If I could pick up one thing from Hasvers' post; I think he/she has a point about some of the random combo spells thrown at you, and not just in boss fights either. Some of the ordinary encounters can only be described as brutal. I think I've died more times from that in this game than in any other I can think of. I've persevered because of the many good qualities of the game, but my heart sinks at the thought of what I'll have to go through to finish. Fortunately I'm a bit over-leveled because of inefficient exploring which meant that I had to keep backtracking, so I'm hoping that it'll be do-able.

Have started re-playing, and can see a lot of differences for the better, but I do miss the multi-map Flora Forest. I do have one query though, which leaves me perplexed. Rain has now learned 4 skills, there are a great many empty slots, but I can only equip the new one if I un-equip one of the others. It was the same in the old version, and I just don't get the system. The 3 currently equipped are buff, tidal kick and mend. I can understand that there could be restrictions on how many passive skills (buff) and burst skills (tidal kick) you can have, but mend is just an ordinary skill and the one I want to put on is twin strike, which again is just an ordinary skill. Is there some subtlety on the equip menu which I've overlooked?
Thanks
Thanks

Don't know if this was intended, but when I loaded the game the first time it already had a save file in it (8min 55), and when I started a new game the party were already at level 3.

I am assuming that you are standing at the Wall and want to go over for the first time. You activate the rope by standing on the stones at the base of the wall and clicking. You can then shimmy up.
If you're not at the Wall and need something else, then post again.
Before doing anything else, take Sylar’s armour and shield.

Thanks for the hint - but my internet went down just after I posted, so I carried on throwing switches until finally something happened. I had no idea what I'd done right, so it's good to find out.
I think I'm nearly at the home straight as we've reached the ship, so I assume big bad boss will be appearing shortly. I'm intrigued by other posts' references to good ending and bad ending. I expect I'll soon find out what that's all about.
Thanks for all your hard work to create a great game.
Edit
Hmm... I ended up with what I worked out had to be the bad ending; went to your web site (great site by the way, wish I'd thought of going there earlier) to see if there was anything there about getting the good ending and saw that I had to fight the optional boss as part of Snowe's nightmare. Trouble is, I can't find how to initiate the nightmare. If I speak to Richard I get straight to the arrival of the final boss, and I've wandered around and spoken to everyone (I think) several times, been in and out of the tents, clicked on every bed I can find. What have I missed?

OK, perhaps my brain has died, perhaps different systems of logic, and probably missing the obvious but...
Thanks
I'm on the 4th floor of the Western Tower. I have put those switches into every possibility and hurtled round to see if the bars have opened or some flowers have appeared from somewhere. Nothing. Is it the order of throwing them as well as the combination?
Thanks

I am releasing the game tomorrow with addresses those issues.
Great to hear, I've started the DL now - and just my luck, my connection has decided to crawl. It tells me that it'll take 45 minutes! Still, if you've indeed sorted those issues, then it'll be worth waiting around.

I made a wrong guess. When I hit the snow patch I thought that was it, so re-loaded. Anyway, I've worked my way through the Castle, my party are all together again; I've found the storage rooms (at least, I think that's what they are) - but no secret room. I've found the place where a bit of wall says it looks like there used to be a door there, but I can't activate anything. Where should I be to find it?
This reminds me of my only criticism of the game, and that is that nowhere is labelled with the name of the area. This can make for confusion, or at least, it confuses me sometimes. Other than that, I'm really enjoying myself.
EDIT
It's always the way. As soon as I posted my query I found what I was looking for.

Just keep going and eventually you'll find the actual castle.
Well, except that I end up in the Boss room without ever getting into the Castle and therefore finding tomes, equipment etc. I've found 3 levels of airways: (1) where you start, having gone up the stairs from the entrance hall of the building (2) the level where you have to throw several switches to create a pathway (3) where there's a healing bowl, switch puzzle and the stairs leading up to a snowy area.
Any chance of a more specific hint? Thanks

I don't now what you're stuck on, but on the outside, there's a path left leading to a door which may look impassable, but isn't.
Now I'm even more confused. On the outside I've found a herb, a chest, a Tome and 3 pouches, but no left path leading to any door just the path straight up to a central door
