Why do I get so nervous. XD I don't really post much not because I'm afraid of what someone may say, but because I get shy sometimes. I don't know what to talk about half of the time. Some things I am just too nervous to ask, or talk about. Not sure why.

Could be social anxiety. That's the problem I have, which is why the majority of my posts are goofy shit. Which I don't really recommend as a coping mechanism in general, since that can get real annoying real quick if you don't have the right crowd.

Generally, just find topics you're into and post there. And maybe once in a while post the things you're nervous about anyway, because standing up to your fear is the most effective way of reducing it.
Yayyyyyys! Keep expressing yourself, and be sure that more people than you may suspect feel that way to some degree! XD <3 u're not alone

*hugs*
Possibly. What Sooz says.
Regardless of what it is - the only and best way to get more comfortable is to do it.
Your subconscious is telling you things are dangerous or bad when they are not. When you do things you usually feel good, sending the massage that this is in fact safe and kool. And that's what you want.
Calming yourself with meditative techniques to counter the negative feelings as/when they come up may help, too.

Either way, take it easy. It's okay

I totally get it, I used to be pretty nervous or shy (and still feel that way a lot, although I handle it better now)! But since you're being honest with yourself about it, you can start trying to tackle it :) Just taking it slow and learning to post and talk honestly, you'll get to a point where you feel more comfortable over time. It's a skill that takes practice and you can improve at it, like anything else :)

You're magical to me.

It's totally okay to be nervous! I get that way a lot! I just have to take a deep breath and type. Do things at your own pace and try not to worry too much. ^____^
I don't think it's just you. This community as a whole seems very reserved at times. Maybe it has something to do with every single member being an artsy-fartsy gam mak introvert not used to socializing.
Thank you. I might not seem nervous sometimes, but I actually am. Sometimes when I reply to a thread in the forum I feel like I killed the conversation because people stop posting in it sometimes after my post. I hope I am not the only who feels that way at times.

Ha!
No, you're not. I can assure you, you're not ;)
That's good, although I don't think anyone enjoys accidently killing a thread with their post, or think they did.

It's something you shouldn't worry about online! If anywhere you can be yourself here and not feel bad or shy about doing so.

Just get out there and get vocal!

Threads usually just die natural deaths (or sometimes go to sleep) as people run out of things to say. It's really unlikely that a single comment will kill a thread the way it can a conversation IRL, just because threads are usually a lot of different convos wound up together.

(Also I think people are more likely to argue with or make fun of bad posts, at least in some of the areas I go. RMN seems more in the former camp than the latter.)

I actually enjoy "killing" threads lol

It's like a won the thread or something :P
The best part about conversations that are not face-to-face is that you can be whoever you want to be, act however you want to act, and no one will bat an eye. You *might* get roasted if you're being rude or unreasonable, but that's a different thing all together (^_^;)

Every person wears a mask, to protect themselves. And the net provides a very strong mask for all. Don't be afraid to test it's strength; it's what it was made for in the first place.

Superfluous poetic shit aside, RMN's pretty docile compared to other communities I've been in. Most people here are old mature enough to keep level heads (usually). I'm not sure since when I've become a "regular", but I do remember how: Just hop in and join the fray.
I always kill threads, don't worry about it. (No, really, for a while there I thought I was a master of thread killing. Turned out that my hours didn't work well with others.)

Also, people aren't gonna just jump straight on and answer stuff straight after you post - there's a lot of reasons why. It might be a down time (weekends seem to be this for the most part) or your timezone might be off. They might be busy, they might not have anything to say in reply to your comment or just want to post later on (I do this - read a topic, keep the tab open to come back to later, then forget).

The internet is a scary place. Just don't think too much, but at the same time do. Most vocal members here on RMN are developers/artists. RMN is also not like a lot of other sites where people just post comments like "this best game evr make. 12/10!!". I think this is a good community for people who aim to learn and get better.

It can also be tough for us when developers/people only care about originality/custom stuff just for the sake of it. Also, if you disagree with someone's opinion on the internet, that person will probably hate and want to kill you.

EDIT: Also, most people on here and other sites dislike/hate me because I use RTP graphics in my games. Because of this, I'm afraid to join community events because no one would ever want to work with a sinner like me. Also, my English is absolutely terrible; literally a lost cause. I'm a stubborn person though, so I won't give up/lose motivation that easily.

Dude RTP stuff is like 70% of this entire site. There is no reason to hate you.
Uh, my title is RTP Princess and I never get hell for my love of RTP (bar when some of us discuss carpets and the tree canopies, but that's less hate and more difference of opinion/playful teasing). People don't have to like the RTP, but hating on those who use it is pretty uncommon around these parts, as far as I've seen. Like Ratty said, most of the games on the site are RTP based so while there's definitely an over-exposure, there's not really hate bar in a few topics where discussion about how it fails occur (and that's aimed at the actual graphics, not the people using them.)

As for wanting to kill someone over a disagreement? Maybe on stupid forums and the idiot part of the internet. Not here, and not in the RPG Maker scene, as far as I've noticed.

I mean, I've been stalked by idiots before, and we've had people threaten to hack the site, but I don't think I've ever seen a death threat outside of youtube comments (and everyone knows that that place is full of shit-crazy idiot children, so...)
Eh don't worry, Rose_Guardian. You're not alone. I'm guilty as well. But for me, I do make an effort to socialize whenever possible, because really, I don't want to end up alone all the time.

If anything, though, it ought to be easier to post than to speak in person.
That is true Eplipswich. When posting it's hard to know if someone is joking, or being serious most of the time because you can't see their expression, or hear their voice. I have mistook jokes for seriousness before here. XD
