Catch new updates on this game and more at http://legionwood.wordpress.com!

Note: Fair warning, this game is going on five years old, and I wrote it when I was 15 or 16 years old. As such, the story does get a bit cheesy towards the end and there might be inconsistencies/unlikely character quirks, minor spelling errors etc.

One Night is a survival horror game made in RPG Maker VX, released in late 2009. It holds the dubious honour of being the very first survival horror game made for the engine.

A frightening Resident Evil-esque experience, One Night challenges you to escape from "The Complex", a crumbling, abandoned research facility while being hunted mercilessly by the remnants of a long forgotten experiment.

Relentless monsters and difficult puzzles await around every corner - can you survive the horror?

One Night is now available on Mac!

Hot on the heels of the Legionwood Mac port that was released last week, One Night has now been ported to Mac OS thanks to the efforts of the Jammed Gears Productions team, finally making it possible to enjoy some good old fashioned survival horror on a MacBook.

I don't know anything about Macs or how to make RPG Maker games run on them, but one thing I know is that a lot of Mac users have emailed me over the years asking if a Mac port of One Night was available. It's nice to know that these people are now able to play the game and discover what they've been missing.

The Mac version of the game is available to download here. You can also check it out in this Youtube video:

A very good game that obviously was influenced by Resident Evil and the idea of a survival game established in an abandoned facility in the middle of nowhere.

Did you ever imagine to be Chris Redfields, but without the guns and only a calculator? No? Welcome to One Night. All puzzles are solved by pen, paper and maths. It's not a bad thing at all, because at least, One Night has better puzzles than RE, but sometimes the only thing you want to do is to continue.
Well armed story, "find & continue items" as the inner engine of the progression in the game is very, very well developed and you are easily inmerged into the most pure Survival Horror thing. As the limitations of a rpgmaker made game, this is all what we have, and It is very good.

Spoilers:

Personally, the idea of having the dragon universe is quite shitty cause is very unbelievable, not for the fact of being dragons (even if they are unicorns, I don't give a damn), but It seems to have been planned so quickly for only having something that had to explain the experiments made in the complex. Not to say all that "physic stuff" that were possible to create the merge of different realities, not only is fantastic af, but It feels so dull. If you are inspired by something, at least, make your thing a little different. It seems that you had the survival thing in your mind (very well prepared) but seeing no way to continue, It was better to introduce some "explanations".

And about Tiffany, well, She is a good character for nothing, sometimes she will help us, but only 1 or 2 times. She acts so artificial or unnatural, the same as the villain in the base. Who is that guy? Ok, later dragonBoss will tell us that was one of his subordinates, but, that's all? Oh boy, the characters in this game are simpler than to open a door. Nigga, put more effort in the guys I'm gonna kill later or, to fall in love with, like Tiffany, god damm that fucking drama at the end....

Gonna mark this with a 7/10 cause if you don't bother about anything more, the game itself is well made.

Hello! I played this game recently, along with its sequels, and I absolutely loved it! It's safe to say it's one of my favorite games now. I have a couple of questions, if that's okay! First, is fanart allowed? And if so, could you please draw a colored, head to toe reference sheet of Colt?
I read that there is a best ending were I save Alex... I read that I need the fotograph and stay by him... When I returned to him the first time (after splitting up letting tiffany get the atoming destabilisator or something) My Character told her that he died smiling because he showed him the photograph we found earlier but Machani is dead anyway. After I beat the game with tiffany (had the anti.venom) game told me that I should try saving machani and also gave me the code for HARDMODE. So I went back and tried if there is a way to make machani look at the foto befor I go into the room with the plasma rifle but again no dice.

What did I do wrong? :(
Nah, take a shot at it now, if you like. The "prequel" has since become a brand new game tied to a completely new series :)
EDIT:

Wait a moment, I didn't know you were in the making of a prequel. I will wait for right now till it's done, and take a whole go on this series later. :)
Hi.

Yes, there are a couple of chasing scenes, but very few -- and they happen at scripted points in the game, not randomly.
Hello, My name is LynCross, and I was wondering if there is chasing scenes here because I'm planning to make a video of this fro my project. Thank you if you even answer.
A link has been added to the game's official website (as well as here). Thanks for the effort!
okay :D it'll be done in a few days time probably a week at most hehe
No, go ahead. I'm one of the people who requested it, myself. I get emails about making a Mac version all the time, but I know nothing about Macs so can't do it myself.
Would you mind if I make a mac port for this game? A few people requested this on my youtube channel

Jammed Gears
Yeah, it's complete from start to finish and has been for a while.
So the game's all fixed? I can Play it without any problems?
Not a bad vid. The imprompts at about 11 minutes helped liven up it a bit. :)
Thanks! I finished the first and working on the second. I only managed to record the first episode last night. Here's the link if you want to see it. Thanks again!
That's completely fine. Enjoy the game :)
I am currently making a gameplay/commentary of the game and I will post it on Youtube with your permission of course. So let me know if it's alright with you :3
Well, I hope you enjoy Legionwood when you get around to it. It was written around the same time as this game, so while the story is overall better written and more cohesive, you might still catch the occasional typo. Legionwood 2 is much improved, as it benefits from years of writing experience.

The embarrassment is not caused by you, though - it's merely a writer reflecting on old work and finding it not as good as he once thought it was.

I do appreciate your comments, however, and I'll probably go through One Night again soon and ease up on the monsters in the default difficulty setting.
