Description

The dead armies of games forgotten lurk in the dark, waiting for unsuspecting developers to lose their way on the path to their current games and stop in their tracks to think of days gone by.

It's time to dig them up from their early graves and release them on the world come this Hallowe'en.

Yup, it's that time of year again! Combining Release Something and the annual Halloween event, we task you with taking an old, abandonned game, shining it up and letting it run free in the fields of 2019.

Rules
- Start on October 1st
- Finish by October 30th
- Game MUST be abandoned. In this case, not worked on for at least a few months or put aside whilst you worked on something else. It can be game ideas that you threw away and didn't get far into creation, too.
- There needs to be a decent chunk of work done on it over the course of the month.
- Any engine, any resources, etc
- Must have a game page made and accepted to the site BEFORE the end date.

To Submit:
- You need a gamepage that has been accepted to the site (either newly made or an older one from the initial creation of the game)
- Sign up to this page as a participant.
- Click the Submit button at the top-right of the page.
- Upload the game to your gamepage.
- Choose the proper download for the game from the drop-down list and hit Submit.

Badges
- A badge for those who release a full game - 60 MS
- A badge for those who release a demo - 30 MS
- A badge for those who take part in at least one of the prompts that will put up over the course of the month to showcase progress made - 10 MS

Hey, how about you review my game? It's a lot better than Zero Gear Fighters and Dragon Ascension. (Probably)

I don't really do reviews of games >_>
Also, time for me to see how much I can bring back to life with 24 hours left!

This ends tomorrow right? So in about 24+ hours, right? I'm definitely not asking because I plan on maybe reviving something, nope, just asking for general knowledge.

I don't understand this statement. It says here that you maybe will review something from the event after the event. Or at least that was my interpretation.
Okay, after an embarrassing glitch with annihilates everyone with antimatter in the first battle, I've fixed that and replaced the download with version 1.1. If you have 1.0 already, I also have a patch that can be downloaded instead.

In case you missed it tho, here's how it went down.
With any luck I will have an actual demo done at basically exactly when the deadline is.

Also here is the game page: https://rpgmaker.net/games/11313/
Uploaded gam, some more stuff to tweak etc...and you know, finish the gam, but for a demo ye, I'm fine with it. Was looking at Felski's skill tree for the learn skill system, but would need another week to implement heh. I now fully expect peeps to find strange bugs everywhere.

It's alive, IT'S ALIVE! My resurrection is complete! Now I pray there's no game breaking issues.

Congratulations to everyone who managed to finish their games! There are so many different kinds and styles of games that I want to give a try to them all... I think I'll try to do a playthrough of each one once the event it's officially over.

Good job, everyone!
Congrats to everyone who finished their games!! Unfortunately, time wasn't on my side so I won't be able to release a demo or anything, but I'll be playing these games after the event for Halloween!

Congratulations on everyoen that managed to finish something for the event so far! Looking forward to seeing how many more games will get revived before the event ends.

I said "REVIVING" as in, to revive, not "REVIEWING" as in review xD
Welp, I put a demo up. It's incredibly short, around 5 maps. If there's a stream this year, it'll probably take all of five minutes to see everything it has to offer XD
My demo is up. The movement system isn't as good as I wanted: Lya's momentum turn to 0 each time she hits an obstacle. The demo is very short. At the end you receive all the spells under development. This includes all 4 spells described on the game page plus 2 extras: one that repels and one that attracts projectiles (handy to hit enemies with their own projectiles).
I think i ended up making it more scarey than i thought... oops. It is spooktober after all, I guess.
uploading my download now

edit: very very s.l.l.o.o.o.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.w.l.l.y...

second edit: okay, now that's a second time that the rpgmaker.net page has timed out before reaching 5% uploaded. this is v. frustrating & causes me some concern. It's a pretty big game folder at 229 MB even after scrubbing it of all unused resources and encrypting it into a fairly tight .rar but I wouldn't think that should be enough MBs in this day and age for RMN's uploader to choke on it and die.

Maybe everyone else is trying to upload their games at the same time?
So I talked Indrah into doing a new demo for In Search of Freedom a couple of days ago. We just finished but I apolagise for the state of the game post the original demo, I'll try and fix it up next week. I thought I would have way more time than I did the last couple of days but something family related came up.

The game now has two/three new areas to explore and two new bosses (who sadly lack the puzzle boss style of mechanics of the original bosses in this game). You'll also get to play with the fourth party member who is new... but there's no tutorial on how she works! Also I've just been informed her Geomancy doesn't work properly, so I hope you like her forest skills!
Grrrargh. It seems like it might have made it close to 50% that time, but once again, it timed out. This is both annoying and nerve-wracking. I'm going to try shutting down literally everything else on my computer so that all of my pitiful bandwidth (fuck you Comcast)and RAM and whatever can be put towards this next attempt.

Failing that, does anyone know a good alternative for hosting large files?

50 gigs free.
Mega is pretty good, tho they only give you the fifty gigs for one month. Then they shoomp you down to like fifteen gigs for free.
Still a lotta gigs tho.
