By the way, I'd reconsider the game title soon, if I were you. Also, downsize by removing unused files on each release, and try to convert your music files to .OGG - adding loop points would help the immersion a lot, as well.

Yeah, I learned how to loop ogg's on audacity for a side-project and when I update this game I'll be trying to reduce the filesize a lot. Some of the songs definitely need looped.

And I have been wanting to change the title for a while. I'm hoping as I flesh out the plot I can come up with an apropriate title.

Having the event check the region.

Alright, everything is acting exactly as I want it to. Thanks for the help.

What Engine?
Whoops, when I edited my post I took that out. I'm looking to do this in ace.

event.region_id == 1
I have no idea how to use ruby so I just kinda stuck that in a conditional branch. It crashed, I did a bit of googling and found this "$game_map.events.region_id == 56" and tried that as well but that also crashed. How was I supposed to be using that bit of code?

The regions here are what I want the events to react to.

Having the event check the region.

I need a way to make an event check what region it's standing on.
I thought 'get location info' would do what I wanted. But it didn't.

This is for Ace

Getting your Game out there - Where to post your game?

I'm actually interested in this topic as I'm quite new to all of this and have only posted my game here and on rpgmakerweb

How about the stairs in this one?

You have to give it some depth, right now your stairs look like a wall. Either have it go past the wall and into the floor, or start it before the wall starts.

What are you thinking about? (game development edition)

I feel like it's rude to not reply to people who said they liked my game, but on the other hand it feels cheap to just go 'thanks, glad you liked it' to each one.

I guess the only real way to respond to them is to just continue working on the game so they will have more of it to play. I just kind of feel like I'm ignoring them.

[Poll] Judging whether to download a game? What do you look for?

The number one thing I look for is whether or not it uses a side-view battle or the default vx front-view. It's a little silly but I just cannot enjoy battles in front-view and will almost always ignore games that use it.

After that it's usually the comments section, did people say they enjoyed it or not? That's what interests me.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

One minute I'm working on some meaningful dialogue in an inn, and the next I'm copying and pasting zombies over 90% of the town map.

Maybe I should just fill every piece of the grid with them.

Yeah, I was trying to make it look out of place so the player would notice it and remember it later in the game when they can go back and open the door.
