fire on low HP party members so after several resets I found it impossible to keep everyone alive for more than 1 battle, and one fight doesnt cover inn costs. The priest's heal skill is a joke. Sometimes an enemy gets a random crit of about 110 damage which is an instant kill. Nonrespawning encounters make it almost mandatory to fight every enemy, and when its this luck dependent i run out of patience fast. Didnt get very far in this game.
