Description

So we've played with the engine a bit and gotten used to how it works. Some of us focussed on graphics, others dabbled in eventing and plugins. Now it's time to put our experimentation to use.

Let's mak gam!

Rules
- Make and release a demo or full game by Midnight (GMT) of the 15th of November.
- Only RMMV is allowed.
- Team up as you will.
- As many as you like.
- Games must have at least 5-10 minutes of game time.
- Rips, edits, RTP and custom are all good.
- Must have the default 4 characters as your party (you may add more but those four must be playable characters).

All games must be submitted to the event page by the 15th of November, 11:59 GMT.

To sumbit:
Create a game page for your game, abiding by the rules of the site. It is highly recommended that you do this at least a few days before the end of the event!

Upload your game file to the gamepage and then click the Submit button at the top of this page. From there you can choose the download you mean to submit.

This must all be done before the end date of the competition.

Meet your team!

Harold, the Brave Hero/Facepuncher

Therese, the Serious Knight/Beekeeper

Marsha, the Cheerful Mage/Gastromancer

Lucius, the Calm Priest/Rockin' Guitaromancer

Maybe you should have tried turning the idea into a game. I'm kidding! Poor seiromem. Sorry for rubbing it in your face while you're down. I know that feel of not finishing game in time for a game jam event deadline all too well </3

11/25 participants actually turned a thing. not bad, almost 50%.

Hey Liberty, my name isn't on the Badge list...do I not qualify? I am pretty certain that the files I sent had HTML as the main playable characters...Thanks!

Fixed. I must have been distracted by Team Try-Hard above you.

I'm expecting a 70+% or greater return rate from you folks. Reverse the RMN norm...

We had a pretty good return rate, to be honest. Did we hit 70%? Is that what you're pointing out? If so, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee boi

The TM is for Totally Magical.

No, actually, we didn't manage 50 percent.
How many people did not make a submission?
In the interests of getting RMN's event submission rate even higher I'll sacrifice my side splitting team names from events. It was a difficult decision but I believe it's for the best!
Honestly? I don't care about the rates, as long as the end numbers are decent. 11 is a decent number, even if many more people signed up. I'd much rather people did sign up with the hope of actually doing something, than not at all - because they can at least see what's being talked about on the event page and maybe have some input about stuff. You don't need to complete in order to add something, so I'm 100% okay with people signing up but not putting something forward.

...as long as it ain't for the Secret Santa. If you sign up for that, you damn well better do a thang. Or else I will cry in the corner as I fill in for your stupid ass
I personally love events and try and sign up for as many as possible...
This is, however, terrible for my social life and my main project because I figure if its a short enough deadline, then godsdamn it, I am going to focus!

Hey~ I was actually working on that earlier today. I'm gonna try my best to get it out this month, so... already ahead of you on that one, my friend~

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Finally we get to get our dates <3
I wanted to do something, but I was unable. I just couldn't think of anything good and was just too busy with other things. Well maybe next time.
Bummer deal, Harbinger. I was having trouble coming up with a good idea, too, but then I used one from the Insanity Jam Idea Generator to make my game.
"A farming game where you sell gross barbarians beside a modern day racetrack and find a modest headline."
My original idea was a dungeon crawler set up so that dying would return you to square one but in the dungeon you could do optional challenges that will make the next trek easier. For example, find a side boss guarding a lever that opens a door so the player can skip a segment of the dungeon. The general scheme was that the player would choose between trying to complete the dungeon or finding a challenge to make the next run easier.

But then I realized I couldn't get it done in two days so I played ff14 instead
