MULTI-LANGUAGE TEMPLATE

Tutorial for working with several languages

Basically, whenever people want a foreign language, they need to have a Japanese or whatever RTP, in order to do that. Besides being unacceptable for basic translation purposes (since the code is in the original language, I am almost certain this requires rewriting actual code, rather than simply editing strings and dialogue), this is also limiting for purposes where you have people speaking several languages (for example, if you wanted to have a Legend of Zelda-style Book of Mudora, this would allow you to work something out).

It also includes a short tutorial on how to make picture text, so you could in theory display any text you want.

is there a RPG Maker Vx ace version for this?
I generally don't work with VX/Ace (poor), but I'm pretty sure you could do the same thing.

Can you use icons or the like in text boxes? If so, then yes, and I could probably make a ton of individual katakana icons on demand given instruction. If not, then the latter part (the picture textboxes) should still be applicable.
I need the original Japanese names that the jp ver. of rm2k3 had for Special Magic and among other things but these are still in english and barely any of the rtps in this are in japanese.
Every time i try to install the jp rtp for rm2k3 i get a stupid error every time.
Sigh... this is not a jp rtp. The error you're probably getting, is that it's patched for the english, and is incompatible with japanese rtp.

It's an English rtp, set up so you can have Exfonts (see the tutorial dammit). There are some sample languages, and notes to setup for your own languages.

Basically, you can have a town, where the average person says random japanese phrases like "私はうんちを取る必要がある". The characters read the Exfont (stop trying to patch to jp rtp) and say, in English "What are they saying?" I also showed how to have a foreign language menu using said Exfonts.

...Remember how Zelda 3 had Hylian text, where you needed the Book of Mudora to interpret? Yeah, that. It also shows how to make animated picture textboxes, so you can in theory have multiple languages in your game.
