Description
Halloween is here once more and it's time to make a game in a month!
Ever read a story that started out all happy and cute and sweet and then something happens that just twists it into the horror territory abruptly? Say, oh, a young, innocent girl makes friends with a fluffy magical creature who gives her magical powers but she slowly dies every time she uses them? Or, hey, best friends go on a picnic together, only for one of them to kill the other in a jealous rage over a boy?
Cute stuff can turn creepy very fast, and that's what the aim of this Halloween event is this year! Creating a cinnamon sweet premise with a terrible twist ending!
Let's go kill some cuties!
- You have one month to make the game, starting from 12:01am 1st of October until 12:01am 2nd November.
- Games must have a game page! Please make sure to have them done a week before the end date!
- Games must abide by the rules of the site.
- There must be at least 10 minutes of gameplay!
- Any resources and engine are fine. (May I point you towards the RMN Music Packs 1 and 2 for free to use music?)
- Resources cannot be made for this event until it starts.
- Create a game page for your game before the 26th.
- Upload your game to the page when it is accepted.
- Come to this page, click Submit in the heading and choose the download.

News of the week:
I was afraid to get out of time due to IRL constraints. But these last 2 days were quite productive and I'm getting confident.
The RPG genre was definitely chosen in addition to the horror. A NPC in Ghost Town will propose you to change the difficulty of encounters between 4 levels. A harder level will make you earn greater XP and money. Money will allow you to buy drinks that definitely increase your stats. The key of the game is to get a high enough level as well as stats in order to get a chance to beat the final boss.
About the battles, there's no need to be complicated. Sophie and Damian both have 8 skills: target head (high damage but low accuracy), target body (always hit but low damage), target legs (may decrease Speed if hit), target arms (may decrease Strength if hit). All of these skills have a "all enemies targeted" variant. The heroes don't have MP.

Battle system is going well!! Trying to work out Copy Abilities a la Kirby in RPGMaker. I think it'll be fun! I want to make an enjoyable experience first and horror second, so it's been a fun balance to learn.
I also got custom speech bubbles going!

I am so sorry to say this, but I am gonna drop out... It's even more painful because I had such a nice idea ToT
The thing is college started, and with the whole pandemic situation it's even more stressful with all the online classes, buying this and buying that... I have so little free time... I opened my laptop for game making, like.... Two or three times in two weeks? That's awful.
Anyways, I'm wishing all of you good luck and fun while game making!!!

5ish days to go...it's gonna be close! I'm thankful that I have 3 or 4 hours to work on this every day, but more free time would be nice.
Just so you all know because I didn't post this here, but you have until 29th (tomorrow) to get your game pages up and accepted. I'll be going through the queue tonight and tomorrow so if you get denied there's still a chance to fix and get accepted. >.<)b

I couldn't agree more. It's soooo cute!!! But in this case, the cuter it is, the worse right? Let's hope we don't end hating those cute creatures there. It would be so sad.
