You wound up at an amusement park. It is colorful and a number of dragons go to and fro. Vendors are trying to sell cheap sweets to hatchlings, and others are advertising the various booths and attractions.
They say that apparantly some bard and wizard group set all this up, and a powerful group too. Something draws you to the sight.
It would be good to meet some of these organizers. You hope to find a good mentor to your magical studies, or at least kill some time.
[[Go to the Haunted House->Haunted House]]
[[Visit the Ferris Wheel->Ferris Wheel]]
[[Pick up a few snacks->Snack Bar]]
[[Go Home->Go Home Ending]]A Ferris Wheel. You do not know why you went here, you never really liked them. You could just fly up and see the landscape from there. That would also mean you could actually just go to whatever looks so beautiful in the distance.
Alas, here it is nonetheless. You suppose at least the hatchlings are eager to enter. So many, in fact, the adult-sized cabins make sense.
There is still time to [[Start<-turn back]].
You look down at your slender body and claws and sigh. Well, [[you might at least try->Inside Ferris Wheel]]. At the next stop you climb into the next free wagon. Yup. Still a cloudy day. You see a cloud that looks like a mammoth in the corner.
How cute.
Maybe you could find something more interesting in the [[cabin->Inside Ferris Wheel]].
Or maybe you will see more after staring out of the window [[for extended periods of time->Outside View 2]]. They said there is magic involved, right? You lie down on the floor. The entire cabin is made out of enchanted wood on top of a metal skeleton. You would prefer the cool feel of metal, but the wood is not bad, either. Quietly it hums and emits a faint buzz. It makes you think of a spell that blows up in your face with a loud 'boom'. It sounds just like that..
You curl up and contemplate your decision to come here. At least the floor is reasonably sized and surprisingly comfortable.
Seeing how the seats are made with metal too.. you wonder if there is something hidden behind the planks underneath them.
Maybe you should [[remove them->Clear Space]] and take a look, for safety's sake.
Or maybe you should just [[sit back up->Inside Ferris Wheel]].It is a comfortable, orange-brown bench. It is delightfully empty and you stretch out to your full length. Your belly hangs awkwardly in the space between, but the stretch feels soooo good.
You briefly [[wonder->Seats]] if you could hide anything under the seats.
Maybe you should just [[sit back up->Inside Ferris Wheel]], though. The seats are still their orange-brown. It looks like some wooden planks have been nailed to them underneath. You wonder if there is anything hidden behind these planks. You could try [[removing them->Clear Space]].
Maybe you should just [[sit back up->Inside Ferris Wheel]], though.
You are sitting down on the bench on the left side and lean up against the window. You could [[look outside->Outside View]] if you want. It's not like it's a special day or anything. It was cloudy when you went in, and cloudy it will be.
Maybe you can also make use of the space on the [[floor->Floor Description]] or [[the other bench->Bench Description]]. It is unexpectedly empty and dark behind the wooden planks.
Maybe you want to [[leave->Inside Ferris Wheel B]] this beautiful sight and marvel behind to see other things in the cabin.
Maaybe you want to add something to this emptiness. [[Like a firespell->Not so empty Space]]. Just a really small one. After working a few minutes a delightful deep red shimmer lightens the empty space. You see the newly crafted runes shift in the darkness like fireflies in the night.
You feel proud of yourself.
Good job, you.
You lean back, and see the turn is about ready. You completely missed the stop at the top. No less, you get ready to [[leave the Ferris Wheel->After Ferris Wheel A]] with a clear conscience.
And after thinking about it a little more, you are sure nothing would ever light these runes, anyway. It only adds a wonderful aesthetic. You are carrying a wide smile as you linger a little longer, watching the Ferris Wheel.
After a moment, a loud BOOM resonates throughout the air.
Hah.. you love that sound. Right after the buzz.
The Ferris Wheel does not look bad right now.
The wood caught fire and the more agile dragons are jumping outside. The sky takes on a different color as a soft red weaves itself into the clouds. Loud shouting and cries can be heard now, but you are ready to turn to [[the other attractions->Attractions minus Ferris Wheel]].
What a beautiful sight that was.
Your claw gently removes one of the planks and ta-da! Empty space appears. You are itching [[to look at->Empty Space]] the wonderful nothing inside.
Or you could force yourself away from the beautiful sight and [[sit back up->Inside Ferris Wheel B]].
You keep looking outside the window. Something sparkles and you are surprised to see an indigo light flash up, lighter and lighter. It gets painful. You close your eyes for a second and open them again.
The entire scenery has changed, no more clouds and sky. It looks like a whole different plane of existance. Creatures of various sizes swim by in a deep blue and white color-mixture.
Slow flaps, it looks like a pink octopus with three pairs of white wings is passing by your window, glancing to look at you.
You are drawn into the scenery in front of you. You are free to [[watch more->Magical Outside View 2]], if you like.
You can also turn back to the [[cabin->Cabin without window]], if you really want to. You are sitting down on the bench on the left side and lean up against the window. You already looked outside.
Maybe you can also make use of the space on the [[floor->Floor Description]] or [[the other bench->Bench Description]].
Or you can close your eyes and wait, until you can finally [[Leave this cabin->After Ferris Wheel B]].Well, that wasn't too bad!
You are pleasantly surprised by what you saw. And while you are still unsure if that view was an intricate illusion or something different altogether, it does not matter too much.
What matters is these dragons made a Ferris Wheel //fun//. You can hardly believe it.
It still is fairly useless magic, though. At least for you. You turn to [[look at the different attractions->Attractions minus Ferris Wheel]].
You turn your focus away from the pink and white spotted creatures, the cyan colored birds and insects. Ah.. you really want to look at everything a little longer.
Still, you turn your attention towards the distance. It is hard to make out, as though you are looking through water, but you can see a towering monument in the distance. You see black stone forming huge archs of a gate. It seems to be a round building, surrounded by a criss-cross of different walls - you can also see decorations hanging from these walls and towers.
White silk, maybe?
Before you have more time to ponder though, you hear the crackling sound of doors opening. It is time to [[leave->After Ferris Wheel B]].You are still at the same amusement park.
It is colorful and a number of dragons go to and fro. Vendors are trying to sell cheap sweets to hatchlings, and others are advertising the various booths and attractions.
They say that apparantly some bard and wizard group set all this up, and a powerful group too. Something draws you to the sight, and your instincts have always been right.
It would be good to meet some of these organizers. You hope to find a good mentor to your advances, or at least kill some time.
[[Go to the Haunted House->Haunted House]]
[[Get some snacks->Snack Bar]]
[[Go Home->Go Home Ending]]The path to the Haunted Hause is lined with different tunnels and dragonmade [[Stone Formation Description<-stone formations]]. It looks very pleasant with its soft gentle shades and dark tones.
There are different [[Rune Description<-runes]] on the tunnels for aesthetic.
You continue [[Haunted House Entrance<-walking]].
Or you could [[Haunted Runes<-take a closer look]] at the runes, just to make sure. You are sitting down on the bench on the left side and lean up against the window. You could [[look outside->Outside View B]] if you want. It's not like it's a special day or anything. It was cloudy when you went in, and cloudy it will be.

You remember the gaping hole underneath the seats. Maybe you should [[take a look again->Empty Space]].
Or you could just [[sit back up->Inside Ferris Wheel B]], though.A floor. The entire cabin is made out of enchanted wood on top of a metal skeleton. How cute.

Maybe you can also make use of the space on the [[floor->Floor Description B]] or [[the other bench->Bench Description B]].
Or you can close your eyes and wait, until you can finally [[Leave this cabin->After Ferris Wheel B]].You walk a little while through the amusement park, looking over a few attractions and seeing costumed people hand out balloons to the little hatchlings.
How cute.
You also smell [[Candy Stand Overview<-something sugary]] and, following it, soon reach the desired snack bar. You wonder what kind of food they have.
Wait a second.
Half of them are purely for looks, yes. The other half you are not sure what they are for, but you can instinctively feel magical power flow through them.
A faint pulse vibrates in the air as you approach the runes. You observe them at a good two feet distance. The cloth they are on is a dirty brown, clearly a disgrace to the magical finesse involved in the runes ornating it. As if to spite your observation, they glow brightly in different hues of white, gold and black.
Looking closely, you can also see thin deep red runes surrounding them, almost as if to protect them.
For the life of you, you cannot make out what spell they form. It is hard to even find phrases or words in them. It feels like a foreign language - or two, or three.
You reach out to [[touch->Touch Haunted Runes]] them. The closer your claws reach, the stronger your heartbeat pulsates through your veins. Every cell in your being screams out to you and a sharp pain runs through your head, stopping your movement.
Looking up, you can see the red runes hovering around you.
Yep, clearly a protective measure. It does not feel or look pleasant at all.
You love it.
Who made these? Whoever did, you //need// to find them. Or find out what spell is behind these runes.
You ponder if there is a way to decipher them. Or if a nice dose of [[fire->Rune Boom]] might loosen them.
You notice the hum they are emitting is growing increasingly loud. Impatient things. It might be better to just [[step back->Haunted House Entrance]].
You flash a wide grin and quickly conjure a nice flaming, spinning ball.
It crashes into the red runes. Now all you can see is a crimson red, and an eardrum blowing explosion fills your ears.
[[That is not the sound of your firespells.->Rune Boom B]]
You reach the entrance to the actual Haunted House. Dragons line up and you can see there is a separate queue and section for young and [[squeamish dragons->Squeamish Dragon Description]], elves, elemental spirits, pixies as well as the occasional [[Centaur Description<-centaur]].
You confidently step into the proper section and wait for your turn. With all the best intentions, this place does not look scary yet at all.
That said, the faint screams behind the curtains raise your hopes. Who knows what kind of haunted house this is. Maybe they have these adorable little wagons to show you around, or an open space separated by curtains, or maybe they play some trick to the mind.
You can't [[Haunted House Start<-wait]]!You do not understand why you pay so much attention to these few centaurs all of a sudden.
Are they magical? No, they are not. You are certain with just a glance that they are just plain brown furred creatures with [[hooves->Hoove Description]].
Adorable, sure. Potent? No.
You turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance<-entrance]].
These are hooves.
Something you do not have and that make a clear sound when walking on stone, so as to alarm any surrounding species to be ready to attack them.
You finally turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance<-entrance]]. You see a young couple holding hands. They are adorably frightened without having even been into the place.
You briefly wonder if they would appreciate a summoned imp surprising them right now. At least you know you would.
You feel tempted to [[Summon Prank<-summon]] the little thing. Who knows, it might even help you explore the place afterwards!
Or you can just turn your attention back to the [[Haunted House Entrance<-entrance]].
Just as you are about to finish your spell and a small circle begins to form on the ground, one of the guarding dragons (who are also taking care of tickets) stops you in your tracks. He pulls you to the side and makes sure no spell finished casting. His grip on your arms is firm and rude, but softened quickly after you explain your harmless intentions.
Now that you have their attention, you ask for the sorcerer who runs this place. This is a good opportunity as any, after all.
Sadly, he rejects you and urges you to step back into line and wait for your turn.
Oh well. You turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance B<-entrance]].Stone Formation is a relative term. There are different stones strewn about on the sidewalks. And there are pretty patterns on them. Some skulls and other things.
On the fields you can see a proper triangle formation. The idea is to engrave stones, or otherwise inject magic into them, and let that magic interact with each other. And with 'interact' one usually means letting them fight each other to a standstill. They are great to rest in as they ward off noise from the outside.
You are not in the mood to rest yet, however. So you keep walking towards the [[Haunted House<-Haunted House]].You could wait after all. And quite a bit too.
You feel slightly grumpy as you are led into a chamber of sorts by a [[Fairy Dragon Description<-small attending dragon]] flying in your view. There are chains on the side and you are kindly asked to sit down on one of those fancy [[metal chairs->Metal Chair Description]] in her friendly chirpy voice. It is not comfortable.
Loud cranks and noises can be heard behind you, but your attendant quickly catches your attention and has you look forward.
You curse inwardly at this blatant brake on your curiosity.
She explained a few things that you missed, but no matter. You close your eyes for a second and suddenly the room starts [[Haunted House Part 1<-shaking]].
This little lady is a fairy dragon. One of those hypersensitive fragile thin dragons that have large wings and tiny bodies (most of the time, anyway). Contrary to popular belief, they are no more talented in magic than other dragons. They simply tend to dabble in magic to make up for this.
Some people find them cute. They are colorful, at least.
Sadly, they have harsh chirping voices that you'd rather ignore.
Your attention returns to the [[Haunted House Start<-chamber]].You have to hand it to them, that surprised you. It also feels like someone blindfolded you in that moment of confusion. What a silly trick. Everyone knows turning off the lights is the traditional way. You fumble around your head, but you can't take it off.
In fact, you start to realize you can't feel anything of your [[Body Description<-body]] right now. It feels like that one time you were close to fading completely.
You try to distract yourself from the growing unease. Why is the only sound you hear a soft static, anyway? What idiot was in charge of that microphone? You are frustrated and try to look around, but only dull blackness greets you. A grey.
You grit your teeth, they did not even let it be [[Black Story<-black]].
Is there really nothing you can do? You [[Haunted House Part 2<-wait]]. These chairs are acceptable for a horror movie. Or the action sort where you can escape them. They are made out of clean, wide metal with long dark brown leather straps to tie you in place. It almost looks clinical.
Additionally, there are beautiful armrests where you can tightly lock onto arm and wrists to rival any strait jacket.
Your attention returns to the [[Haunted House Start<-chamber]].Dragons line up and you can see there is a separate queue and section for young and [[squeamish dragons->Squeamish Dragon Description B]], elves, elemental spirits, pixies as well as the occasional [[Centaur Description B<-centaur]]. [[Imps excluded->Squeamish Dragon Description B]].
You briefly wonder if that couple is still anxiously waiting for that imp before confidently step into the proper section.
You can't [[Haunted House Start<-wait]]!You see a young couple holding hands. They are adorably frightened without having even been into the place.
You are still unsure whether they would appreciate a summoned imp or not, but the [[Cold Stare Description<-cold stare]] from the guardian tells you otherwise. What a terrible sense of humor.
There must be [[Summon 2<-//something//]] you can do.
You turn your attention back to the [[Haunted House Entrance B<-entrance]].He is still staring at you without blinking. You feel a subtle killing intent behind his blue eyes. Scary.
You turn your focus back to the [[Squeamish Dragon Description B<-couple]].Black. Near-death experiences always make you sentimental.
You recall the face of your father, a soft mane hiding black scales shimmering in the sunlight. A soft red glimmer whenever you practiced. It makes you smile no matter how often you remember it.
It is soothing to see an all-black. It is not soothing to see this godforsaken [[Haunted House Part 1<-grey]]. Imagine a space, you are sitting somewhere.
You now have your entire body strapped together and are thrown into the softest jumping castle you can possibly come up with, full of cottonballs.
You twist and turn and bounce off in that mass of cotton until you softly roll back and forth. Now replace cottonballs with the hair you pull out of your sink.
It is not only unpleasant, but the lack of control over your limbs is worrisome.
This is how you feel [[Haunted House Part 1<-right now]]. Waiting seems to do little other than making you feel worse. Not just the growing unease, you need to resist the urge to throw up. Slowly the misty grey around you thickens and gets darker, until images flash up.
Massacres, grey in white. The many people you forgot ever existed. They still curse your name. It makes you smile.
You can't believe they try to use such images to [[Haunted House Part 2 1<-scare you]].
Your well-mannered tenacity calls you to finish what you started.
The whole point of a Haunted House is to get scared. You are doing a wonderful service.
You were //so// close to summoning that imp!
You [[Summon 3<-assess the situation]].
All you need to do is to get rid of this pesky guardian.
You could try to find a way to [[Haunted House Entrance C<-distract him]], or you can simply take him out by brute force. [[Brute Force 1<-Quietly]]. Truth to be told, you are not sure how the 'quietly' part is supposed to work yet. If all else fails you can still rely on the background music. You hope.
Different ideas come to mind, but you only have one chance. He is watching you.
[[Brute Rune Magic<-Use Rune Magic]]
[[Brute Fire Magic<-Use Fire Balls]]
[[Brute Force 3<-Fight him head-on]]You are on your conquest to distract the guardian and achieve prankhood.
You are still in the Entrance Hall, looking for anything of use in this area.
Dragons line up and you can see there is a separate [[queue->Queue Description C]] and section for young and [[squeamish dragons->Squeamish Dragon Description C]], [[elves->Elves Description C]], [[elemental spirits->Elemental Spirits Description C]], pixies as well as the occasional [[Centaur Description C<-centaur]]. [[Imps excluded->Imps Excluded C]].
You could also reluctantly give up and [[Haunted House Start<-wait]] in line. If you really wanted to. You start fiddling with your fingers and clawtips, or so it may look to others.
A quick glance to the guardian reveals he is no more grumpy than he was the moment before.
Soft runes start forming a pattern on top of your right arm.
Risky? Possible. Sneaky? Yes. Powerful? Oh yes.
You trust your love for and security in fire. The soft red shimmer dances as if to encourage you. It makes you smile and you gently weave another layer of magic into the already shining runes.
You start the process for your left arm and prepare another beautiful circle of runes.
You can't contain your grin.
Alarmed by your change of expression, the guardian [[hurries->Brute Rune 2]] over to you.
You start conjuring a set of three flaming fireballs. The guardian clearly noticed the motion because he is already rushing towards you, but little does he know creating fire is like breathing to you.
The fireballs finish casting and shoot towards him, [[Explosion Description<-exploding]] into loud crashing cascades of red. New ones are already forming and bombarding him, stopping his movement.
It is hard to make out, but he is rolling to avoid the blows and getting ready to defend.
Defend against //your// fireballs?! A fierce light shines in your eyes as your flames burn even hotter. A few of his scales are melting as he hurries to avoid volley after volley.
Your grin bares your teeth, you can't help but start laughing from the depths of your soul!
Only suddenly you hear a loud [[Brute Fire Magic End<-thud]] and find yourself looking at the sky.Your claws and teeth are not just for show!
You smile softly and wave the guardian over, he rolls his eyes at the gesture. You feel upset and pout.
Psychological warfare!
He sighs and touches his forehead. Evidently he is hesitant to come anywhere near you, but he still walks closer to bark a short 'What is it?'
Disgust is what best describes the look he gives you. You are not amused.
You gather your strength in your arms. Magic flows into them as you do, a natural reflex. You start talking, but you don't finish your sentence before your claws shoots forward, aiming for his neck.
He instinctly avoids your blow, but the heat around you visibly burns his scales. A soft black hue.
He punches you - you react by biting into the other side of his neck, ignoring the incoming fist.
His punch //hurts//.
Your slender body is thrown to the side, but you won't let go of the thick neck. Blood is pouring out of it. A beautiful red.
You only hear a deep angry growl before his claws sinks into your side and he grasps your neck with his other hand. Your vision [[Brute Force End<-blurrs]].You remember something, and you smile.
You see black.
[[Start<-Start Over?]]Different pieces of cloth are hanging here and there and obscuring the view.
So far only one guardian is free at the moment. He is a big bulky dragon and is evidently experienced in physical combat. His murky swamp green scale color suits him. Unfortunately, his attention is clearly on you. And your wrists are still aching.
Two other dragons are handling customers at the end of the queue. There may be a crowd here, but you are confident most of them could not handle your magic. They also are way too busy chatting amongst themselves. To your delight the cloth conveniently obscures most of the vision and screams and shrieks can be heard occasionally already. It's the perfect background music.
It is time for [[Summon 2<-action]]!That was not quiet at all. Oh no. Far from it.
You feel conflicted, the thrilling joy of the sound fills you with excitement. But you also realize this is not the right time for it.
You wish you had a moment to shed a tear for the first time you could not fully and completely appreciate the sound of your fireballs exploding.
But the fight is still [[raging->Brute Fire Magic]].
An agile dragon crashed through the ceiling and pinned you to the ground.
Your vision blurrs. You don't know what it is, but //something// is stuck in your throat. That can't be good. You feel tired.
Looks like the big guy was only buying time.
There is nothing more you can do.
[[Start<-Start Over?]]What kind of primitive baboon can't even let a lady smile?
In a moment's flash he appeared right next to you - you are shocked by his speed, but luckily you already finished your preparations.
He grasps your arm and a soft sizzle emenates from your runes. Next a cute 'boom' fills the air and the guardian's shrieks die down almost immediately as searing lava eats away at him. He rolls around on the ground but little does it help him.
There is also little you can do to help him, either. Not to mention you are certain if he had not touched you right then, nothing would have happened to him. You are clearly not the one to blame, so you softly step over him and check your arm. Deep burns are on them revealing flesh, but not much more.
You hope you can find some bandages [[Brute Rune 3<-soon]].You take a look around, and to your delight noone seems to be alarmed. The couple is standing where it did, and your claws are already itching to cast another spell.
Good.
Relieved, you glance again at the [[Hurt Guardian Description<-guardian]].
You take a few steps away and act as if you have never seen this grumpy guy.
Very good.
You smile as you let out the small [[Imp Description<-imp]]. He hops up and down and questioningly looks at you. Clearly, he is waiting for a job to do.
You point towards the young dragon couple, and now the little guy is mirroring your grin.
[[Brute Rune 4<-You can't wait to see how they react!]]That was an unfortunate hit he took. A magma ball is not pleasant.
Deep red thick liquid is poured all over his face, arms and chest. It shimmers and blinks to your direction, a clear wink.
You smile back to the happy mass that is slowly cooling down.
The dragon is still breathing, but his movement slowed down. Maybe you should [[help him->Help Guardian Path]] a little bit. Or maybe he is just taking a nap.
He can use the break, he looks the type to never even let himself rest a moment.
Such a shame he will miss [[the show->Brute Rune 3]].Imps are small little fellow from the demonic tribe. Their people love travelling and so often contract work from different planes.
Some species have prejudices against them, but you have never met friendlier or more open-minded people in this world. Sometimes, you just invite them for a cup of tea.
This one here is a tiny black imp, and barely reaches to your knee. His wings flap happily as he jumps about.
You think you have seen this particular imp before, but you have trouble recalling his name. Daniel, maybe?
You are terrible with names.
You are better with [[Brute Rune 3<-other things]].You sit back and watch as the cute creature slows down and quietly approaches the crowd. You are always amazed by how fierce they can look when facing other people. Any actor would be put to shame.
Meanwhile you stand on the sidelines and wait.
Maybe you could find some torches or similar to [[Torch Description<-put out]] and enhance the performance.
Maybe you could accompany him with a small [[No Spell<-spell]] of some sort.
But before you can finish any more preparation, a shrill shriek catches your immediate [[attention->Brute Rune 5]]. There //are// torches to shine a warm light into the tunnel.
Sadly, these are magical ones. Some glowing stones lie in their sockets. You do not have the time or patience to examine such a pointless thing at this critical moment.
You turn your attention back towards the [[Brute Rune 4<-imp]].Your claws flicker and you ponder on what spells to use when a sharp pain runs through your arm.
You stare at your open wound. You forgot.
A lot of foreign magical energy gathered there by now, it feels very soothing. Could it be a healing spell? Trying to channel any more you feel a little dizzy and stop.
Oh well, you hope the couple likes [[Brute Rune 4<-imps]].
The imp sneakily hid behind the crowd and jumped up to the shoulder of the thin male dragon, a soft shadow was lying over the little imp like an extension of his wings and folded around the scared scaled one.
The dragon jumped, pushing his lover away and shrieked a loud 'Hiyaaaaaaaa!'. He had clearly never seen any such moving shadow in his life and called out to his lover to help him. He then curled up, not daring to look at the [[Brute Rune 6<-shadow over him]].
You do not understand why you pay so much attention to these few centaurs all of a sudden.
Are they magical? No, they are not. You are certain with just a glance that they are just plain brown furred creatures with [[hooves->Hoove Description B]].
Adorable, sure. Potent? No.
You turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance B<-entrance]].
These are hooves.
Something you do not have and that make a clear sound when walking on stone, so as to alarm any surrounding species to be ready to attack them.
You finally turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance B<-entrance]]. 'Were they cursed?' 'Nonsense!', 'What was that?'. A number of murmurs were heard in the crowd.
A few elves took the opportunity to run outside, which meant new shrieks resonated through the room again. You remember a certain guardian who must still be lying there somewhere.
Naturally, a few of them snickered as well, having recognized the imp for what it was. [[Brute Rune 7b<-You are one of them]].You briefly wonder if that was worth it.
Yes, yes it was.
You can't wipe that bright smile off your face, no matter how hard you try. Actually, you don't try very hard. You bask in the moment and keep smiling.
You also slowly remember the reason you actually came to this place, the Haunted House.
After a moment the imp sneaks around the back and joins your side again.
You tell him what a good job he did and release him after inquiring a bit and making sure he has little interest in joining your exploration.
You turn to the [[Haunted House Entrance D<-entrance]] to queue up again.
What a good joke that was.
You reach the entrance to the actual Haunted House. Dragons line up and you can see there is a separate queue and section for young and squeamish dragons, elves, elemental spirits, pixies as well as the occasional [[Centaur Description D<-centaur]].

You finally turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance D<-entrance]]. You see a young couple holding hands. They are adorably frightened without having even been into the place.
You are still wondering whether they would appreciate a summoned imp or not, but you have not found a way to distract the guard yet.
You turn your attention back to the [[Haunted House Entrance C<-entrance]].You do not understand why you pay so much attention to these few centaurs all of a sudden.
Are they magical? No, they are not. You are certain with just a glance that they are just plain brown furred creatures with [[hooves->Hoove Description C]].
Adorable, sure. Potent? No.
You turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance C<-entrance]].
These are hooves.
Something you do not have and that make a [[clear sound->Hoove Distraction 1]] when walking on stone, so as to alarm any surrounding species to be ready to attack them.
You finally turn back to the [[Haunted House Entrance C<-entrance]]. Wait a second, those might be perfect!
Before you set out to remove these hooves from their current bearer, you realize this may alert the guardian.
You then set out to talk to the group of centaurs and [[Hoove Distraction 2<-ask them]] for their cooperation. It wouldn't be a stretch to call this draconic couple your friends, right? The centaurs seem to recognize you from your previous engagement with the present guardian, and are startled.
You should probably tell them that you are here to cheer someone up and make their day more enjoyable. [[Or whatever good friends would do->Hoove Distraction 3]].
Are lillies flowers? You think they were. It's the only name you remembered on the spot, anyway.
It looks like the [[Hoove Distraction 3<-centaurs]] know what you mean, and it is not offending them.Fortunately, you remember in time that [[Imp Description B<-imps]] may seem inappropriate to the general population.
So you quickly explain you wanted to summon a shower of petals, [[Lillies Description<-lillies]] and other flowers to surprise them as they enjoy their anniversary, and also to ease their anxiety in this place instead. The guardian clearly did not know this. So being the relaxed, even-keeled person you are, you do not fault him for doing his job.
They are starting to [[Hoove Distraction 4<-trust you]].Imps are small little folks from the demonic tribe. Their people love travelling and so often contract work from different planes.
Some species have prejudices against them, but you have never met friendlier or more open-minded people in this world. Sometimes, you just invite them for a cup of tea.
You turn back to [[Hoove Distraction 3<-other things]].This one here is a tiny black imp, and barely reaches to your knee. His wings flap happily as he jumps about.
You think you have seen this particular imp before, but you have trouble recalling his name. Daniel, maybe?
You are terrible with names.
You are better with [[Hoove Distraction 5<-other things]].At your sign the commotion begins and the guard is visibly distracted by the sudden running back and turmoil. These hooves turn out to be //really loud//. He glances at you but quickly realizes you are not the center of this. Of course you aren't.
You grin as you let out the small [[Imp Description C<-imp]]. He hops up and down and questioningly looks at you. Clearly, he is waiting for a job to do.
You point towards the young dragon couple, and now the little guy is mirroring your grin.
[[Hoove Distraction 6<-You can't wait to see how they react!]]The only dragon you ever admired. And the only dragon to fully embrace you, your talents and your personality.
The time you spent, others would truly call that happiness.
You scream his name in your head, but [[Haunted House Part 2<-no sound]] can be heard. It's not real. It's motherfucking dammit NOT. REAL!
Your mind screams, you grit your teeth and all of your body involuntarily burns up. Heat surrounds you even [[Haunted House Part 3A 2<-here]].
You gaze deep into the tearfilled eyes. They slowly fill with color and virality. A tender love that you couldn't believe you could ever forget.
[[You remember->Haunted House Part 4B]].Well, that and the raging flaming fireball of magic power inside you.
Being a sorceress has [[Haunted House Part 3A 5<-its perks]].Don't they know it's a [[Bad Omen Description<-bad omen]] to make a fire sorceress angry?!
You bombard the grey around you. You can't see anything, but you can hear screams in the far distance.
Who's the one who really wants to scream?! You shout, a load roar echoing into the distance. There is no grey anymore, only red.
You roar louder, letting all your anger and pain be heard. You think of him: he is alive, he must be!
Tears mix into the cry, but they evaporate immediately.
You refuse to be contained here. Your entire being exudes an aura that presses against the space around you, your flames eat away at it, as small explosions line the edging of all you can see and hear.
You open your eyes and [[Haunted House Part 5A<-you are back]].
//'I wanted to try and see if I could kill you. So I did'//
You are that simple deep down. People said they couldn't understand you. You didn't manage to get along with them afterwards.
What's worse, they said they couldn't understand [[Haunted House Part 5B<-your father]], either.Panting, you take a look around.
You are back in the very same, but now very untidy, chamber. Ash covers the entirety of the walls, the chairs are broken, melted and split into tiny pieces and no sign of the other dragons who came in with you can be seen.
Slowly, you catch your breath, and take a closer look. The [[Melted Chains Description<-chains]] lining the wall must have melted. You are too tired to praise your efforts, as your fire still burns.
You hear wings flapping in the corridor.
It's the attendant from before, and now you actually [[Haunted House Part 6A<-have a kind request for her.]]
She looks frightened out of her soul and hastily explains she 'evacuated' the other dragons when you started stirring, and that really, it was said right from the start illusions may appear, and that all dragons will be safe from start to finish.
You only growl at her, but that is all you do. Well, except throwing a fireball, or two. Not more than she can dodge. You are the reasonable sort, you guess that might have been explained. You don't know. You don't care.
You notice she is still scared as your flames have yet to stop quietly burning on top of your scales. You also notice said scales may have become a little too hot. But no matter.
Sighing, you shortly issue a heartfelt apology. You are sorry - truly, very, very sorry.
She doesn't believe you but that's her problem. There is only one question, and that is [[Haunted House Part 7A<-'Who made this?']]
She ponders for a bit, before she leads you through a number of corridors to some sort of office. Afterwards, she hurries away. She clearly does not feel comfortable around you, which makes you smile just a little bit.
In here, a fluffy dark ball is curled up in the corner.
Upon closer inspectation, this turns out to be a [[Tenebrae Description<-furcoated dragon]] that lazily yawns and starts to get up to greet you.
Is this really the one?
He shakes your claw completely ignoring the flames and asks if you would like an iced drink to cool down.
[[Haunted House Part 8A<-Maybe you do]]. It would be nice, actually.
A grey mass covers the corners of this room.
It was wise decision to use stone for [[Haunted House Part 5A<-these walls]].Some say emotion fuels magic. It does.
However, there is no such thing as magic getting out of control for you. There is simply no desire for you to reign it in.
You freely live the wish to burn anything [[Haunted House Part 4A<-in your way]] to cinders. He brings out a lovely [[Ice Tea Description<-iced tea]] that you start sipping.
Your flames slowly start dying down and reveal very, very [[Sensitive Flesh Description<-sensitive flesh]]. The air stings and charred pieces of skin and scale are falling down to your feet.
Before you can even think about what to do with this, the dragon in front of you already finished a healing spell that gently waivers around you. As if asking for your permission to get to work, it stays there.
He smiles softly at you, and you can't help but admire the finesse of his spellwork.
You are tired. You also let him heal you. That's a trust few dragons deserve and fewer have been granted before.
You don't feel like playing with this dragon in front of you. But something tells you he wouldn't fall for it anyway.
[[Haunted House Part 9A<-'Do you like imps?']] You ask without really thinking. It's rare to see furred dragons around these parts. Even rarer to see them follow the path of magic. But here you found one. A dark green fur that flickers into black patches, his wings have a light green lining.
He looks as lazy as any one of them, but the way he feels at ease around you [[Haunted House Part 7A<-irks you]]. It's a beautiful tea mixture based on green tea. Unlike most ice tea abominations, this one has a mild sweetness that is just right.
You have to admit [[Haunted House Part 8A<-this dragon]] has good taste.'Who doesn't like imps?' is the reply you get, from a dragon who clearly could not accept anything else. His voice is faint. You close your eyes and rejoice.
Yes. He gets it.
You lean forward and rest on the desk before you. You feel tired. You wanted to ask him something else, but it doesn't really matter [[Haunted House Part 10A<-anymore]].
It's not like you are the soft or squeamish sort, but even you know your limits. Your entire skin burning off is too much.
At least you can appreciate your [[Haunted House Part 8A<-ice tea]].
You feel burned out. BADUM TSSYou ask about the different apparitions and spells around the place, and he patiently answers most of your questions.
You are surprised by their setup - they are layered in different tiers and priorities. The second layer could only trigger if the first one was destroyed or triggered. Say, with a [[Fireball Solutions<-fireball.]]
Only, with a short explanation you won't be able to rebuild the spells. Any of them. For now you hope to squeeze as much knowledge as you can out of him.
When at first you felt well-versed in spell crafting, you are not. Not at all. [[Haunted House Part 17B<-It frustrates you to no end]].
Then you see another figure. Your smile freezes.
A black neck pierced by a lance appeared. You try to avert your eyes, but the image follows you.
Blood seeps out of the neck of a majestic slender black dragon. A lot of it. And it burns. His mane is burning in grey flames and he whispers something, but no words leave his mouth.
He still smiles to you. But you can't overlook the tears streaming down his face.
His eyes.. they are crying. They won't stop. You didn't want this.
[[Haunted House Part 2 2<-No...]] Hell no!
You gather yourself. You refuse to believe this. It's not real. Nothing of this is. Whatever this illusion is, it draws from something within you, so it must be within you to destroy this godforsaken image.
[[And that is exactly what you will do->Haunted House Part 3A]]
[[Haunted House Part 3B<-Yet somewhere you have the urge to look at him more, too.]] It makes you feel proud and [[Haunted House Part 3A 3<-strong]].
It makes you [[Haunted House Part 3A 4<- pull yourself together]]. It makes you feel [[Haunted House Part 3A 5<-separate]] from the rest of the world. Your senses are still dulled, but you can feel a glimmer of heat. You still feel alive. The images waiver and the grey shimmers like a puddle in the rain, clearly being affected by an [[Ardent Desire Description<-ardent desire]] to break out of here.
You have never felt so powerful before in your life. But something feels off.
You roar and gain control of your body in this grey mass. You slowly take form and you can even look down to see your scales, clad in a scarlet fire.
[[Haunted House Part 4A<-//You are angry.//]]New images start to appear, you are sitting on a mountain formed of ash. The evening sky stretches across the horizon, spilling all kinds of orange and brown over the scenery.
It looks beautiful.
You jump around and climb the mountain a little longer and let your spirit roam free. You must be [[Haunted House Part 11A<-dreaming]].
With a small light you take a look around. You can hear a faint heartbeat from one direction and follow it. You know it's your dream, but something feels off.
A slope. After you climb it, you see a vaguely familiar scene. As if frozen in time, the image of a crying black dragon stands before you. Unreal. Unmoving.
'He's dying, mommy, he's dying!'
A faint, young voice reaches your ears and your eyes fill with tears as if to mimmick this cursed thing.
You turn around to [[Haunted House Part 12A<-leave]]. A ghastly apparition stares right in front of your face. Red eyes pierce into you, and you can't move to do anything about them, despite this creature being right there. You shiver and panick, trying to find something, anything, to [[Help You Description<-help you]].
[[Tenebrae Dream Description<-He]] laughs straight in your face. It sounds more than a deep growl rather than anything else, but you think it is a laugh.
It's grinning at [[Haunted House Part 13A<-you]].This is ...
Focusing your eyes ... this is the same fuzzy dragon you encountered just a minute ago. Only he feels very different than before.
His fur is changing into sharp shapes as the wind blows through his mane.
His teeth are grit together in a twisted wide smile, as red light seeps out of his eyes. The blackness of the pupils sucks you in, and the red pierces you.
You are not sure what he is doing, but he must be doing [[Foreboding something<-//something//]] right this moment.
Something. Something bad.
You need to break out of here. [[Haunted House Part 13A<-Now!]]'What's the hurry?' He stops your thoughts, your limbs freeze. You even forgot the spell you wanted to case just a second ago.
You blank for a moment as a [[Cold Something Description<-cold something]] pushes ever so slightly against your throat.
'You can't even face your own flames. What in the world do you expect me to teach you? [[Haunted House Part 14A<-Begone!]]'You wake up drenched in a cold sweat.
Slowly, a gust of wind tells you that you are not in the office anymore. You take a [[Carnival<-look around]] and gather yourself.
Deep breaths.
You are safe. You are breathing. You are alive. Your heart is beating, and you listen to it for a while before you dare to [[raise yourself->Haunted End]] off the ground. You are back at the very entrance of the amusement park.
Dull voices are bustling in the background. And there is something you did not notice before - magic energy is permeating the entire thing. The very air is buzzing with a subtle chilling intent.
You don't like it. You've had enough of this [[Haunted House Part 14A<-'amusement' park]].But there is none.
The only thing you find is ash. Ash all around you.
Grey and black flickering and being carried by the wind.
You always knew you could only rely on yourself, but it looks like this time ... [[Haunted House Part 13A<-it may not be enough]].
You need not even look at it to know this is a knife.
A plain knife. Perhaps conjured, but certainly not magically enhanced. And here you are shivering like a dog.
You catch yourself and realize now is not the time to mock yourself. It is not helping you calm down, either. [[Haunted House Part 13A<-You should maybe try something else]]. You force a grin. What a //fun// day that was.
It really was. What you did manage is to observe enough of their magic to have clues studying up on them.
You learned something today: You are better off on your own.
And one day, [[Haunted End Return<-you will be back]].
'I Am My Own' Ending completed.
[[Start<-Start Over?]]When did you ever apoligize to anyone?! You- no, actually, it doesn't really matter anymore. He is the one person who deserves an apology, nothing else.
You feel angry. But there is noone to turn this anger towards other than [[Haunted House Part 6B<-yourself]].You sob out loud, you remember your reflection in those eyes that were too kind for a dragon like you. Eyes that clearly didn't deserve to love a dragon like you.
You killed him.
You killed him for no other reason than that you could. You were curious. About anything. About life, about death.
He said this was a good thing, you believed him. You are not sure if that is true anymore.
You slump down and feel [[Haunted House Part 6B<-powerless]]. You feel strange.
Something hot is flowing down your cheeks. You can't gather your thoughts or voice. You are a mess.
[['I am sorry'->Apology Description]]
Your thoughts only go to this point. It must be the first time to ever utter those words. To make up for this you keep saying them [[Haunted House Part 7B<-hundreds of times]]. You feel a lot of time has passed in this state. Somehow, the grey started to feel soothing. You softly drift in this space and quiet down.
There are many unanswered questions. For one, you could never figure out why he smiled until the end. Was he infected with madness? Possibly.
Did you ever deserve to be in his presence? You told yourself you did. So you must deserve it, right?
But suddenly nothing about yourself feels that clear anymore.
[[Haunted House Part 8B<-But that's alright.]] Because you remember.
He told you he is alike. So surely you will find out what he felt eventually. Who else could achieve that?
You grin. It is softer than usual, but it encourages you. //Some// dragons might consider you a madman. The term alone amuses you. But he would not. Which means there is no reason to stop being yourself [[Haunted House Part 9B<-now]]. A new determination fills your eyes and you slowly gain control of your senses.
The grey mist around you dissipates and the barren room shows itself in your vision again. You realize in shock others may very well have been aware of you this whole time.
[[You hope nobody saw that.->Haunted House Part 10B]]The attending dragon turns to you and eyes you for a while. You can tell she is very curious. Wonderful. You roll your eyes at the sight. You are still very much feeling through the previous experience and would appreciate a moment of quiet, thank you very much.
You try to move which creates a loud rattling noise - it seems the handcuffs are still in place. [[Haunted House Part 11B<-Curses]].
The snack bar. Food is within your reach!
Yet there are some people in front of you standing between you and everlasting bliss. Curse them.
You raise your head and look at the display of [[chocolates->Chocolate Description]], [[bonbon->Bonbon Description]], [[carbonated animal blood->Blood Soda Description]], [[ghost extract->Ghost Extract Description]], [[Candy Chicken Description<-candy chickens]], [[Gravel Description<-roasted sweet gravel]] as well as a number of other items.
There is also something labelled the [['XXL Supreme Sundae'->Supreme Sundae Description]]
Why is this called a snack bar? This is clearly a candy stand.
[[Grill Stand<-Look for proper food.]]
[[Candy Stand Order<-Get some Candy.]]
A queue full of different creatures. Queuing is a widely-acknowledged concept to determine the sequence in which people enter when only a limited number can enter at once. It also warrants needlessly long waiting times in amusement parks like this in order to make them hungry enough to buy snacks between each attraction.
Amusingly enough, although these people did not choose the full haunted house course, they seem to take this much more seriously than the people in the other queue.
You turn your attention back to possible [[Haunted House Entrance C<-real clues.]]Elves are a small bipedal species. They are known for rude mannerism and weak bodies. They do live longer than many similar species (or what is left of them) and as such managed to gather knowledge over time and built libraries. Species cooperate with them so that their search is not written down in only their elven language. You consider any one of them a handy thing to add to your collection if you had the chance. Who knows what all they could translate!
Nonetheless, today is not the day. You turn your attention back to possible [[Haunted House Entrance C<-real clues.]]You pause, why you would need to think about what the term "elemental spirit" might mean? It says it right there in the name: it is a spirit of a certain elemental alignment and essence. They are closer to weird moving flames or dustclouds than any regular physical existances. You find it cute to watch them eat their little non-sapient cousins. Who wouldn't want to see an odd cloud digest a handful of rocks?
You turn your attention back to possible [[Haunted House Entrance C<-real clues.]]You still feel upset no imps are present in this colorful bunch. Is this discrimination?
You turn your attention back to possible [[Haunted House Entrance C<-real clues.]]A few of the pixies, chatty beings as they are, join the conversation and you pass some time thinking of other pleasantries and memories.
You convinced them of your harmless intentions, and made the plan for them to distract the guardian with a loud gallop and some pixie dust.
Meanwhile you prepare some magic. It would be good if you could find some torches or similar to [[Torch Description B<-put out]] and enhance the performance.
Maybe you could even switch gears and accompany the summoning of your imp with a small delightfully colorful [[Spell<-spell]] of some sort.
Maybe you could ignore all that fancy stuff and just focus on the [[important things.->Hoove Distraction 5]]Being the kind goodwilled dragon you are, you prepare a quick [[healing spell->Healing Spell Description]].
He is looking better and better. There are only rough burn marks and scars left, which makes you wonder if his wounds really were that bad to begin with. Still, you have done a good deed and feel proud of yourself. [[Good job, you!->Brute Rune 3B]]Healing magic is an odd ball to practice. It is many times more effective cast on others than on yourself, and it is hard to transmute into spells with even a sliver of destructiveness. Many describe its effect as a cool soothing watery feeling deep down in their soul.
You never understood why something cold would feel soothing, but its healing effect is indeed very [[Help Guardian Path<-noticeable]].
There is something more fun to do next.
You take a look around, and to your delight noone seems to be alarmed. The couple is standing where it did, and your claws are already itching to cast another spell.
You smile as you let out the small [[Imp Description D<-imp]]. He hops up and down and questioningly looks at you. Clearly, he is waiting for a job to do.
You point towards the young dragon couple, and now the little guy is mirroring your grin.
[[Brute Rune 4<-You can't wait to see how they react!]]Imps are small little fellow from the demonic tribe.
You are better with [[Brute Rune 3B<-other things]].
There //are// torches to shine a warm light onto the tunnels.
Sadly, these are magical ones. Some glowing stones lie in their sockets.
They are the kind you would find in ancient tombs. A good choice.
You turn your attention back towards the [[Hoove Distraction 4<-crowd]].Your claws flicker and you ponder on what spells to use. You have talked about flowers so long already, but they would actually do just nicely this once.
You prepare a shower of petals, lillies and other colorful little illusionary magic pieces to accompany the emergence of your imp.
A small dark circle appears on the ground as you focus and your plan sets [[into motion->Hoove Distraction 5B]].
At your sign the commotion begins and the guard is visibly distracted by the sudden running back and turmoil. Those hooves turn out to be //really loud//. He glances at you but quickly realizes you are not the center of this. Of course you aren't.
You grin as you let out the small [[Imp Description CB<-imp]]. He hops up and down and questioningly looks at you. Clearly, he is waiting for a job to do.

[[Hoove Distraction 6B<-You can't wait to see how they react!]]This one here is a tiny black imp, and barely reaches to your knee. His wings flap happily as he jumps about.
You think you have seen this particular imp before, but you have trouble recalling his name. Daniel, maybe?
You are terrible with names.
You are better with [[Hoove Distraction 5B<-other things]].You sit back and watch as the cute creature slows down and quietly approaches the crowd. You are always amazed by how fierce they can look when facing other people. Any actor would be put to shame.
Meanwhile you are standing on the sidelines and wait.
A shrill shriek catches your immediate attention as a wonderful scene [[Hoove Distraction 7<-unfolds]] before you.You start processing your illusion magic and watch as the cute creature slows down and quietly approaches the crowd. You are always amazed by how fierce they can look when facing other people. Any actor would be put to shame.
Meanwhile you are waiting to release a rain of beautiful flowers. An imp carrying flowers, what a romantic idea!
A shrill shriek catches your immediate attention as a wonderful scene [[Hoove Distraction 7b<-unfolds]] before you.The imp sneakily hid behind the crowd and jumped up to the shoulder of the thin male dragon, a soft shadow was lying over the little imp like an extension of his wings and folded around the scared scaly one.
The dragon jumped, pushing his lover away and shrieked a loud 'Hiyaaaaaaaa!'. He had clearly never seen any such moving shadow in his life and called out to his lover to help him. He then curled up, not daring to look at the [[Hoove Distraction 8<-shadow over him]].
After a while the couple recovers slowly, and hugs each other tight. They clearly are unsure what just happened, and it looks like they are not keen on finding out either. They attest how much they love each other in this moment.
If it was you, you would want to punch the guy for just pushing you away. No, not punch. Curse, punch and blow him up [[into flames->Brute Rune 9]].
Strangely enough, it seems they are aware they both are just powerless uneducated scaredycats and do not blame each other for being that way.
For now, anyway.
You wonder if you would call it cute.
Even so, a wide smile stretches across your lips. [[Brute Rune End<-They really did like the imp]].'Nooo!', the female dragon joined the chorus of shrieks and fell to the ground. But you could also see her fear turning into a frantic determination as she tried to whip the little imp away with her tail. She didn't dare to look at where she was whipping, though, and knocked a few adorable centaurs and pixies to the ground, where they are now lined up like a [[fuzzy carpet->Brute Rune 7]].
The imp lets out a hearty laugh in response and flies right past the couple and away before they could make out any more, leaving behind a shadowy smokey trail that clung to them.
You join the laughter and let it [[Brute Rune 7b<-resonate]] throughout the entrance hall.A number of [[Gasps Description<-gasps]] run through the crowd as they see the scene.
[[Brute Rune 8<-Silence]] slowly fills the room. 'Nooo!', the female dragon joined the chorus of shrieks and fell to the ground. You could also see her fear turning into a frantic determination as she tried to whip the little imp away with her tail. She didn't dare to look at where she was whipping, though, and as a result hit a few elementals who clear did //not// like this.
The pixies are too shocked too react and are knocked down by the tail. A few of them glare into your direction, before turning back to a now very angry fire spirit.
The nearby guardian is busy trying to hold the fire elemental in check and trying to instill a sense of security in the crowd. His efforts do not seem [[particularly effective->Hoove Distraction 9]] and the imp already managed to slip away from his claws, too.
The situation slowly calms down, and you noticed the imp already returned seeing how too many people are approaching you.
The centaurs are not amused, and are watching you as well.
You wonder why they haven't called the guard yet. Perhaps they feel involved too.
Whatever it is, it makes you feel thankful towards them and appreciate their effort. You voice your [[earnest thanks->Hoove Distraction 10]].They do not seem to appreciate your earnest thanks. Not at all.
You can tell they are trying hard not to shout and insult you right there. Maybe you could even hear their teeth gnashing if you weren't focused on all the murmuring in the back.
It feels like the entire crowd is glaring at you now - you see pixies flying around to help spread the word too.
[[Hoove Distraction 11<-Now this is awkward]]. A certain guardian focuses on you, speeds towards you and twists you into an uncomfortable hold before you could properly react. You cry out at this uncoth action, but to no avail. He keeps dragging you somewhere else.
You eventually land in a detention cell. There are multiple guards watching you closely. All that's left is to wait to [[leave this place->How Boring End]]. How boring.
'How Boring' Ending completed.
You couldn't help yourself and landed in a cell.
[[Start<-Want to give it another go?]]The imp sneakily hid behind the crowd and jumped up to the shoulder of the thin male dragon, a soft shadow was lying over the little imp like an extension of his wings and folded around the young dragon.
At the same time, a loud 'Peng!' announces a shower of flowers, petals, and small glimmering embers as they dance in the sky on their way to the ground.
The dragon jumped and screamed. He unconsciously pushed his lover away before freezing on the spot. He had clearly never seen any such moving shadow in his life and wanted to call out to his lover to help him. But before he could do so he is stopped in his tracks by the beautiful flower shower.
[[Hoove Distraction 8b<-He is mesmerized]].
The entire crowd is silent. The two shaky dragons stare towards the everfalling flower petals, and looking around you notice the crowd does too.
Your trusted 'companions' are back to watch the show and smile.
The imp is clearly upset he is not the focus of the moment and starts casting his [[own illusionary magic->Imp Flowerfall Description]] - black petals and shadowy glittery lines while flying around.
Well, that did not go exactly as [[you planned->Hoove Distraction 9b]].
The crowd cheers and happy pixies dance and invite the centaurs and you to join them under the still falling petal shower. D-a-n-c-e. Yes, dance. You confirm that's the invitation.
You [[decline->Hoove Distraction 10b]].
You did not know he could do that.
However, his preference for shadow magic is clear. Only black and dusty grey sparkling lines are added to the mix, but clearly contrast the bright flowers you conjured. You have to admit it is very beautiful.
He is clearly more of a focus now, but this has to be the first time people cheered for his appearance. [[Hoove Distraction 8b<-By now they do, anyway]].Still, you enjoy watching your newfound clinging .. friends? You imagine that is the closest you can describe this.
You focus closely on the scene while others surround you and the previous neatly lined queue is an utter mess. You can even spy the eye of a very, very surprised [[Happily Surprised Guardian<-guardian]] through the crowd.
The magic slowly starts fading and you [[Hoove Distraction 11b<-ponder]] what you should do next. You are clearly still in the wrong queue, after all.
Didn't expect that, did you! //Hah!//
You forget all about the failed plan and glee in joy as you crush every expectation this guardian ever had for you. It feels //exhilerating//.
You can't help grinning, before breaking out into a hearty laugh. What an [[Hoove Distraction 10b<-odd scene!]]
You turn to look for the end of queue, as you are now still standing in the section for squeamish dragons. You remember this particular Haunted House coneveniently has a different section for dragons looking for a "challenge" and that is where you need to go. However, a chirpy voice breaks your attention horribly. You snort and flare your nostrils at them - [[nobody->Hoove Distraction 12b]] breaks your concentration!Or I guess somebody does. A pixie, to be exact. She completely ignores the display of dissatisfaction before and now on your face, and starts inquiring about why you came to this place, what you do, how many crushes you had growing up .. You sigh.
What did you get yourself into? Just as you finish the thought a centaur places his palm reassuringly on your droopy shoulders. 'Them's the shy sort, slow down a little!'
Af all things //a centaur// is trying to protect you. [[You sigh even heavier->Sigh Description]].
You really want to cry now. You simply wanted to play a nice prank on some dragons - admittedly, it was brilliant. You are still proud you did it, even if the initial plan failed. Imps were cherished.
And now..? You really just want to leave, but [[social obligation->social obligation description]] demands you stay [[here->Hoove Distraction 13b]]. Sadness. And with social obligation you mean to say there is way too big a crowd around you and the very people blocking your way are definitely trying to keep you [[Sigh Description<-around]]. It looks they really //did// take a liking to you. How awkward.
You considered blowing them all up already, but that really would leave a bad taste in your mouth now. They are cute little creatures in their own right. Weak, perhaps, but cute.
You don't just go harming cute creatures. That is the most important lesson you learned growing up. The only lesson, some would say.At least the barrage of questions does slow down to a more manageable pace. They try to accomodate for you, even if they blatantly ignore the displeasure of such a conversation.
You decide you may just go see the other, easier, run-down path of the Haunted House. The start of the attraction is near. You lost all hope of it being frightening, but you do appreciate something [[cute->Haunted Cute]] every now and then. You look around you, and you smile softly. [[Hoove Distraction 14b<-This is it]].
You enter the attraction, and are led through close corridors with a nice helping of smoke, darkness and flickering lights in the distance.
Deep howls start appearing now and then, with canine creatures flashing their teeth - appearing and disappearing into the void.
You smile softly at the little tricks and occasional spells in place. Your companions disagree and whimper [[Hoove Distraction 15b<-helplessly]] as you procceed through the tunnels. If nothing else, you realize with joy, you get so see cute little frigthened things - all without needing to scare them yourself! That is quite the treat.
You can already see the pixies shaking in anticipation. Now you understand what the little wings are for - they amplify any minute movement.
You [[smile->Hoove Distraction 13b]].By the end of the Haunted House, you feel as though you are carrying most of the little pixies, as well as one centaur who is holding onto you tightly.
You can't mind that little bit of physical contact. They are just so adorably frightened! It seems they noticed your lack of fear in front of these 'terrible, terrible' things and are taking advantage of it.
Leaving the attraction, they actually invite you to join them for a few snacks. Apparantly they came together to begin with and have been enjoying their time here.
[[Friends Ending<-Accept]]
[[Decline->Pathing Ending]]No, thank you. You decline and scratch your head at the disappointed gazes.
You feel a little sad, but you then remember how horridly exhausting these - or any - companions are. You made your decision.
Your also feel you really, really deserve some rest. It was a long day already, and you are in need of [[delicious food->Delicious Food Description]] and good rest.
You went out and didn't really get all that you wanted, but at least you had some fun and a tomorrow waiting for you. Also, delicious food. You wonder what fish they have on sale today.
Wanderer Ending completed.
[[Start<-Start Over?]]You know what? Why not. You accept the invitation and spend the rest of the afternoon with them - chatting, eating, and showing off some beautiful [[Impromptu Magic Tricks Description<-impromptu magic tricks]].
They really like you, and you have grown to find them more comfortable to be around than you first assumed.
You heard they practice different magic in beast tribes. Perhaps you can join them in their travels later down the road.
Without realizing it you have made friends.
'Friends Ending' completed.
[[Start<-Start Over?]]They really think you must have practiced this for ages, hahaha!
Well, technically, magic as a whole you //have// practiced for ages. That kills your enjoyment just a little bit.
Still, you have to appreciate [[Friends Ending<-whatever you can]].The worse you feel, the more you need good food. It is one of the best habits you practice, and even one that is acknowledged by public opinion. It fills you with a certain pride. There are few things of yourself you can say this about!
You are already contemplating what to make. A stew would take too long. Maybe some lovely grilled vegetables with some fresh fish. There is eggplant that still needs to go, and there was a fish market [[Pathing Ending<-on the way to your lodging]].She finally snaps out of her daze, thankfully, and moves to help you out of the chair. Well, those handcuffs served their purpose and now release your hands with a soft 'clink'.
Freedom!
Shortlived freedom, you realize, as the little dragon babbles away as soon as she finished taking these off. Something about how you just shook off the spell like that, and how you did not even scream once. The sound is grating on your ears and you wish she would just stop.
You remember you are free to speak now, and kindly [[Haunted House Part 12B<-tell her to shut up]].
She did not particularily enjoy your kindly telling her to shut up. She also seems confused. You shrug it off and take a look around the room. It may not be her fault her [[Fairy Dragon Species Part 2<-species]] has such a torturous voice, but it still //is// her voice.
The room is as clean and simple as it was before. The chains are still resting across the stone walls, and the few dragons who came into this room with you are resting on their respective chairs with distorted expressions on their face. One is crying, which makes you feel slightly awkward.
You tell her you will walk back on your own, and it //surely// would make sense for her to keep watch over the other dragons.
There is really [[Haunted House Part 13B<-no need]] for her to accompany you. She reluctantly agrees.
Could it be you did not examine her when you met her?
You wonder whenever you were slacking like that. You also remember you try to ignore fairy dragons whenever possible.
Maybe it was for the better.
Yes, fairy dragons. Small, nimble, weak dragons with piercing, chirping, grating voices.
Like [[hers->Haunted House Part 12B]].You sigh as you walk leave the room and walk down the corridor - you reach a small corner.
Thankfully she did not follow you. You slump down and lean against the wall.
You breathe out slowly. The ceiling lights are bright. [[Haunted House Part 14B<-You close your eyes]]. You remember. You also feel delightfully sleepy. You hear soft steps closing in on you, and you open your eyes again.
What greets you is a [[soft-furred dragon->Tenebrae Description B]] wanting to shake hands.
Half-asleep, you purr softly before looking away and clearing your throat.
Can't he see you are in no way [[capable of socializing->Socializing Description]] right now?
[[Haunted House Part 15B<-You yawn and stretch.]]The favorite treat of any earth elemental. You would prefer roasted almonds, but this is a niche of its own. One you will make sure to stay clear from.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display->Candy Stand Overview]]'Lovely weather, isn't it? I have been selling candy here for years, and let me tell you, this is the perfect day for a treat!'
No wonder the queue was so long.
Recognizing your lack of response, enthusiasm, as well as the glare you are giving him, the vendor quickly finishes his chit-chat and takes your order.
[[Candy Stand Order 2<-'What will you have?']][[Buy Chocolates->Chocolate Buy]]
[[Buy Bonbons->Bonbon Buy]]
[[Buy Blood Soda->Blood Soda Buy]]
[[Buy Ghost Extract->Ghost Extract Buy]]
[[Candy Chicken Buy<-Buy Candy Chickens]]
[[Candy Stand Gravel<-Buy a bag of roasted sweet gravel.]]
[[Order The 'XXL Surpreme Sundae'->Supreme Sundae Buy]]
[[Candy Stand Gravel 2<-...?]]You put a few pieces of gravel into your mouth. It is sweet with a soft salty edge to it, giving it a nice, full, round flavor.
You know what else is round? This rock you just put into your mouth. You test out its hardness and indeed, 'rockhard' does it justice.
You //could// try to properly [[chew it->Candy Stand Gravel Chew]]. But you pray fate has no such cruel punishment in store for you. You really don't want to do anything with it. Is there even a good use for this?
[[Candy Stand Gravel 3<-You spit the gravel out.]]Your mouth is now freed from the gravel.
There are some hatchlings running around - you throw some of the leftover pieces of gravel at them while walking around some more.
Even realizing you are still hungry, you definitely do not want to go back to the 'Snack Bar' any time soon. Nut you could definitely take a look at the [[Start<-actual park.]]A strong logic-defying urge to chew on the pieces of gravel in your mouth overcomes you. Why are you doing this?!
Do you really have to...?
[[Chew on the gravel.->Candy Stand Gravel Chew 2]]
[[Candy Stand Gravel 3<-Spit it out.]] The heavens have forsaken you. You wish a certain coffee-drinking individual would burn in the depths of your home volcano.
You put pressure onto your teeth and a soft 'crunch' makes itself heard as you try to chew on the stones. You feel a strange, warped joy as your teeth start aching. You keep going, determined to [[Candy Stand Gravel Chew 3<-somehow make this work]].
It did not work.
Blood is dripping down your lips, and the stones, while somewhat in smaller pieces, are not properly chewed at all. Your mother would be disappointed with you. You somehow have the urge to keep chewing, but reign it in. All you can do now is pray your teeth are salvagable.
All that is left is ...
[[Candy Stand Gravel 3<-to spit them out.]]
[[Candy Stand Gravel Chew 4<-to swallow them.]]
[[Why...?->Candy Stand Gravel Chew 5]]You hold back your tears as you swallow the rough pieces of half-chewed gravel down your throat. You feel slightly less hungry.
What a wonderful accomplishment! You feel proud of yourself, and of your previous actions. You wish everyone knew what you just did.
You [[Start<-silently walk back to the entrance]]. Good, simple chocolates. They come in cute bags of various shapes and sizes. One bag on the far end seems to be a surprise bag. Next to this one, you admire the detail on the leaf-shaped chocolates and there are some lovely dark chocolates available too.
This would make a wonderful gift, but also a good treat. You can't really go wrong with chocolate.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display->Candy Stand Overview]]If dentists invented a way to get more people to come their way, bonbons have to be it.
Sugar in a tough, slow-melting form and various artificial flavors. Efficent, perhaps, but not really the peak of taste.
The flavors available are strawberry, mint, blood and caramel.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display->Candy Stand Overview]]Some cruel species found their prey to be tastiest right at the moment they died. Some occultists also tried to get a taste of one's energy itself, their soul, so to speak.
Combining the two has created the latest popular snack-powder to have in a guilt-filled manner of sour stinging sweetness. Truth to be told, though, it is highly questionable if this bright green powder has anything to do with souls, but it sure became popular with the kids.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display->Candy Stand Overview]]You can tell this stand tries to cater to as many species and tastes as possible. This sweet beverage is as unhealthy as any other, but it suits the pallette of any carnivore. It also has an incomparably rich and deep flavor.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display.->Candy Stand Overview]]The 'XXL Supreme Sundae' appears to be some sort of challenge item. Looking closely, you see a short description on one of the posters to the side of the stand.
It says //"Layered goodness of chocolate, ice cream, cream, strawberries, pudding, cookies, chocolate, caramel, syrup, chocolate and more..."//
The fact the description could not list the entirety of the sundae worries you.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display->Candy Stand Overview]]Sweets, gummy bears and various candy in chicken form are lined up here.
They look colorful, cute and delightfully detailed, if a little unmoving.
[[You turn back to the rest of the display->Candy Stand Overview]]You stare at the small bag filled with glittering green powder.
You could [[poke at it->Ghost Extract Poke]] first.
Or you could just [[pour some of it into your mouth.->Ghost Extract Buy 2]] You poke at the bag with your claw. A soft sizzle can be heard.
Next, you dip your clawtips in and a subtle burning sensation spreads around it.
Clearly, [[this is high quality food->Ghost Extract Buy]]. Here goes nothing! You pour the powder into your mouth, and a strong sour taste overwhelms your tastebuds. A sizzle rings in your ears and the powder is foaming.
It slowly unfolds its flavor and a subtle sweetness mixes into now subsiding sourness.
This actually tastes... alright.
You do not feel particularily filled. Yet somehow, ignoring the burning pain in your throat, you feel ready [[Start<-for more action.]]
You decide to buy some chocolate.
The words 'Dark chocolate, please' almost escaped your mouth already when you remembered the mystery bag. Curious, this bag.
You can't ever go wrong with chocolate, right?
You feel tempted to [[Mystery Eat<-order the Mystery Chocolate]].
On second thought, though, [[Dark Chocolate Eat<-Dark Chocolate]] will always reign supreme.Dark chocolate.
You put it into your mouth the moment you received it, and its rich full taste fills you with happiness.
Pure bliss. You hum happily as you slowly savor the chocolate.
This is the best, [[Dark Chocolate Eat 2<-after all.]]Before you know it, most of the chocolate is gone. You secretly wish you purchased more of it. You still have //some// left, but you realize you have no more chocolate at home.
You put away an emergency share for later and turn to [[Start<-explore the rest of the amusement park]]. You received the chocolate, and you had started licking it happily before you had to stop //right there//.
You were wrong after all.
This cannot be called edible!
The onslaught of mixed flavors completely hides the goodness of chocolate and instead leaves a strange mix of chili peppers, mint and something that reminds you of vomit.
You secretly hope it only reminds you of it and it is not your own trying to make its appearance.
[[Mystery Eat 2<-What a waste of chocolate.]]You bought them with your own money, too.
Sulking, you walk around the park for a while and drink some fresh water to wash away the taste.
Thinking about it, this is probably meant to be something you can use to prank others with. Except, who would defile chocolate for such nefarious purposes?! It's such a daring cruel thing to do.
You try to distract yourself before you burn a certain stand down. While still hungry, your stomach is too sensitive to be burdened with even more. There is more to see [[Start<-in this amusement park]], at least. It does not relieve your grumbling all that much.
Truth to be told, you don't particularily care about any of the flavors, so you just threw together a mix of all of them.
You also aren't particularily excited about bonbons for that matter, but they will fire your blood sugar up just fine.
They also taste alright, if the sweetness wouldn't be so overwhelming [[Bonbon Buy 2<-after a little while.]] You actually really liked the mint ones. The blood ones were really good, too. Let's not talk about the strawberry ones. Now if you could brush your teeth somewhere your day would be perfect.
You still have leftovers for later, and as such feel prepared to explore the rest of the [[amusement park.->Start]]You bought some blood soda.
You briefly wonder if this sugary liquid in this cup would prove to be very filling. You doubt it, but a candy shop truly is the wrong place for any such notion.
You take a sip and are delighted by how well the taste of the original blood comes through. Together with a lot of sugar and fizz, it makes for a decent drink as you walk around the perimeter.
You could still [[Grill Stand<-get some real food]], or just [[explore the rest of the amusement park->Start]], first. You reach the designated grill stand, but all that greets you is a worn, empty booth. Dust is gathering on the counter. No creature is to be seen. Only a few more run-down shacks line the roads leading to this lonely place.
A sign reads 'Due to the health promoting effect of fresh food, the grill stand is still under reconstruction. [[Unwellness Description<-The Corporation for Unwellness]] is [[Sorry Sorry Description<-//very sorry//]] for any inconvenience caused'
Looks like this company has too much money to be buying stands like this.
Sadly, it means you will not get any filling food. Bummer.
[[No food for you, then.->Start]]You reign supreme, and if this was not made for you, then what else here is? You decisively order the XXL Supreme Sundae. [[Now all that's left is to wait.->Supreme Sundae Buy 2a]]
'Are you sure...?' The vendor is clearly worried you actually ordered the XXL Supreme Sundae.
He warns you that it really is very, //very// big and no living thing should ever order it alone. He does not mention the size of the bill, which would likely be a much more convincing reason to you.
That said, [[Candy Stand Order 2<-you could order something else.]]
[[Supreme Sundae Buy 2<-//Or// you could get the surpreme sundae you deserve.]]
You take hold of a spoon and start digging into the soft, creamy mass. You bring the spoon to your mouth and enjoy the rich flavors, then eat a cookie from the top.
It is good. Really good.
[[You can't help but keep eating.->Supreme Sundae Buy 4]]
You hold a large chunk of candy in your claws. It is thick, hard, and shaped like a chicken. You ponder how to eat it. You do not want to subject your teeth to chewing this lump of sugar, that's for sure.
Hesitantly, you start licking the side of it, slowly getting a taste for the strong artificial strawberry flavor.
You wish they had more of a chicken flavor, or more of a liveliness to it. Chicken that neither move nor taste like chicken are not really that interesting.
You dump it into the nearest trashcan. You might as well see [[Start<-what else is in the park now]].
Clearly, what makes chickens interesting is that they move - an ability this candy lacks.
Would it not be fun if they did move?
[[Start Over?->Start]]You had enough of this busy, noisy place.
You truly feel most at ease at home. Is that boring? You don't know, and frankly, you don't care too much.
You turn to walk back and start your magic practice again. By yourself.
'Going Home Ending' completed.
[[Start<-Start over?]]It is no secret you avoid most company. It is also so much easier to be by yourself - imagine all the topics a modest sorceress such as yourself needs to avoid when talking to most creatures.
'Oh, that one time I accidentally roasted my neighbor's cat', you found out, is not at all an amusing story to many of them.
[[Still, there is always the chance of them enjoying the topic. Right?->Haunted House Part 14B]]You can feel a faint magic aura coming from this furred little guy. Is he a magician?
It's rare to see furred dragons around these parts. Even rarer to see them follow the path of magic. But here you found one. A dark green fur that flickers into black patches, his wings have a light green lining.
There's a bag awkwardly strapped to his back.
He looks as lazy as any one of them, but the way he feels at ease around you is slightly odd. On the upside, [[Haunted House Part 14B<-this means you can worry less about social expectations.]]
You stretch your back to its full length and gently stroke your arms as you let out a looong yawn. That feels //so// good.
Having ignored him for a while, you realize this dragon still is prepared to shake hands with you. You look at him for a bit, questioningly, before shaking hands.
'I am Tenebrae, the organizer of this Haunted House', he introduces himself patiently.
Doesn't this mean he is the one who set up the spells around this place?
Doesn't this mean he appreciates magic? And doesn't that mean [[Haunted House Part 16B<-he loves imps?!]]Did you just blurt out the last part of that? You think you did.
Before you can curse your tired self, he replies with a nonchalant 'Who wouldn't like imps?'
YES! You know about nothing of this dragon, but at least he shares your appreciation of imps and possibly even your sense of humor. No bad person could like imps. Excitment overtakes your weariness. You found a common subject and start immersing yourself in a conversation about magic and pranks. Your favorite was a cursed doll playing piano in a music shop.
After a while you also slowly get up from the floor. [[There are many lingering questions.->Haunted House Part 17B]]
You vaguely remember your desire to blow up a certain part of the runes outside the Haunted House. Oops.
Fireballs may not be the solution to everything, but //they will be//.
Even now, your mind is trying to come up with a way to send fireballs into such a layered spell without triggering anything.
Having realized your concept of such a system is far too rudimentary to work around it just yet, [[Haunted House Part 17B<-you return your attention back to the conversation at hand]].
You can always work out the details later.[[Why did you see an image of your memory?->Why Father]]
[[Magic System<-How does the magic around the place work?]]
[[Why have you seen no imps around here?->Why No Imp]]
[[If you had blown up a few attractions on the way here, would he mind?->Rhetorical Question]]
[[Blow Up<-Do you know any advanced fire magic?]]
[[Purpose<-Why did he come looking for you?]]
[[Can you go now? Please?->Go now]]You ask him about the images you saw in the Haunted House - how could they conjure up the one thing you lost? You also have him know it was very uncomfortable and the chairs had the most terrible padding - no padding.
'You can't see what is not yours. How come you don't know that?'
Now he went all philosophical on you. Cheapskate. This is not a practical answer at all and you roll your eyes. You try to question him further, but all you can understand is that he is not creative enough to come up with a setting all on his own. None that would be considered scary, at least. So instead he just lets the 'victim' search through scenarios on their own.
Dull imagination aside, it seems to at least be efficient in its own right. Who knows how many different scenarios this creates with no further effort on his side.
[[What a lazy bastard.->Haunted House Part 17B]]He just avoids the question, joking how you must have already seen at least one imp here. You have //no idea// what he might be talking about.
Discrimination. Clear discrimination.
You surely cannot remember any of them in the crowd, and you know you would have spotted them immediately.
[[He's a terrible conversationalist, isn't he?->Haunted House Part 17B]]
'Truth to be told, I never studied fire magic in detail.'
Has he gone mad? You turn around to leave. This buffoon has no concept of how this world works. Fire first, everything else second.
Just in time though, [[Haunted House Part 17B<-you realize you might as well ask more questions first]], and //then// leave.
A rhetorical question. Whether anything gets destroyed in the process of enjoying the park is outside of anyone's hands. Especially yours. It's an inevitable result of setting the attractions up in the first place.
He interrupts your chuckle with a stern remark.
'Are you saying you want to pay for the damage?'
No, no you do not. You can't blame him for not reading your mind, but can't he guess that it is not your fault?
Snorting, you tell him just that, and that if he came asking for money, he should have said so. You'd happily burn him to a crisp on that occasion.
He can't believe you. Is that good? [[You think it is.->Haunted House Part 17B]]
Friendly socializing aside, you would now very much enjoy some quiet time after resolving your childhood trauma.
You had your fill of conversation and friendly dragon as he is, nothing personal, can he just go away? [[Go now 2<-Thank you very much.]]No, it seems he does not want to leave just yet, he is rummaging around his backpack. Thankfully, you realize, there is the option to simply ignore all social obligation and leave.
[[Know 'em all, don't care Ending<-You do just that and leave.]]
[[Pen Pal Ending<-Or you can wait for him to finish his weird fumbling motion first.]]You walk out of the corridor, and realize you have no idea where you are.
Good thing your quick thinking and proactive mindset figured out the solution to this problem immediately.
You start conjuring fireballs and burn a hole into the ceiling - big enough for you to leisurely fly through. You leave swiftly and rejoice that noone is following you.
You saw some good magic today. You don't know why, but the strong urge to learn more about this place escaped you. The weirdo you just left behind seems strong, but you can always ask him for pointers another time if you really need to.
You feel it is time to delve into occult magic now.
It would be lovely to chat with your father again and tell him you are doing well right now.
'Know 'em all, don't care Ending' completed.
[[Start Over?->Start]]
Gosh, he takes forever to rummage through his belongings. Did he open a portal to another dimension? Yeah, right.
[[You wait.->Pen Pal Ending 2]]He really could have opened a portal by how long it takes him to find something that clearly is one of his own possessions. Ridiculous.
[[Does it really matter that much?->Interlude]]
You may also [[just wait->Pen Pal Ending 3]] until he has found his long lost poetry collection, or whatever else is hidden in that backpack of his.
There's no way it matters as much as your ruined patience. You behaved well enough and did not even burn down anything in the process. It is a good thing you are walking away before you do.
[[Know 'em all, don't care Ending<-You turn around and silently leave.]][[You tap your feet.->Pen Pal Ending 4]] Your tenacity is being challenged in an incredibly boring way. Looking over to the dumb creature, you see he is still fumbling with his pockets. You hope that's what it is.
[[Interlude<-You might just walk away]] but that does not feel particularily proper. You already waited long enough.
You resign yourself to [[Pen Pal Ending 5<-wait some more.]] You have to wait an extroardinary amount of time. You hope the vendor did not find more poor victims to chat with. Just as you think this, the vendor returns [[Supreme Sundae Buy 2b<-with a cart.]]
A soft nudge makes you turn towards the fuzzy creature again.
He finally he hands you a [[Shining Token Description<-shining token]]. You have no idea what it is, but you accept it.
He softly explains the way to the exit and [[you are on your way.->Pen Pal Ending 6]]
On it, a huge towering glass container is filled to the brim with layers of - in this order - chocolate, vanilla ice cream, cream, strawberries, cookie crumbs, chocolate, caramel, chocolate syrup, more strawberries, different ice cream (maybe peach), more cookie crumbs, pudding, cream, some red syrup, walnuts, more vanilla ice cream, green ice cream, white chocolate, caramel, green syrup, cookies, raspberries, blackberries, some more green ice cream, almonds, kiwi as well as whipped cream on top and five of those coffee cookies.
You do not want to look at how much money you just handed over. Thankfully, a certain sundae is here to take your mind off of this fact.
[[Supreme Sundae Buy 3<-It's only you and this huge ice cream sundae now.]]You keep at it. Layer after layer of ice cream disappears, and you notice your wrist is feeling the constant repetition. And this is only the beginning.
You [[stare->Supreme Sundae Buy 5]] into an [[abyss->Abyss Description]] opening up before you.
You keep eating, gulping down the different layers, licking the spoon off every time you do.
Your stomach is aching, but your tongue is still tasting the rich flavors of different ice creams. The pistaccio one you are at right now is especially good.
Slowly, though, you notice you feel very full and sluggish.
And you are [[Supreme Sundae Buy 6<-only halfway through]].
They say not to stare into the abyss. They actually mean you need to be able to bare the consequences of learning about yourself when you do. As a responsible draconic adult, you do. You know what an abyss means and how to deal with it.
This right here is telling you one thing - you want more.
You are already filled to the brim with ice cream, //but you want more//.
You are already struggling, but you simply, [[Supreme Sundae Buy 4<-//desparately// want more]].[[Supreme Sundae Buy 7<-Keep eating]]
[[Abort mission->Supreme Sundae Nap]]You force more and more slowly melting substances into your mouth.
They swirl into weird shapes and colors in front of your eyes.
[[Supreme Sundae Buy 8<-You keep eating]]. Somehow you made it through the entire thing. You drop the spoon with a 'clank' into the empty glass.
Your stomach is churning as you try to make a toast. [[Maybe that was a little much.->Supreme Sundae Buy 9]] You float upwards, looking at the scenery stretching out before you.
Slowly you notice you also can see your body slowly fading further away. It appears you have separated from it, and you certainly feel a little less nauseous right now.
[[You really //can// have too much ice cream.->Ghost Ending]] You wiggle around and try to make sense of things. You can still move and observe things. Your body is still there, looking as beautiful as it did a moment ago, if slightly engorged.
You decide to do the best with the situation - the very least you can do is to pay the shopkeeper a visit to show him your 'appreciation'. Gently.
Ghost Ending complete.
[[Start<-Start Over?]]You plop down to the ground and roll over.
You feel very, //very// full.
[[Nap 2<-You wish you could rest for a moment.]]
Or you could try to get right [[Sundae Interim<-back into action.]]
The sun feels warm and soothing on your scales, your belly is filled with ice cream, and a soft breeze is carassing you. A paradise come true.
[[You slowly close your eyes.->Nap 3]] [[Nap 4<-...]]After a while you stretch and greet the daylight once again.
It looks like the passerbys had enough decency to leave you alone. Slowly you get on your feet and take a look around.
Yep. Still at the food corner.
Good.
[[Start<-You walk back to the entrance plaza]] - there is more to see here!'I came to see if you wanted to learn more about magic'
So, speaking candidly, your ardent desire to meet the people behind the workings has reached his office corner. Creepy, yet also fortunate. You appreciate that the feeling of curiosity is mutual.
[[Boop->Purpose 2]]'But you are not a kind dragon. Not at all.'
The words hit you. Normally you'd dismiss them outright, but today you look at them for some reason. You are not kind, not by any standards. You are not particularly pleasant to be around for most folk, either, which makes the distaste mutual.
The fuzzy dragon just keeps looking at you, quietly.
[[Purpose 3<-You gather yourself and answer.]]
Upon closer inspectation you see this is a crystal with letters engraved into it.
You see his name, address as well as a a short code. You are not sure what exactly it is for, perhaps a communication channel? [[Pigeon Post<-A pigeon home?]] Some people have letter boxes there.
[[Pen Pal Ending 5<-Whatever it is, you are sure you can figure it out somehow.]]Some may say using pigeons to deliver letters is a very slow and ineffective way of sending mail.
And they are right.
However, some people prefer the feeling of raising and holding little tiny cute birds in their claws as they think of writing a loved one.
[[Pen Pal Ending 5<-You can well see this furred dragon might be one of those eccentric people.]] You somehow drag yourself back up to your feet.
Slowly, you move towards the direction of the entrance.
You bump into numerous people who are somehow voicing complaints your direction. [[Start<-Not like you care about any of them.]]
The Unwellness Corporation originally had a different name. Apparantly some government-fueled lawsuit had a number of companies change their name to what ideal their company actually represent. Between fees and name change, the choice was easy.
Money Corporation was already taken - it's a classic name, similar to I4Bucks and CrashCash. Money Co. is also, ironically, one of the friendliest companies around. They have transparent goals and treat their staff well. By now they have their hands in many things, from healthcare to cars, to student loans. Not to mention their 'Give me Money'-rubberducks are adorable.
Unwellness Corporation, in comparison, is all it says on the tin. Its focus is wellness products and food, and you still shake in horror thinking of the new meat prototype they introduced a year ago. It did not taste like meat, or anything edible at all. More like a cross between half-chewed chewing gum and roadkill.
Having learned from that PR disaster, they stick to slowly eroding the many companies under their wings now.
[[Grill Stand<-Did you mention you do not like this company all that much?]]You know you can trust the apology of the Unwellness Company. Especially when they just left the booth to dust over. A booth that was serving good, proper food. Like the food you like to eat.
Flames flicker on your clawtips... what was it you wanted to do again?
[[Burn.->Grill Stand Burn]]
[[Grill Stand<-Don't burn.]] The flicker turns into a bright flame that tantalizes your scales with its warmth. You gently touch the sign, which in turn starts burning brightly. Carassing your ears is a gentle sizzle.
Only a short minute later the sign is now a tiny pile of ashes. Wonderful. Talk about sending a message.
You eye the booth, hesitating.
[[Grill Stand Burn 2<-Burn it?]]
[[Grill Stand Burn 2<-Burn it.]]Your smile widens and you start laughing, loudly, proudly, as you start firing off fireballs.
Whirls and 'booms' of fire crash into the old booth, which is now shining brightly as it gives a glorious last sigh.
If it has to die, it should in a fire. Like a certain group of people.
Smiling, [[Start<-you return to the entrance]] to look around some more.
That's all you came here for, right? You are sure you didn't forget anything.
You howl and summon flames around you once more.
There are people who are too kind for their own good. Those who cannot strike back in anger, those who cannot speak back. Those who hold back their tears and claws as they are in pain and are being hurt. They sacrifice their voice for a cry of peace and hope for the far future.
You are not one of them. You live now.
[[Purpose 9<-And you face the world with a wide smile.]]You leave, and feeling you want some quiet time, you fly to a small hill outside the premises.
You examine the glowing crystal closely, and it flashes up with the projection of a certain furry creature.
"Hello! This is a new letter-box I am developing. I left you all the codes necessary to operate it - let's stay in contact!"
And he did, a couple images flash up which you commit to your memory. You wager the option of just ignoring him. But considering they might help you blow things up in the future, A pen pal sounds like a fun thing have.

"You have no right to lecture me of kindness while not offering any. I may not be kind, but I am proud."
The many things you have accomplished, they all retain their value. And even while intermediate in front of true masters, your knowledge of sorcery is vast and deep. What is he getting at?
You have a right to exist. You have lived just fine so far, and you are about [[Purpose 4<-to do even better.]]
In short, this dragon can go fuck off. You glare daggers at him.
[[Purpose 5<-"If you want to share your knowledge you will, if not, you won't."]] [[Purpose 6<-Stop.]][[Playing.->Purpose 7]][[Purpose 8<-Around.]] You laugh as you burn up, you laugh and let it resonate throughout the area.
"I am not kind, what will you do about it, huh?", you grin.
The furry guy now in turns sports his own ferocious grin, distorting his pleasant face. A black mass surrounds him. Clearly, he won't just back off seeing your display. [[Purpose 10<-Beautiful.]]
You may have made a mistake.
[[Start Over?->Start]]As if mimicking your fighting stance, he clouds himself in shadow energy which flickers and shines. He then simply bodyslams into you, intending to clash with you outright. The dark envelopes and chokes you, whereas you sear and burn him away starting at his furtips.
[[The feeling is //exhilerating//.->Purpose 11]]The flimsy cloth to the sides rips and burns as you test each other.
You feel like a little girl again as you ram your knee into his stomach, and he his elbow into your face. Your vision blurrs a little bit, but you catch yourself quickly enough.
After this, the both of you stop and grin.
[[Purpose Ending<-"I like you. How about we become partners?"]]
"You know it, buddy."
You look forward to sparring in a proper arena, rather than this hallway. You did not know why you were drawn to this place, but you are glad to have found it.

Have you ever wanted to leave behind magical presents for after you left the building? Or would you consider protecting your diary with a small bang? Then rune magic is for you.
You simply slowly conjure runes in different languages that keep your spell unactivitated until certain conditions are met. It may the slowest and most complex kind of magic, but it is likely the most versatile. And happens to be the most notorious to get rid of, too. All this combined makes rune magic perfect for guarding any particular space of your own.
Sadly, you can detect no magical aura around any of these runes, and they serve only as a small aesthetic addition and mood-setter for the [[Haunted House<-Haunted House.]]A number of birds are crossing your line of sight. The mammoth-cloud is slowly moving away, little by litte.
Exciting.
You earnestly have the burning desire to [[Magical Outside View<-keep it up even longer.]] Of course you do.
You could just [[turn back to the cabin->Inside Ferris Wheel]] and save yourself the time, though.
