HALIBABICA'S PROFILE
I'm a twiggy nerd who draws comics and makes games for fun. I mostly use RPG Maker, but I've also branched out to Game Maker (see Spelunky mods) and plan on upgrading to RMVX Ace at some point. I put just about all my game stuff here on RMN, and you can find my well-written (but poorly-drawn) comics in my gallery at deviantArt.

mordenglory, I'm terribly sorry, but this event is no longer accepting new submissions. I'm afraid you missed your chance.

...okay. Backing up to the OP, the very first question in this thread was "Why is my game not getting many downloads?" For the most part, that's been answered, but the thread derailed and spiraled into a chasm after that, so I'm gonna try to summarize the relevant points.
The game has few downloads because it is presented badly.
That's all this adds up to. Everything else that's been said is irrelevant. The only important post in the entire thread is the one kentona made on page 2 analyzing the game page and its many faults.
Many other subjects sprung up in the course of the debate, most of which pertain to the value of various aspects of presentation. All I can add is that EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT. If you want your game to succeed, you need to maximize download chances in every way you feasibly can. If you can't take the time to do that, then you'll just be stuck lamenting your low numbers.

Good lord, why does this have four pages.
Probably because he couldn't refute anything you said on a technical basis.
I read the first page and a half before my brain started to break down from all the misplaced assumptions from BOTH sides of the argument. This thread is like one giant communication failure.
A more meaningful post may be coming; it all depends if I can get through the rest with my sanity in-tact. >_<

Why was he ignoring me?

Why do I have a member title.

make a makerscore incentive if you reach some number like 1000, 2500, 5000 or something

from IsrieriIf we thought exactly the same, there would be no reason for both of us to be judges. That's why
I feel like my only existence as a judge is to contradict Halibabica and I feel bad about it. I swear it's not on purpose! I agree with him sometimes, too!
Which this raven thing isn't. I think they fit better thematically, and given that it's a W8 stage, a stealthier enemy could be more forgivable (plus, white eyes + yellow feet = not invisible). But again, it's just a nitpick, and I know what a pain it is to recolor pitch-black NPCs in SMBX.
from IsrieriThis amuses me greatly.
Apparently the spellchecker thinks "Halibabica" is "Bacchanalia." And now "Biblical."

Hmm...if you make them a lighter shade, it might work. Take them from pitch black to maybe 20% or 30% lighter, and they could stand out enough to be noticeable (but still dark enough to be stealthy).
