Description

Summer, with fields of wheat and grain blowing in the gentle breeze. Warmth that sinks into the skin making days long and lazy, perfect for swimming and indulging in frozen treats.

Autumn, full of gusty breezes and warm afternoons. Turning paths to gold as leaves fall like a riotously coloured shower, leaving the trees bare of their foliage, stark against the sky.

Winter, with frozen evenings spent huddled around an open flame, telling tales of the past and future to loved ones, a decorated tree listening in from the corner, it's tiny lights twinkling between leaves of green.

Spring, bursting with new life as the long sleep ends and nature returns ten-fold to rejoice with explosions of colour as all kinds of new plants turn their faces up to catch the sweet drops of fresh rain.

The four seasons are wonderful times full of amazing moments and this event focuses on them. There will be a total of five of these events over the course of the next few years. Each of the first four events will have you focus on a different complete game based on a season you didn't do before, allowing you to collect all four of the seasonal badges. The fifth will be a game where you will use all four seasons in a game. Keep an eye out for these events if you want to nab every badge!

Your aim this time - to make a game that uses one of these seasons as a main inspiration. They can be represented in different ways - surviving the frozen wilds, a story set in autumn following the death of a character, a visual novel with spring colours as the palette... the use is up to you, as long as it's easy to tell which season has been referenced.

Rules!
- You have three weeks in which to make the game.
- You may use any engine.
- You may use resources you've used in the past, however the game itself needs to be made within the three week period. That is, if you made custom resources for a game you may use those, however you can't just take an old game and finish it off for the event.
- The games must have an accepted game page. The game page must be accepted before Friday the 1st of June.
- Event begins on Saturday the 12th of May and ends at Midnight, Sunday the 3rd of June.
- Create a game based on a season. You must only use one season! This is for reasons that shall become apparent in due time.

Rewards
Each person who took part will receive a badge worth 10 MS.
Each person who completed a game will receive a badge worth 75 MS, themed around the season they drew inspiration from.

To reiterate - the season you choose doesn't have to be the season the game is set in but it needs to be a large component of the game, and easily recognisable as such.

well then I hope you don't get mad if you can't get the ending. sorry for this inconvenience.
edit: i just watch the video. and i just want to know why my buggy version can't count? =) because I heard you say mine is disqualified.
Here's the second video! It includes all the games that weren't in the first.

Enjoy! Sorry if I raged a bit too much on a certain game but the balance was kicking my ass. >.<;

That was quite hilarious to watch. And don't worry for the rush, I understand that 4 hours of playing might tire you off.
I think you might be quite obsessed with grammar hahahaha! "that hurt me at a personal level" ~ Libby 2018. Nevertheless you're right. I have to improve my English. Besides I'm sorry if it looked sexist to you, but with a "girl's body" I intended that it didn't have any muscles or strenght.
And finally, in order to continue the game you had to fill the barrel next to the cook. You should have clicked it. The bug would have come later. Anyway, I will make sure to correct those grammar mistakes, thanks for pointing them out >u<
No problem, and sorry if I seemed a bit grumpy. By that point my throat was hurting a bit and I'd just come off a game that was a little rage-enducing and had grammatical issues so I was getting a bit graugh about it. XD
For what it's worth, it might be worth noting in the journal what you're supposed to do next. I had the water, which is what the journal said I needed, I just had no idea what to do with it. Maybe something like "I need to use the white vase to fill the barrel in the kitchen with water from the well." so that you know what you need to do for all the steps. ^.^

The visual appeal of the game was cute and I enjoyed the characters well enough, even if the grammar needed fixing, but I understand it's not your first language so don't stress about it too much. Maybe asking someone to check it over for you would help a bit, too. I enjoyed what I played though, even if it might not have seemed like it.
Heads-up that badges are out.
Unfortunately there were a few people who didn't read the rules properly and thus got disqualified, sadly.
Watched the livestream now, too. I kind of dreaded seeing someone play my game, but it was really fun seeing you figure out the plot so fast xD Most of the stuff mentioned I wanted to add or revise, too, but I just ran out of time ^.^ I'll work on it a bit more now and put out a nicer version.

Thank you! That was the goal ^___^
Didn't get to finish mine on time. I became too busy by the time there was few days left. Oh well i'll leave it up on the sides for now and go back to my main game. Thanks for the event. I learned some more things I can add on mmy current under development game. :)
For those who don't know, while this event may be over there will be three other events of the same name/nature where you will have to focus on the seasons you didn't this time around. After those three there will be an all-seasons event which requires you to have all of them in your game. Lastly will be a 'finish the games you didn't in the other events' event so that you can have a last desperate aim for the badges.

Thanks to everyone who took part and looking forward to seeing ya'll next time too.

It's okay, really. Like I said don't worry about it ;)
I perfectly understand what you felt.

Thanks for the advice! In the updated version I followed it, making the journal a bit clearer.

I'm happy you enjoyed it!!! >u<
Yeah, about the language, I definitely need a proof-reader. I know that a game having many grammar mistakes could be tiring.
