Preface:
There's been some talk about blogs and how they just don't get exposure and how they all suck and whatever else people talk about in blogs.

Well this article (and a possible future article series) is going to take a look at blog posts from this week (Saturday 12th to Saturday 19th of February) and pick out the good stuff.

Now I'm only a human being so I might miss out on something awesome in the way of blogs. If I do, feel free to post them in the comments of this article. However if you want to comment on any particular blog post the best way to do that would be in the actual blogs themselves. I'm sure they all love those comments.

Obvious blogs are obvious
First up are the most obvious blogs. Blogs that probably already are on the radar of any active blog readers. Also blogs with a fair amount of recent activity to them.

The most active blog over the week would be Breath of Fire II: The Fated Child (XP) blog. (that was quite a mouthful) Though it's mostly smaller updates from development progress. But progress is made and any fans probably like to keep up with all the stuff that happens.

Another blog with plenty of activity is the RPG Maker 20xx Engine, which also had an alpha release. It's also a project I've seen mentioned on IRC so I think it already is on many people's radar. Not that I actually know what it's about.

A prominent RM game is getting a remake. The Visions & Voices Remake blog contains some tidbits of information on that project. The In Praise of Completion is probably the most interesting.

There's the fangame Hetalia: The Last Goodbye that has got fairly exhaustive blogposts so much that there's apparently a running joke of people saying "I don't need to play this game after reading these blogposts/watching these videos". Of course what this actually means is that for anyone interested there should be enough information there while waiting for a release.

We can't all be as obvious
xeilmach gives summary of his experiences in making his game SEKAI and posts some screenshots from a project that is unlikely to ever be.

mellytan is on the other side of the experience in his Oathguard blog. Posting an introduction to the project as well as a video.

Leo & Leah by Strangeluv gets a complete release together with some thoughts on the development and the inspiration for the game.

Speaking of inspiration catmitts shares some fanart and gives the inspiration for Space Funeral celebrating 10 000 downloads.

Another new game can be found in Blood Rose, SorceressKyrsty introduces her new project with artwork and an image from a sequence where a character's name is "blank". How awesome is that?

For audience participation there's always Desmo360's brief post about his Super Puzzle World demo. Asking anyone who tried it to give feedback.

dragonheartman shows off his new mine cart minigame from Starless Umbra.

Erilex can't not post his unused artwork from his game Doble Filo.

And finally Fist posts something I'm not actually sure what it is but I noticed the words Fallout and Nuka Cola so there's no way a post like that is not good.

Release Announcements
Apart from these there were also a couple of "new release" blogs that I will link-list because although they aren't excellent discussion material you never know if you missed out on a new release.

Super Mario RPG: The Starlite Worlds Demo v2.0.2
EasyRPG alpha release, though the blog post is so badly formatted that I basically have no idea where the download is or anything of the sort.
Phalath Final Version 1.3
Astral Transparency: Cole's Gate Demo Update
Super Porygon 3D Super Update
Knight's Dungeon Glitchfix
Noob Adventurez beta
Metal Gear Solid: Lunacy of Legion Update 1.7
The New Disciples Season 2 Complete

Postscript:
So yeah that was my spotlight on what has happened in the RMN Blogosphere. If you think an article like this is a good idea. Or better yet, if you think you could do this better. Post a comment (and if you think you could do it better please do. Because you know how good I am with commitment. I will at most make two of these articles and then call it a day)

You might also notice that I only really checked out the blogposts themselves. Some of these blogposts have some healthy (or not so healthy) discussion going in the comments sections. Feel free to contribute to those discussions as well as link to any particularily good ones in the comments.

WHY IS IT NUMBER 7?!

I like this article. Thanks for taking the time to keep everyone updated on game blogs. This is a good idea.

WHY IS IT NUMBER 7?!

It is for Week 7.
I would have missed out on some cool stuff (namely this) if it weren't for this article, so I would definitely appreciate it if you did more of them.
I don't get to read all of the blogs here due to time constraints, but I like to see what's in development from time to time. This is a great idea, and very well summed up. The best part about it is the way you've divided it up into obvious, not so obvious, and releases.

And yes, Oathguard really does look awesome.

I don't even post anymore in the blog. Especially after the last few entries.

*reads comments from Hetalia's last couple blogs*

;-]
somebody noticed my blog.
I really like this idea ^^ Especially since I can miss out on some pretty cool blogs considering the amount of blog-posts that happen in a day.
