Description

The dead armies of games forgotten lurk in the dark, waiting for unsuspecting developers to lose their way on the path to their current games and stop in their tracks to think of days gone by.

It's time to dig them up from their early graves and release them on the world come this Hallowe'en.

Yup, it's that time of year again! Combining Release Something and the annual Halloween event, we task you with taking an old, abandonned game, shining it up and letting it run free in the fields of 2019.

Rules
- Start on October 1st
- Finish by October 30th
- Game MUST be abandoned. In this case, not worked on for at least a few months or put aside whilst you worked on something else. It can be game ideas that you threw away and didn't get far into creation, too.
- There needs to be a decent chunk of work done on it over the course of the month.
- Any engine, any resources, etc
- Must have a game page made and accepted to the site BEFORE the end date.

To Submit:
- You need a gamepage that has been accepted to the site (either newly made or an older one from the initial creation of the game)
- Sign up to this page as a participant.
- Click the Submit button at the top-right of the page.
- Upload the game to your gamepage.
- Choose the proper download for the game from the drop-down list and hit Submit.

Badges
- A badge for those who release a full game - 60 MS
- A badge for those who release a demo - 30 MS
- A badge for those who take part in at least one of the prompts that will put up over the course of the month to showcase progress made - 10 MS

(If we're still posting pictures)Spent the better part of the event building a light puzzle level and trying to make multi-layer fog work. Will hopefully have a semi complete demo by the 30th
We're getting down to the wire and I am excited!
Managed to finish eventing the final boss last night so now nearly all essential content is implemented. All I need to do is draw some pics for the epilogue, squash some bugs, and make an end credits sequence.

SO MUCH HYPE!!

You know, I might actually be able to revive something for this, even if I only have a couple of days left. Best of luck to the rest of you, I'm certain that we'll see plenty of cool games being revived!

Last I checked, no. The rules says below:
- Must have a game page made and accepted to the site BEFORE the end date.

So if you still havent submit a game page yet, it'd be wise to do so now to avoid denied/late issues!
Submitted a game page today. I'll release something but it might be a very short (literally three maps) demo.
Sadly, I've decided to drop out of this event, mostly because I wasn't satisfied with the game I was making. I'm thankful for participating though, it revived my interest in that project. But next time, I want to do it right, because while deadlines are great to motivate me, they can also bring a lot of stress. I want to revisit that project with a fresh mind and with a more original and creative approach, taking my time to polish it as much as I can. It will have to wait for a very long while though...

On the good news, is that I haven't stopped gam making, and I'm now focusing my attention on my current main project. I don't want to make any announcements because it's still a little far away from being playable, but it's slowly getting there.
YAY! *Whew* I got a demo done for this event.

Friendly reminder. I you don't think you can do it:

Related: once a game that's been set to 'Private' in the submissions queue is taken off of private and has (a lot more than) the minimum number of images, is that game page "submitted" to the site? I don't see a separate submit button. This event has a submit button but that's for a download and a) I don't have my demo done yet b) even if I did I don't think I'd be able to upload it before the game page was accepted.

Edit (Related to Related): it seems impossible to add pages to a game page before it's been accepted?

Liberty would know better than me, but, I would say yes, it's still considered being submitted to the site. However, I am inclined to point out that it needs to both be accepted, and the "private" flag to be clear, before it can be seen by the public. Otherwise, visitors would get a 404.

Correct. Downloads, blogs, media submissions, and tabs/subpages are disabled until the gamepage is accepted.

Private or Public won't matter in the settings for going through the queue. If you add the corrent length of description and amount of images, not matter if it's set to private or public, it will go to the queue. I'll be able to see it either way.

Only after it gets accepted does that choice affect the game page. Private ticked will make it so that no-one bar the developers/testers/etc can see the page. Unticked means that it will be visible to everyone.

Pages, blogs, media and the like won't unlock until the game page is accepted through the queue.
Hwelp, Game Page, Description & (...counts...) 24 screenshots submitted as of today. If/when the gampag gets accepted I'll get around to adding pages and, depending on how the next 48 hours go for me, maybe hopefully a demo, too.
Final stretch, game page pending, 40% playtest done, etc. Gonna power through playtesting and tweaking stuff tonight after a brain break.

THERE. Me and Pudding did as much debugging as we could so this will have to do. It is complete enough for the player to reach the ending so that's all that matters at this point. Polish can come at a later date.

Now if you excuse me, I need to hibernate.
All ready to upload when page accepted. Couple tweaks, maybe a couple skills to add, but it's basically done. Well as a 0.15 demo heh.

This ends tomorrow right? So in about 24+ hours, right? I'm definitely not asking because I plan on maybe reviving something, nope, just asking for general knowledge.
