AHAHAHA You all fell for it again! WHEN WILL YOU EVER LEARN?

Everyone has THREE WEEKS (and some change) to make a short game using not one, NOT TWO, but THREE randomly given theme elements from THIS POST!

You will get one randomly selected image, one randomly selected word, ANNNND...

One randomly selected resource from the PA-LETTE'S MAKE EVENT!

SIGNUPS WILL CLOSE ON 5/17 4PM CST!

HOW IT WORKS:
Sign up for the event. One person only!

I'll send you one randomly selected image, word, and resource from the Pa-lette's Make! event to use as the theme of your game. There's no rules for what you use, use rips, custom, whatever you like! Build with your favorite engine! Starting time is NOW! As soon as you sign up, I'll work on getting you your themes. New games only, don't dig out your dusty stuff and try to polish it up!

BRINGING BACK TR2'S FEATURE - ONE TIME REROLL!
That's right folks, I'm giving people a one time chance to reroll their theme if they are truly unhappy with their image/word/resource result from the initial roll. Use it wisely!

There are two nifty makerscore rewards for this game, one that goes to those who make a game demo, and those who submit a finished game!
Submit your finished game to the event page before the cutoff date, no extensions! ... Hopefully!

A NOTE ABOUT THE IMAGES AND THE RESOURCE - The image theme will be handled very loosely to allow for creative freedom. I'll use this image (again) as an example;


Now say for example you got the above picture. The theme included could be as vague or deep as you like, it could be about a forest, a dad and his kid, a pair of hunters, rifles, a road sign, a busted car, ANYTHING related to the image! Just because you have something you feel would be impossible to work with, do not expect us to judge you for thinking outside the box on some extreme tangent just because it doesn't match the image theme to the pixel. It's about fun! Go nuts!

AND, when it comes to the Pa-Lette's Make! resource you get, I am holding the SAME guidelines as the image reference. Take what you want from it! Obviously you are allowed to use the resource if you so desire, but you're also allowed to simply take inspiration from it in some way much the same as the image guidelines! This is all in place so that the poor sap that can't art to save their life winds up with one of our stellar art submissions won't feel obligated to try to work the resource into their own work, and thus have the resulting art clash.

Keep in mind that I reserve the right to accept or deny any images/words used in the roulette post if I deem they aren't worthy of the Theme Roulette roster. ~Illy

18 finished projects! That's great to see! I Hope that these projects don't all stay in their current potentially unfinished/unpolished versions and that they get more love from their creators in the coming weeks.

This reminded me that the gamepage I set up for my entry still has the project flagged as "in production" when it probably could have been flagged as "complete".
Thanks to Coel for streamin mah gam. Found some things I missed in playtest and some balance tweaks. Gonna add a bit more and tidy it up a bit before version 1.2.
So there's a small graphical bug in my game if you play the tent or sleeping bag cards. If you use them it displays the wrong action symbols at the top of the Forest and Cave locations.

Just in case:
Forest top row has 2 play symbols
Cave top row has 3 energy and 1 discard symbol.
A note regarding the credits in my game:
I had erroneously attributed the cat image to Lechking, as he has a very very similar looking cat that he's been sharing images of in the discord server.
He confirmed that the image I got is not his cat.
I had to scroll through the huge-ass source thread to find that it was Piano who had posted the cat pic that I got. I have no idea if it's his cat or just a found cat image.

I will amend the credits once the gamepage gets accepted, but the event version will likely be stuck with the inaccurate credits.

It fixes two bugs:
Top row icons being messed up when you use the tent or sleeping bag.
You can no longer activate cards when you don't have the energy.

New content:
Enemy cards now replace the top row of icons rather than disabling them.
5 new cards bringing the total unique cards upto 30:
2 new enemies both of whom add a weapon card to your deck when they are defeated.
A new card type (weapon) has been added, there are two cards of this type.
1 new side quest card has been added, completing it adds an activate symbol to the upper forest.

I have submitted the game page for it but I think I missed the submission queue check this week.

To be honest, my project is a demo.
(And I don't want to lie and tell it's a full game for just a bonus of 35 MS)

I'd like to keep going and make the game way longer. For me, a RPG you can speedrun in less than 10 minutes is not a full game at all.

(It would work fine in the editor so I wouldn't notice in the release version)

Hey, so, if anyone played "Fractures in the Mirror" and has any feedback, please send it my way via PM!

I'm trying to work on a proper release of the game...But I'm really not sure what to DO with it...

Like, my list of things to do so far is:
- Tighten up narrative, add new bits to make the characters pop a little more, overhaul ending scenes almost entirely.
- Add new monsters to create more monster variety between stages.
- Find a way to give player some starting "barrier" so you don't lose HP at the start of every fight if a monster is faster than you.
- Fix the random encounter system to eliminate weird things like getting a fight while changing maps.

And...After that, I'm drawing a blank on what else to work on, because this game is such a departure from my usual work.

So, a few questions:
- Is the difficulty too easy?
- Are fights too long once you get the hang of the system?
- If I added some New Game Plus options to give you extra power, would the idea of making the enemies way more threatening (but probably more fragile) to create a more rogue-likey experience be a thing you want to see?
It would be great if I could get some feedback for my game.
