It's that time of the year again! That's right, it's rpgmaker.net's 5th birthday and to celebrate this momentous occasion we're going to be having ourselves a nice little game-making bash.

So on June 3rd, 2012, you are cordially invited to participate in RMN's 5th birthday celebration: a 5-hour game-making event. Once the theme is revealed at midnight UTC on June 3rd, users will have a block of 5 hours in which to make a game (any block of 5 hours of the day's 24) and the contest will officially close at 11:59pm UTC on June 3rd. As usual with short time-frame events, we'll be relying on the “honor system” ("honour system" for our European brethren), meaning, please don't take it too seriously and/or cheat: this is just for fun.


That said, participants will receive a tasty slice of birthday achievement and the winner of the event will walk away with the coveted 5-year birthday cake*. They will also receive a copy of RPG Maker 3 Music Pack ($20 value!)

• There are no restrictions on engine or graphics
• The theme will be announced at midnight UTC on June 3rd
  
• The 24 hour period will be for June 3rd UTC; you can use any block of 5 hours in this time-frame. We're going by the “honor system” here, so please be honorable.
  
• As with all of the short events, you're not expected to make something fantastic or srs bsns. Hell, don't even worry too much about finishing; the entries usually end up being pretty terrible and a lot of fun, so take this as a chance to cut loose your usual game-dev hangups and do something for the hell of it. You can always continue the project after the event if you like it.
  
• Most of all, have fun!
  

Winners to be determined! All participants who submit a game will receive the Dino Achievement. The judges will choose the official winner of the event; he or she will receive the Fred Flinstone Achievement. After the event concludes, there will also be a voting period for the User's Choice winner; this fan favorite will win the Barney Rubble Achievement.
