For some reason most of the time I write a story for my games I feel it is not good enough, This has nothing to do with what others say or think. What do you guys, and girls do if this how you feel about one you wrote?

Have you considered asking yourself what you don't like about it? Also, do you have anyone else look at it all and suggest anything?

I've got a game with a sub-story that has me worried, if, for no other reason, because the reaction so far to it has been "I don't understand this." I could write it off as a case of developer-knowledge versus player-knowledge. However, it is something I will want players to eventually sympathize with, and if they never get that understanding, would that not indicate that I'm failing as a writer?
Hey, I got a game on the backburner about a story about an overweight, sexual deviant of a police officer who’s married, has a small child, doesn’t really care that much about his job at all, hates his boss, hates the person that his boss hired for the job that he’s currently doing, has to save the financial district from collapse that he really doesn’t give two shits about personally but was put on assignment for it anyway, and along those lines he meets a white Buddhist monk who believes that the only inner peace comes from something that’s green and medicinal, and a Chinese hitchhiker that manages to mistake his police cruiser for a taxi cab and doesn’t speak really good English that well...

Now, do I believe that my story isn’t good enough for my own lofty standards? Absolutely! Can I come up with something a bit more sane and a bit more plausible than that? Errr…probably! Do I care what others people think about this twisted tale of mine? Well, I already spent enough time writing all this crap in the first place…so who cares.

But if you’re not entirely sure what others might think about your story, or if you have an issue about it and you might want a different opinion on it – why not ask somebody else about it around here? Maybe they might like your story and the direction that it’s going… Maybe more than one person might like it? Either way, as you’re currently making your game and going through all the different motions of creating it, you can always add, cut out, and adjust to your story as you go on. I mean, for the story above, I’ve had to cut out many things during the process of writing it, and even add and fix some lines of dialogue just to keep some things moving at a constant pace and not have each scene linger on too much.
Thank you guys, and girls. I will post the game update when I am done with the game. The story is complete, and the next game update for Mystic Knights will be the full complete game, but I will not mark it as complete just yet when I post it, to get feedback what changes need to be made.
