You have to open the Game.ini file with a text editor and change the second line "RTP=RPGVXAce" to "RTP=", for it to stop asking for the RTP.

Thank you for the info! ^_^
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

bullshit rationalization for laziness
RTP is a good tool for letting other developers play your game, but until it starts being automatically included with Windows, you should include it when you are posting your game for players. It takes an extra fifteen minutes for the game dev and vastly increases the audience's willingness and ability to play your game. You want random visitors to figure out what the heck "RTP" means? Ain't nobody got time fo dat. They just give up on the game.

And I mean, when I ran a boss battle contest with all the contestants voting on each-others' entries, fully half of them - experienced game devs! - had trouble with one game or another due to RTP. One person required the 1.03 RM2K RTP and one person required the 1.32 RM2K3 RTP+ and one person required the Portuguese RMXP RTP and one person required the Japanese RMVX RTP and oh my fucking god I wanted to shoot myself.

The biggest problem is that the RTP must ALWAYS be installed on the comp the game is being played on when the game was made with VX Ace Lite. It is weird, even when the folder includes the ENTIRE RTP it still tells the person it needs to be installed, and then it doesn't even draw from it! The blasted thing draws from the included files only and doesn't work if any are missing from inside it!

Or at least that has been the way with both of the games I've made with "VX Ace Lite".
You have to open the Game.ini file with a text editor and change the second line "RTP=RPGVXAce" to "RTP=", for it to stop asking for the RTP.
In older versions of the software, there's a checkbox in RPG Maker that says "this game requires the RTP" that you can just uncheck.
In RM2K3: The checkbox appears when you make the game disk.
In RMXP: In the top menu, choose Game, then Select RTP. Set all of them to None.
In RMVX/Ace: yeah you gotta edit the .ini file, stupid enterbrain

Oh, how badly do I want to try to make a trippy psych horror game in a week...
Why is there no post or something of this even on the front site? I had to search through recent posts to find this. Now I'm a day late ;_;

True, but I probably shouldn't devote a whole month to this >.> I have a lot of distracting side-projects as it is and it'd be a little irresponsible to take on another one.

But being irresponsible is fun...

It has a massive 640x320 banner...

People were complaining about redundancy on the frontpage, so I haven't always accompanied a banner update with a WHATS BUZZING post.
Stick a shiv in the ribs of the RTP and nix it completely. Copy assets from the RTP to your game folder as needed, never give the RTP a chance to get rooted in your project. Also use a script that wraps the asset retrieval in a try/catch block so not finding an asset doesn't crash your game.

I would have more makerscore If I did things.

I am seriously thinking of doing something in the vain of Castlevania with SMBX, with completely custom sound and graphics. It would take a hell of a lot of work and I'd have to get started like... Now.

I'm thinking of meshing a bunch of crappy jump scares in SMBX.
hahahahahano

I'll just do a giant horror hub where you go through levels and get chased around by some reoccurring monster or something.
Good luck people~ Let's all have a good time~

Redundancy is good though.

Good luck to all, our team is gonna win so don't even try, but good luck anyway.
Ok, I signed up. I have absolutely no time to work on games right now, and my idea is huge. And I'm not even sure what the idea is. But I'll do it!
Link your game profiles, when you got one! I want to see 'em.

$100 steam card is a just cause in my eyes, and everyone knows that money is the greater good.

Sadly, couldn't have said it better myself.
I shall try this! I'm not exactly sure if I'll actually do, but we'll cross that bridge when we don't get there.
