Description
This year marked the 50th year of the first Pride marches to take place. With so much that has been going on in the world - so much discrimination, hate and ignorance - it's time we step up and shout proudly about who and what we are!
Often various groups are under-appreciated and under-represented.
Our identity is important, and thus, this event to create games with more representation of those who get a bum deal when it comes to this shit. Our culture, our race, our sexuality, our gender. Who we are matters and we deserve to be represented in ways that we can appreciate and share with others.
And thus begins a day for each year taken to throw open the doors of ignorance and expose the world to our flaming amazingness. Or something. Let's gammak!

Rules
- You have 50 days to make your game.
- Any resources allowed but be mindful of Let's Players and streamers when it comes to copyrighted content.
- Any engine.
- Game must be more than 20 minutes long. Longer time, longer game requirement.
- Event runs from Saturday the 11th July until Monday the 18th August
- Game must be created during that time.
- Must have an accepted game page so that you may submit.
SUBMIT ENTRIES BY MAKING A GAME PAGE, ADDING THE DOWNLOAD THERE THEN SUBMITTING IT HERE.
I don't think it needs to be said, but I'm going to say it now so no-one can say I didn't say it earlier - this event is not about representing hate groups nor racial groups that are already over-represented. It's to draw attention to those groups that are under-represented in media. So if I find a game about Brittany the straightest, whitest Cali teen who ever Cali'd and how she is falling in love with Stevie McWhiteboy, the straightest and whitest Cali boi who ever Cali'd, or a game about being a cop who gets to beat down black folk, I will revoke your ability to gammak. Somehow. I'll find a way. So help me Lord Aremen, I will.

I counted the dates wrong. Was in a rush so I will fix that when I return back too (I will definitely get back before the end of the event, no worries).
You can team up or make games by yourself. You can use something like an orc seeking gay love or being out of place in the elf society they were born in. That kind of thing - with fantastic elements - is fine, but keep in mind that it is a Pride game event, stretched to include other minority groups so no straight white bois saving pretty white princess and living happily ever after.

But they did their first march on the anniversary of the stonewall riots. So it is 50 years since the first pride marches.

You can also make a game by yourself! I'm doing that, in fact, I think most people are. I see you've already made a game by yourself once, so why not?

I never thought about this. Maybe I have a chance after all.
Agreed. My base idea boiled down to "Raziya is trans; here is more backstory"... but I'm tempted to convey, as a self-insert in various ways, that she miiiight be neurodiverse. If anything, this would be the time to have it be relevant? I hadn't pondered using that for this event before, and I'd prefer not to dilute and/or cheapen the experience. Food for thought.
for those struggling with ideas, i quote karsu: "i mean if someone wants they can probably just make a game with a gay mc or something, but i think the theme can resonate on many more levels and involves mutable and immutable characteristics of human nature." while a very broad event, i think it opens up a lot of opportunities to explore specific things!
anyway, karsu and i are making a goofy grind game about bureaucracy and how it shuts the disenfranchised out of society. while we're the sort of people who have a distinct vision and don't really want to accomodate, if you want to attach yourself to a project and help out with little things (sprite work, maybe some mapping, testing, giving feedback on documents, or whatever you're good at) i'm open to taking on a few people. again, this is for folks who aren't looking to head a project, just wanna do something for the event. and no pressure if you run out of time or decide the project's not for you!
